I have been making a lot of things for gifts. I'm making cross body messenger bags for some grandkids, hanging bags for daughter and daughters in law, kleenex box covers with matching toilet paper covers, kitchen boas, and memory folded star ornaments for my son and my other son's wife. They both had to put their very old dogs to sleep this year, so I make the ornaments with a picture of the dog on it. I also made a unicorn and rainbow quilt for my youngest granddaughter for her birthday in September.

I've made these bags but I didn't use the foam padding. Might have to try this the next time.

If you use a pre-fab zipper (not zipper by the yard), what length do you recommend and do you still use the faux leather ends?
Hi Sandi! As close as you can get to the panel width. No need for the ends if your zipper stops stay in tact. Happy sewing!
i did pan laps ( to hold hot pans), quillows- quilt in a pillow, totes that get in to a corner of the tote like a strawberry ,

How long would it take to make one of these bags if you assembly line and making more that one. Would make great gifts. Not much time left before Christmas.
