Would Southgate be a good Manchester United manager? 🤔
No!! He's absolutely rubbish. I rather have Keano all day long. To have Southgate & United in the same sentence absolutely disgusting
No. Thanks.
The best fit for United! Hire immediately
I cannot imagine a worst choice. We wouldn't come close to winning silverware under him
Noooooooo
A documentary with Keane and Wrighty travelling places would be a massive hit!
That would be great
I agree
Keane and wright travel to different stadiums would some show
The road trip to see Phil sounds amazing 😂
Yes, would be a huge success 👏
Southgate would be the worst possible appointment ..
Best outcome for England though
So you're saying there's a chance. 🙂
I don't want him anywhere near our club
Gareth would be a great fit for Chelsknotanymore or Pool or Citeh. He would damage them so badly that he’d either be sacked within the month or he’d take them down to his level, the Championship.
He can’t go to too big of a club, so he’d be ideal for Man Utd
Keano's subtle 'I will do the next round' joke when talking about fa cup draw went under the radar. Very good.
Roy saying "we used to play Gary at right back" had me crying 😂🤣
Nice touch by Roy with the t-shirt! RIP Sinéad🇮🇪
How good!!
Brilliant shirt.
Just when I thought I couldn't love Roy Keane anymore than I already did.
❤
Nothing compares to Sinéad or Roy 🧀
Southgate as manager would be a catastrophe. Would Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona hire a manager like him? Scraping the bottom of the barrel wouldn't even cut it.
Genuine question - do you believe the reports that are written about the link? And if so - why?
Would they hire a manager with little to no success at a major club? Yes, they've done it multiple times. Only in England do you have to have competed for major league titles and or the Champions League to get a decent club job. Also helps if you're from an in vogue foreign country. Which is why there'll never be a top England manager again, because the English managers that could be that aren't any chances to prove it.
Even if you only look at managers that have only had success at international level, they've all done it. Rijkaard, Lopetegui and Klinsmann only had managed international teams. Big European clubs don't misplace so much emphasis on the manager, which is why theirs get a chance and England's don't.
@@samwize28 nahh I think it's just media, nothing more
United havnt been on that level for a decade
I’ll double that reply, would Southgate be good for any team in the prem. Everyone knows the answer apart from British pundits. NO!
Roy saying about Ronaldo having 150-160 caps for Portugal, showing admiration for his willingness to represent club and country. He’s actually got 205 Portugal caps 🤯
Haha this is a crazy fact check!😅 crazy
He was talking about goals!!
@@dp4441 he wasn’t, as they were talking about the demands and the potential burn out of playing even more games
the 20 minute behind the scenes is a must keep when it happens, the casual convo they have is better than the structured topics. fantastic viewing
"I see Gareth Southgate, standing on the touchline, he's got the stature to be a Man United Manager." Genuinely one of the worst takes of all time 😂😂🤡🤡
I am surprised he's thinking that way. I feel a bit embarrassed. That thinking is low-level.
The presenter at Talk Sport said something like that as well - judging a coach by their attire.
He should go to Arsenal since Ian rates him so highly
Wright comment 🤡🤡
@@peterkalyabe7553 I think they were meaning more about Southgates demeanor and body language. He comes across as a confident self assured man
He was very clear he meant he looks the part, aesthetically.
The Diallo/Dalot misunderstanding at the start is great. Wright didn’t even flinch when he thought Gary said Amad was United’s best player this season 😂
Now that you mentioned it 😂
Wrighty is so nice though didn’t have the heart to say anything 😂
27:55 ... Thats the epitome of a good friendship, Wrighty says "even though Roy missed it" in reference to the fa cup final Vs Arsenal and then immediately turnt to him and whispered "maybe that's why we won it"
Class, class, class from Ian Wright there. True Gent.
he's so annoying. i cannot stand ian wright. childish and not smart in any way at all
The preshow banter is just getting better and better.Thats what us fans want. The inside stuff, locker room stories, the stuff you never hear about. Not "how did that make you feel questions. This show is brilliant ,well done and thank you Gary!
How is Ian Wright such a consistently joyous ball of energy, what a brilliant lad
Great lad
Right!! Sixty year old ffs..
Bro is living life, well deserved.
Wrighty’s joke at 1:01:41 😂
Just don’t put him back into the jungle
Fair play to Gary, he finally stuck up for right backs of which he played at a very high standard consistently well for years winning 8 league titles and numerous other incredible honours.
Suppose England win the Euro, why would Southgate leave with the World Cup coming up. I could see leaving after a WC win, but surely the Euro would his lead into the WC the ultimate target.
He stuck up for them but Roy’s wins the argument. A cm could play rb and play it well but most rb wouldn’t be able to do what good cm can do
@@walshknwsbestWell Lahm, Kimmich, Trent, Dalot, Alaba, Cencelo, Zinchenko, Juranovic all would disagree with you

