      Hi there!
      Thank you for reaching out! To begin the process, you have to apply to be accepted into the Canadian Dentistry Equivalency Process through the NDEB. As long as you have a recognized dental degree, you should be accepted. The first exam is AFK (Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge). After you pass this exam, you have two options: continue the equivalency process and take ACJ (Assessment of Clinical Judgment) and ACS (Assessment of Clinical Skills) or you can apply to a Canadian University and do a two-year bridging program.
      At the end of both routes (Equivalency or University), you will need to take the board exams to get your license and start practicing. At Prep Doctors, we have courses and support at every stage of the process. See our website for more details about our courses: www.prepdoctors.ca.
      For registration and specific details about the exams, visit the NDEB website: ndeb-bned.ca/en/requirements.

    • @PrepDoctors
      @PrepDoctors  Před 3 lety

      Hi, Doctor!
      Dr. Lohi is currently in the equivalency process. All dentists who want to practice in Canada must follow Canadian standards and criteria, which are often different from other countries worldwide. To prove they can uphold these standards, all foreign-trained dentists must have their work and knowledge assessed in a four-part dental equivalency process overseen by The National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB).

      The passing grade for AFK is 75% on the exam, however a competitive grade to apply to any IDAAP program with in university is 85+. Please keep in mind, universities now look at an ADAT score rather than an AFK score from 2022 onward. AFK is now shifting to a pass/fail basis.
