Scrapchat 85 11th February 2023: Ok, so I've been asked so many times for this video, I had to take the original video down, so this one doesn't show the refiners or the location but does show how the boards are graded and what they are worth, Enjoy! Benny update: unfortunately we are back in hospital, he has a serious infection and needs an operation as a result, we are waiting for a transfer in the next couple of days, but as ever he is being a little trooper and fighting really hard!

/ @sollersshortsmore9896 Sollers shorts & more channel for more about me and what I get up to!
If you are new here, I can't currently commit to a regular livestream due to my daughters complex needs so I do a regular weekly Wednesday night scrap chat premier as a way of chatting and keeping in touch with you guys whilst showing what I've been up to during the week.
I also am a bodycam girl, it isn't for everyone, if you get dizzy or seasick them bodycam isn't for you! I've tried a tripod on my bench but it just isn't practical, I don't have the space, hopefully when I get my bigger workshop next year I can set up a tripod and lose the bodycam, but for now I work with what I've got!
I'm fully licenced for my area and ask prior permission for items inside skips and so far nobody has ever said no, they want the extra space :) I still do quick dives to avoid passing comments, especially as I'm usually out in the evening.
Some lovely people have asked to send me the odd gift, to avoid us both extra fees (shipping for you and forwarding address fees for me) I have, like many finally set up an Amazon wish list. If there is something you would like to send that isn't on my list, then email me on the address on my about page and I'll add the product in if it's available on amazon UK. Any gifts to my forwarding address are of course still welcome and very much appreciated too!! You can email me on the address on my about page. Lots of resin moulds on my wish list too ;)
www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/...
Sometimes Amazon plays up and my address doesn't come up in other territories or with non amazon products. If this happens but you still want to get me something off of my list you can send me a friends and family PayPal and tell me what to purchase. You may have to work out the cost in other currencies. I'll do a video shout out when they arrive 🙂

Cha-Ching! Nice!
I wish I had a bin of ceramic CPUs like you showed at the scrapyard! Wow!
I was driving at the time when I heard the notification ,but watching now ma'am. 🙏💪❤
Thanks GulfCoast 🙂
Yes I remember the original video, it was a real eye opener to see how they sorted boards, made ingots and all the other activities carried out. Hope all is OK. 👍
Thanks 🙂
I'd forgotten about the tin wraps! Thanks for the reminder! 😊😊
What tin wraps. That went by me
@@tonyperrin3409 The wraps on champagne bottles are tin and not aluminium!
Very nice sharing dear. I enjoy watching.
Great scrap run for one of your first videos. Hope everything at home is great for you. Love you from the states
Thank you 🙂
Awesome! Great video onces again!
Thanks buddy 🙂
Really cool to see someone showing off this process.
Thank you, I really love doing it🙂
@@SollersScrappingandDiving How long have you been at it?
@@andyweins only since 2020 really, mostly bits and bobs in my life up until that point 🙂
Cheers for uploading this again, been looking for it for a while. Prayers still with you.
Thank you Chris 🙂
Always great to watch, keep doing it..
Thanks JC🙂
What a haul eh would love to save all electrical boards.....uve given me and my mate a renewed interest in boards and gold retrieval SO THANKS....JULIAN WEST MIDS SCRAPPERS
They definitely add up for some nice money 🙂👍 Thanks for watching 🙂
Great video loved it
Glad you enjoyed it🙂
Wow! That was a nice haul in ! Good job !
Thanks, I was very happy with it 🙂
Great video very helpful 👍👍👍
Thanks, glad it was helpful!🙂
Just the video I was looking for! Isn't youtube great?
Many thanks for the info!
Oh good, glad I could help 🙂
Nice to have some one in the UK coming at the scrappies with such specific questions, helps a lot and saves me a shed load of time by learning it from you rather than going to the scrappie myself as everyone else so clearly spoken is American.
Can you do more on what you find specifically good to collect (what to pick an what to leave) 🤙 thank you again is class.
Hi, yes I will👍 I've found a new buyer to try too so will review that at some point when I build my boards back up 🙂 Thanks for watching and for your feedback 🙂
Awsome video
Thank you 👍
Nice stock of mixed boards hope you make more videos.
Thank you 🙂More to come!
