We don't really have to worry about human-to-human transmission unless it's manipulated in a lab...

      Spanish influenza
H1N1 1918/1919 Had mammalian and avian genes 25-50 million deaths

Asian influenza H2N2 1957 Avian virus reassortment 1 million deaths
Hong Kong influenza H3N2 1968 Avian virus reassortment 1 million deaths
What's concerning is this Bird flu (Avian Influenza) virus has already killed huge numbers of birds, and is evolving, as a lot of wild mammals that have become infected died too, so we know its pretty nasty. The two humans are still alive due to the antiviral treatment. But it will be interesting to see the numbers after 100 people become infected. If 10 die, then it will be many times more dangerous than Covid.
Models have shown that once a 5% death rate is reached that most first responders like police Fire and Ambulance refuse to turn up. That causes a break down in social order, and those that survive form gangs. And the US will become like Haiti, lawless. Plus the fear of death rises due to bodies not being collected. You'll see many antivaxers suddenly start begging for a vaccine.

In Phoenix our dogs love to eat goose poop when we walk them near a pond in a city park. Both had a respiratory issue (coughing/wheezing) that lasted from late December to early March. They are better now but vet didn't know what it was.
