      Well, #Sreetips shows and tells it all. This person isn't telling you the dangers of them fumes. He isn't telling you the amounts needed per gram of each to make the inquartations etc. Breaking the gold button down to smaller bits gets you better results. Hes good but no King.

    You should have NOT done the first melt. All that does is make it hard to dissolve things later. You also don't need the silver inquart. Dissolve the gold flecks in aqua regia. This will go quickly as the metal is in thin flake form. Then add a little sulfuric acid to precipitate any lead. Neutralize the excess nitric acid with urea or sulfamic acid. Then precipitate out the gold with sodium meta-bisulfite, rinse with HCl & water, & catch on the filter paper & melt.

      From my experience, there is no silver between copper and gold. I sent a sample of my recycled gold to a smelter and they confirmed 999/1000 purity. That's just melted gold flakes as received after the etching process, no further refining.
      Some PCB manufacturers use Nickel-Gold for plating, that results in a very fine gold powder which I do not collect. Only very cheap PCI cards have that. The gold strips I have are from servers and they seem to use "better" gold.

      @DieLuftwaffel Před rokem +3

      I don't think so because gold doesnt chemically bind to the iron that makes the black sand, they are just found together at times. At best if you had a ton of black sand with no visible nuggets, and invested a huge amount of money in materials, you may find an absurdly small amount of gold in tons of sand that were not found the traditional way simply because they were microscopic bits.
