You can definitely hear Peter’s voice weakened by the time A Matter Of Loaf & Death came out but it’s commendable he kept voicing the character for so long especially seeing how Grand Day Out was just a small job he did for £50
Peter passed away in 2017 I think but he retired voicing Wallace after a close shave and a new actor did him after that that’s why the voice changes

If we're indeed being technical, this isn't a cameo by Shaun. "A Close Shave" was where he first appeared, he had a pretty large role, and his own spin-off show came years later.
