I think judges shouldn't be allowed to block one another once their chairs are turned for the reveal & choosing the coach a contestant likes.
Today agree. Contestants are barred from working with their once in a lifetime dream coach for the potential of being eliminated in the earlier singoffs.

Never watched the show before but I had to hear somebody sing Whitney. It was wrong to block her out. Just wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Beautiful performance.

I don't like the fact that they can hit the block button after they have turned . That button should be removed from competition. The contestant should be able to choose who they want from the coaches that turn.
I don't think the coaches should be able to block each other or at the very least the singer auditioning should have the ability to override it.
It's total BS when the show added that button.

I think that was so rude of Rita to do that!! You can tell she was very upset with that performance with Jess in there and she should not have had the chance to block AFTER the performance was done!! I feel so sorry for the performer and then gets dumped from the show so sad 😞

I’m not really into the drama with judges and the blocking, etc., all I know is unless you have a ton of soul, DON’T try to cover Whitney Houston! Yes, it was nice but it lacked the toe-curling magic that Whitney brought to it.
I felt the exact same way. Her voice is beautiful but not made for a Whitney song like that.
She song it good, it's okay to honor a person who you admire, even if you can sing it exactly like them. We all love Whitney and her beautiful voice. Peace and Love to all..

I know the dreamers (like me) couldn't bare the block. But it was a classic move by Ruthless Rita. More power to her. But on this occasion...it was the wrong move all round. However... it highlighted Jess more to me. And I like her even more now! It also highlighted Rita more to me... and I like her even more now too! I've seen two of Rita's blocks and she's a mean girl about it. I have no respect for her, now. That wasn't a block. It was a steal. [Edit: Rita also blocked Chloe from the rest of us.]
For a Whitney Song and I always heard different singers but the problem with this one it lacks the emotion that the song needs. I think that can be the reason as to why the other coaches did not turn. Sure she can do the technicals but the power of the song in terms of the message I don't feel it.

You shouldn't be allowed to FORCE a person to work with you (even if the singers have to state that in their audience contract). IF this button and situation exists again, the blocker should be forbidden to kick the singer in 1-2 rounds. Maybe that will make coaches to think carefully about their block power and how they play with singers real lives.

I don’t get it . Why block and fight for her when you are just going to let her go almost immediately.
Her voice is more nasal than Whitney's and not quite as rich. She got the fluttery high notes down but she doesn't have as much base in her voice. She sounds great, but nobody sounds exactly like Whitney did for a brief moment in time. Even Whitney couldn't duplicate her former self 3 years later.
