FActs people should start giving back and start thinking about others and helping eachother like im from galloway in scarborough and its just the same as jane but not as much shootings but it is still a bad area and tings
i grew up galloway in the late 80s and 90s was bad back than too but it seems to be getting better, behind 4301 it was a open air drug market for many years.
Gazanuhgully I grew up in G way too Ann Marie Hill Housing Co-op to be exact and I still try to go back there at least once a month and just help ppl out I still don’t have too much money but I give what I can because the hood raised me and I wanna give back to it as it made me who I am today
As a person who lives in Canada while at the same time being in high school, I saw the change people went through as soon as they landed in high-school. I can see and imagine the types of stuff y’all go through, I wanna appreciate u for all the thing u do bro. The world needs more people like u and ur team bro ❤️
The world needs more men like this one! Better reporting than most professional pieces I see on TV. I grew up in in a single parent family in community housing. But our building had fantastic pool, with lifeguards. That was a looong time ago. But it saved us kids! Multi racial community was my norm and it was great!! We all swam all day long together; all shades and sizes. The city took care of it all. These kids deserve the SAME. I went to my old building in Scarborough (Lived there from jk to end of grade 8) and when I saw they had filled the pool in, I started to cry. Shocked me. A huge part of our lives. We all slept so well at night cause we were tired! But the joy it brought us and we all felt good about our home, like we were living in nice condo. Very HAPPY memories. I wish - PRAY. - they put a pool in - with proper life guards for these kids too!!! That they restore the pools in all community housing. It truly changed our lives - I’m not kidding!! And the kids enjoyed it soooo much - you never did anything to get kicked out. ;) Anyway - I wish you the best and hope to see you on TV someday. Thanks so much for sharing!! ❤️ Best!!!!
Your an angel sent from the heavens to help those less fortunate and these kids need to understand that there's a big world waiting for them. And your helping see the true colors. peace brother
I wish I could see more of this in Toronto. They think more gun laws & policing is going to stop the gang violence. New flash: it's not! These kids are BORED with no accessible programs!! I grew up knowing bare people who would rather be at camp playing ball, or even at cadets than being one the streets, but they didn't have that option. Our city has to do better. We the people have to do better
Very well made documentary, it has a vice documentary feel to it. You should highly consider doing more of these. Very entertaining and short and sweet.
Im glad someone decided to make something on this area. I moved here 5 months ago in the winter, and thought it was bad but the news has never covered how bad it actually is. Want to leave Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan to Jane and Finch/Steels? Really isn't much of a step down. Every day there are shootings and gun wars. Not a single news crew in sight. Not a single reporting over these hourly gun wars. Canadian news sources should be ashamed. Good job dude, keep the videos coming!
NEVER LISTEN TO MAINSTREAM MEDIA .....ITS FAKE....THEY NEVER TELL THE TRUTH. THE BLACK COMMUNITY IS NOT ALL BAD. I HAVE BLACK COUSINS. I HAVE BLACK FRIENDS. CARRIBEAN PEOPLE AND AFRICANS R NICE PEOPLE. PLEASE START HAVING POSITIVE VIBES. IN EVERY COMMUNITIES THERES GOOD AND BAD. AND GANGS SO ON. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!
I only saw this video today but I really hope you're still doing what you're doing. My grand parents were superintendents of the main group of buildings at Jane & Finch back in the mid to late 70s. It was a different place back then. I remember how bad it got after they moved and the Ontario Housing Projects took over the neighborhood. I was always so scared for the children. It gives me hope and comfort that theres people like you there to help as much as you can.
Great video, very nice to see people helping their community. Would be great to see follow up videos every once in awhile, also interviews with the kids
This man and their staff deserve an award. More funding for these kinds of programs as well. Instead we have money going towards new subway stations and other shit that just makes the lower class more poor.
I pray for protection over you and those sweet little prince and princesses. You're doing an amazing thing, I grew up in Jane and Finch and over the years the violence has definitely gotten worse. You are so appreciate king. Keep doing what you do and I hope more young men like yourself join you in trying to make the community better.
This is so sad & disturbing, I pray for all these kids who grow up in these dangerous areas. My heart just broke 😔 I hope one day these things just come to an end. This guy is such a good human being ❤️
Cant believe the gangs ? Guns? WOW !!!! I used to go down there in the early 90s around the building projects at 2 or 3 am from Hamilton to get crack!!! Meet in staircases with strangers with guns one time....I'm clean and sober 10years..looking back this video gives me memories of how lucky I was !!! God bless..respect to these guys!!!!!
I've lived at Weston Rd. and Finch since 1975 just next door to you guy's, and yes Black Creek and Pioneer Village were considered very bad, but now thanks to guy's like you the area is changing. All the power to you guys and remember that their are people out there who respect what you guy's are doing.
Wow this was inspiring man - you're doing God's work by keeping these kids on the right path. Can't be easy but your heart and efforts are in the right place. Don't let anyone tear you down. As long as you're still able to provide for yourself first, keep doing what you're doing - those little tykes will appreciate it later!
They need more programs like this but more for high school kids. Kids are just kids in elementary school but once they go to high school. They need the most help
Born in Humber River Urgent Care Centre near Jane and Finch right by Oakdale. I moved to Scarb when I was 3 and it's closed now but I have some memories from being a baby.
Driftwood right before the J&F Mall? White Russian immigrant boy living and running up and down that area. Loved all, was loved by all! Yorkgate was a bit higher class, but I still love all in the area.

Hi, Great video, and thank you for sharing this video. I am Korean and currently living in Toronto. I am planing to shoot a video to let Koreans in Toronto know more about Jane & Finch. They just think that Jane&Finch is a dangerous neighborhood without knowing anything about it. May I have your email address? I would like to ask you some questions regarding Jane & Finch and meet you when I visit there. Thank you,
Does anyone know how I can get in contact with the man in this video? I have some ideas for helping the youth in Toronto and would like to talk in person with him.
So good to see these young black men taking back their own community, no child left behind...

This is incredible! This guy is of the finest humans!!!
he's representing his race well, definitely a man of integrity to help the youth.
When a white man does something good for his community, do you also say he represents his race?