As Gary predicted, Saka has already left the England Camp.
And Kane has pulled out, I bet more will follow
The amount of football he’s played over the last 2 years is ridiculous tbh he needs to be left to rest and recover same as any player from any club who’s played a massive amount over a couple years
Poor Nev gets some stick, he should just say "right lads, medals on the table"
To be fair he was the best English right back of his generation, and one of the best in his position in the world for 10 years+

@@cargoshipgaming where did I say he wasn't talented?
I won't wait I didn't you 🤡 go polish him off on his page at least 😂
I know they’re only bantering. But people has to stop ridiculing and underestimating Gary Neville’s career. Watch United People’s channel video on Gary’s career and you’ll realised that he’s a very good player. To have the kind of consistency at the level he was delivering for United for that long, it’s rare and not at all easy.
That's largely because Gary has this fake humility.
@@EnshroudedLadhe just had ridiculously high standards for himself it’s pretty obvious
He's constantly putting himself down which doesn't help his case
He became a good right back. The first few years he wasnt very good. Obviously wasnt good enough to play his preferred position at CB. Fergie just seemed to stick anyone in at RB. Paul parker was good enough for CB, so put him RB. As mentioned there with Keano, we'll stick you RB for a while. Phil nev, john o shea, wes brown, smalling all played quite a few games there. I think because a lot of those players could play other positions they became squad players. Gary wasnt good enough to play other positions so was left at RB (occassionally back in at CB if there were injuries).....If gary was playing RB for another club would United have signed him? No chance.
Wouldn't be surprised if Gary watched that video, first time he's stood up for himself haha
Please not Southgate
Why not...well, actually I can think of a lot of reasons
Southgate 😂😂 the united fans would never have him .
They must be trolling 💔
Please let this happen🙏🙏
@@delboy6384 you are obviously not a united supporter 😂
Roys face," you want me to get excited about England winning "🤣🤣🤣🤣
Too good 😂
The mutual respect between Roy and Wrighty is so brilliant to see.
How Southgate is being linked with united is mental, has underperformed with one of the best English generations ever, deserves palace level at best
Palace wouldn't touch the prat
Because of their new part owner Sir English 😊
Although I agree he isn't the man for man united, I think it's harsh to say he "underachieved with the best english generation ever". His first world cup was far from a generational gift. The euro squad came short on penalties in the final, could have won but it's how tournemants play out. This upcoming Euro is the only time he has the favored squad, and that hasnt even happened yet.
Underperforming? Give me a break LOL
@@onix3539 if you think this England team that he’s managed the last few years wasn’t at least good enough to win the last euros then you’re deluded, was held back by his defence tactics and the final in the euros is a prime example of that
“We used to play Gary at right back” done me 🤣🤣
Gary Neville was absolutely world class for over a decade. Massive part of the most successful period in United’s history.
Yeah chill there dear. World class? Come on. Throwing that expression around far too easily.
Gary was Fantastic for United
😂😂😂 he was average at best! 0 attacking ability!
It gets said every week but this is definitely the best football podcast type show around. Amazing viewing every week
If Southgate is appointed, we’ll tear down OT ourselves
Shouldn't take much tearing, it's already falling down
Bit ironic considering you've never been to the stadium before
Falling down already lad hahaha
Have you ever actually been to old trafford?
@@bartman01021988 yes I have
The possibility that some United players want Southgate is the reason of all reasons not to go near him
Exactly. It’s time the players are held accountable and it’s time to look at other areas of improvement. The manager is good. We need to help with the proper structure in place. This one time change other things and let the manager have one good season. He deserves it
What players want Southgate? And what evidence is there to support this claim?

