- This past weekend we took a trip to the Shipshewana card show. This show is run by our friends over at @bee_sports on Instagram. They do a FANTASTIC job with this show! We were able to buy tons of cool stuff ranging from football, basketball, and baseball, to F1, and soccer. Including the largest sports card, I've ever purchased (a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle SGC 2.5). one thing i learned from watching this guys videos is you GOTTA try to buy in bulk when u go to these shows and talk to these dealers ..... it always seems to work out for him at a good discount price. nice.
Yeah I try to buy cards around the one I really want. Sell everything around and keep the one I wanted. End up getting a better deal. Too many people watch Ryans videos and start offering 80% on single cards

@@Jordybuilt thank you man! Yea my dad and his ex broke up I forgot my cards over there and her kid stole them. I had kd lebron rookies all types of crazy bball cards . Gave up after that . Been like 13 years . Had gone threw some stuff . Randomly decided tolook at cards on CZcams and came across Ryan ! Watched a couple his videos and went a bought some boxes ! Now I’m back into and when I start feeling depressed I’ll watch some videos or get some packs ! Tbh probably saved me from not being here getting back into a hobby I loved ! Ryan is dope and treats his fans well i love that and great to see someone like that In the card community

Mantle is so clean for 2.5 Iv seen worse cards graded 2.5 selling for 90k honestly a insane pick up for 38k
Everyone in the comments talking about the deal (and it *IS* crazy!), but it's moments like "How about 40?" "That's a little light, how about 50?" that make me love watching this channel. I subbed years back to support because I'm from Grove City (not a sports card fan, but I've been to the shop many times for card supplies!) but I watch every video because of how kind and generous you are.

I am not sure I will ever understand the concept of "Eye Appeal" of an SGC 2.5. I am shocked at the prices people pay for poor condition cards.

Would anyone buy a Finest without the coating? I sure would not! At age 40 we grew up with the 1996-1997 class!! 🏀 the best since that 86 Fleer class. But we NEVER touched the coating. Love my iverson gold and a bunch of Kobe 9’s and 10’s as well as the most underrated with cultural relevance who also played “Jesus” in ‘He Got Game” by Spike Lee! Loaded with Chrome rookies and finest ww coating 9’s and 10’s. Topps paper 10’s too soooo cheap!

My comment is simply this:
1. Did you always want one of these?
2.Does it have EYE appeal?
3.Was the price reasonable for WHAT it was?
4. Was the condition commensurate with the price asked?
5. Can I make a little bit of money assuming the value goes up a bit in the next 5 years or more?
6. Do you want it for your OWN collection?
if the answer is YES to all 6 questions above....then get it. Life is TOO short. I'm 59...and that's how I buy things.
And yes, I do buy things that I JUST want,, but may never make a nickel on later on........ iF you're younger, then I suggest you stay with the 1-5 questions above....