So glad you put this back up. I think Michelle at the refiners must be fed up of me asking questions all the time 😆
I can't mention the specific refiners but glad to be of help lol
Wow indeed Sollers ! That was a great payout ! Now you just need to get the coordinates of the Secret Shed for a bigger payday !! 😄😄
You got that right!😂
Guten Abend, vielen Dank für dein tolles Video 👍 Gruß Siggi und Marianne 🔔🎹 schönen Samstagabend
Thank you 🙂
Nice payday. Thanks fir the information
Thank you, my pleasure 🙂
Nice video. Informative. Will really need a supplier in order to shift that amount of boards in such a short time, like £1000 in a few days. You got lucky with a couple of schools. In time you can get a load by street scrapping though, maybe a year or two of saving the boards. Worth it in the long run as my scap yard loacal only pays steel price for them.
Thanks. Yes I used to go street scrapping regularly but circumstances haven't made it possible for a while. Would love to get back to it if our little one makes a good recovery. These days I just have a few skip raids!
Nice boards nice video
Thank you 😊
I always peel off metal sides off ram so I can toss in with reg ram .
I do mostly too but sometimes a batch will take off the chips too and so I leave them well alone, need to think of an easy way to melt the glue and not devalue them. The ones that just clip on are a dream to pop off, I wish they were all like that!
👍
Excellent recycling and payout :-)
Thank you🙂
@@SollersScrappingandDiving and thank you for the sticker :-)
@@ScrapPalletMan you're very welcome, it was a nice surprise to see it after so long🙂 There will be a new one sometime soon. Also, I meant what I said in the card about how inspiring you are, your journey is inspirational and you do a wonderful job, thanks for sharing it with us🙂
@@SollersScrappingandDiving 🙂
Great film, very informative, hope your out of hospital soon, you probably are now?
Thank you. We are technically home but in and out all the time between the chemotherapy rounds for blood transfusions and infections are a constant issue but at least we are finally home!🙂
LOL - I was wondering how many times you were going to go back to the ceramic chip bin 🤣 Maybe I should start drinking again in order to the the tin wraps? Good price for the colored small socket MB roughly $2.60/lbs equivalent. We're getting around $1.15/lbs. Always fun to see how different yards grade ewaste around the world. All in all, a nice ewaste run.
Thanks Shark, yes I thought the prices were pretty good🙂
Non of the scrap yards round me take ewaste as in boards , but will take as standard mixed light scrap.
They can be hard to find sadly!
That's a lot of gold!
Sure is, thanks for watching 🙂
Great pay day x
Thank you, it certainly was🙂
arr missed you
Was just a quick one!
Have you tried removing and selling the strip of gold pins on eBay. Great video
No I haven't actually, before I had a board buyer I used to cherry pick gold off of the best gold fingers and chips, I just build up those gold bits, but snipping the gold of the TV boards etc to sell is a great idea. I tend to leave the better fingers more often than not to get more for the boards! Thank you 🙂
You are a female E Waste Ben. I know the good stuff is almost impossible to find these days in 2023. Still fun to look ☺️.
Haha those are certainly big shoes to fill, I wish I was on the same scale as @ewasteben
🙂
😘😘😘😘
I so need to find somewhere that buys this sort of scrap got a bit saved up now any help please love the video 👍🏻
What area are you in? There is a refiners in Essex that buys boards and anything that has gold connectors etc, look up AWA if you are local to them and can go in person, I can't vouch for their postal service though as I don't use it. I'm saving up to try a more local place too which is in Kent but I haven't tried them yet so can't recommend until I do
Hi again! How do you find places that will take your scrap? I am struggling to find anywhere
I had to do a lot of searching on Google and talking to others in the community, it wasn't easy and there are not many around that take Weee waste sadly!
Nice video could you tell me where you sell the boards please😊
This was AWA in Essex but I'm saving up my boards to try a new one that I've found closer, I'll do a video on it when I've been👍
Hi there, did you have to remove anything from the boards before they accepted them? Like heat sinks ect?
Hi, you don't have to but it can downgrade your board in a lot of places so it is worth taking them off of anyboard higher than a powerboard in my opinion👍
@@SollersScrappingandDiving brilliant thanks, I don't suppose it was the a place in Leeds you went 😜
@@swifty2844 ah I'm afraid not, it was a place down south 🙈😉
Hello can you make a video on how much investment would we need to doing a scrap metal business in uk? Can you guide me about that…. And also tell me about pros and corns about scrap metal business thanx! From Pakistan😊
Thanks for your message. That isn't really something I can advise on as I just do it on a very small scale so I can only show from a small scale one woman operation 🙂
Interesting video! How long does it take you to disassemble this amount of equipment normally?