We need to stop disrespecting Garry. He was one the best right backs England ever had.
He was but it doesn't mean it isn't one of the easier positions

Roy’s T-Shirt Sinead O Connor what a legend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That rivalry between United and Arsenal, Arsene and SAF, Keane and Viera was something else. Top quality players all over the pitch, aggression, pace. I’d put that ahead of anything I’ve seen since in the EPL.
EPL is a product because of the confluence of TV rights reaching all parts of the globe and UTD vs ARS 1998-2003.
Spot on mate. Utd arsenal matches back then were blood and thunder and jam packed with quality
@@KratosIsSick uhh yeah, we all know how TV rights have influenced the game, bud
The nostalgia of that Giggs goal. I’d been a naughty boy and sent to bed early as a punishment so I was listening to it on the radio with my headphones on under the covers. I then waited for my parents to go to bed so I could sneak downstairs and put BBC News 24 on and see it. Those were the days!
One of the best in ages. Roy needling Gary from the start was just comedy gold! Love it! Thanks! 🙏👍
I feel like I'm in an alternate universe. Southgate shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Man Utd. His credentials are underachieving with England and getting Middlesbrough relegated.
Underachieving?
England hadn't been to a Semi Final in 30 years.
They hadn't been in a Final for 60 years.
Also, Klopp got FSV Mainz 05 relegated from the Bundesliga and won NOTHING.
Yet he still got the Dortmund job.
Don't forget, Sven and Capello FAILED to get past the Quarters with a team full of Champions League winners. So Southgate has already done better than them.

Absolutely gold, watching Gaz, trying to fight a double tag team now, with Keano & wrighty is magic!
Roy with the Sinéad O'Connor tshirt. Love it
Daily Star is where the Southgate “rumour” comes from and then ends up getting discussed on here. Track the source… it’s literally a piece for reaction. United fans see it get annoyed, rival fans see it and laugh. Just using United to create noise during the international break.
True. I’m convinced they had the piece ready to go straight after the Liverpool game thinking Liverpool would win and Ten Hag would be sacked. Then the decision was made to run the story anyway. Find it ‘strange’ the timings of these pieces that come out and I’m hoping there’s no truth to it whatsoever
@@smsm-xb1lt yeah 100%. Haven’t won much in the last 10 years but still sell those papers and get those clicks don’t we 😂 I think ten Hag stays. We’ve wasted 10 years, let him see out his contract at least. SJR said yesterday on that Geraint Thomas podcast that Arsenal did well to give Arteta time… says a lot for his plans. 2 maybe 3 finals and a trophy in 2 seasons and a 63% win rate buys him a season under a proper structure for me.
Spot on, but isn't that in itself the problem and needs to be called out? They hate that we have a foreign, non media darling manager. They have shat on him since day 1 when their favourite Poch didn't get the job. And unfortunately negativity, whether true or not, breed negativity. In the 🗑

Good on Gary for defending himself. He was one hell of a right back and one hell of a player!

I think Gary's take on which position is the most difficult is 100% spot on. GK and CF are both the two most isolated positions. CF you have to be insanely patient and, like he said, receive the ball with your back against play. GK you're inside your own head the entire game and have to be on it immediately when called upon, and every single mistake is scrutinized.
I love you guys. Thanks for the great show. I look forward to it every week.

Regarding the lower clubs needing the FA cup the replays, I recently learned that in Germany they automatically give the home game to clubs in the third tier and lower. That could be a great thing to implement in the FA cup, I think.
This would be great for the finance but playing devil's advocate it would Rob some players of a chance to play in huge stadiums with so many fans some may never get that chance

On the rivalries between City vs Liverpool & United vs Arsenal -
In order to play against Pep you can either play counter attack like Ole & Jurgen had joy with or you have to play better in possession than his teams
But United vs Arsenal were firery encounters where all types of football were on display and although Pep has revolutionised the modern game, he has also taken pure football away from us also
Pure football? All these phrases are bs play in those emotional rash games and you get those 5-4 unpredictable score lines letting the occasion get to your head control is more efficient yes that football makes a good watch but it’s too unpredictable winning is the goal