It depends on lots of factors and what the boards are from but computers, office ip phones and routers can be taken apart really quickly when you get into a rhythm. I'm a hobby scrapper but if I have a block of time I can do about 6-8 pcs an hour, it becomes much faster and easier if you can do a block of the same make as you get into a real rhythm👍. IP phones literally take a minute to dissemble for a tasty little board, they are so easy but there is a lot of plastic waste!
That's pretty speedy! And you definitely seem to get a lot of enjoyment from your hobby! I am in the industry - we are essentially doing the same as you just at an industrial scale :)@@SollersScrappingandDiving
@@Kingdom12 That is because my aim was for it to become a part time business, I got my liscences so I could officially collect from businesses and it was going really well, but then my youngest got diagnosed with cancer and obviously no time for a hobby anymore, but one day I'll be back in the full swing! Doing it on an industrial scale sounds amazing, I'd love it!!
50 % tin in solder as well
True!
Prays are with you . did they ask to take address down it I watch it when last time it a good pay day circuit board I've been doing e scrap for about 3 year 🤗👍❤⌨📷📺📟💷💷💷💷👍🇬🇧
Hi really appreciate your videos, how do I find this place ? I can’t find anywhere near me?
I have been accumulating loads and I have no idea where to go??
If you Google ewaste refiners near me you might have some luck. This is AWA in Essex which was good for me in person but I can't vouch for anything other than in person. Hope that helps 🙂
Omg only just seen your reply still been saving thankyou
Where I can find scrap yard that will take different grades of boards? Any proper company in UK or how to look for them? One place next to me pays for all boards (motherboards etc) 15p/kg... Another one pays for motherboards 1.50/kg and anything else as scrap steel... Got 15-20 crates to sort out in my garage...
Lovely amount to go through!! Instead of searching scrap yards that will take them, try looking up 'gold refiners near me' or e-waste/weee waste buyers and you might have more luck👍
Do you know what kitchen appliances go in as?
Do you mean the pcb's? They will probably just go in with monitor boards, basically low low grade, but if they happen to have IC chips then potentially slightly higher like mini router as they can have some gold pins, but definitely not if they have a lot of bass metal like capacitors etc
Do you fancy Grading my 3 builders bags full ?
Sure, just give me the address to your secret location 😉
@@SollersScrappingandDiving ahhhhhhh. Even @scrapping Irish got Blindfolded,
Where do you find all the computers?
From school pick ups mainly 🙂
@@SollersScrappingandDiving very cool, do you just call them and tell them what you do? I'd like to get some sources so I was just curious, thanks!
Hi would be able to let know we’re I can sell my board in the uk 😊
I went to AWA refiners in Essex in person (so can't vouch for their postal service) but I've found one much closer to me in Kent so I'm building my boards back up to try there to compare, it will be a while but I'll put out a video when I've got enough to give them a try 👍
Thank you 🙏
where did you take them
A place in Essex, will probably compare other places too though!
@@SollersScrappingandDiving Any chance to get a name/location as I'm in Essex and will have to take my bits somewhere in few weeks time.

Yep, a girl E Waste Ben.
😂
Hey! Is it just a general Scrapyard you take your E-waste to or a recycling centre? I'm trying to find a place near me but Google search is not very helpful!
Hi, No this place is a refiners who specialise, try googling refiners if you haven't already 👍I'm trying a new one soon so can update a bit more hopefully. Not sure where you are located, I'm in the South East
@SollersSrappingandDiving Oooooh, I see! That probably explains why it's not so easy when searching scrapyards haha! I'm located between Southampton and Bournemouth, so there should hopefully be some nearby. I will keep my eyes peeled for your new content! Keep it up, you're doing an absolutely amazing job!
@@bensharp5087 thanks Ben🙂 There are not many refiners but this one is in Essex👍
Would you share the details of your refinery please as I have a few boards in the south west but I keep getting ripped off by my local but this guy seems fair
Certainly, the company is AWA in Essex, I can only vouch for an in person visit though, I can't vouch for their postal service as I don't use it, hope this helps 👍
@@SollersScrappingandDiving thank you very much for that i will contact them I have around 50 kilo of computer boards and lots of chips and ram even some full computers I just am not very good at sorting it and I am scared that I will get ripped off cheers
@@bboy7324 no problem, definitely best off going in person so they can talk you through the grading of your boards 👍
