So , upon the release from prison , the felon gets assistance , some programs to help them get on their feet , including employment . That's fine and dandy because everyone deserves opportunities and new chances to start anew . BUT the same brother who has a clean record , some college education , and has found himself unemployed , doesn't hear about those same jobs used for the program . It's like you have to be stamped or tagged as a convict to receive a play .
You ain't 🐂💩'n, I was trying to get on with a major train company for years and never caught a break yet I have a friend who was offered a position at the end of a 15 year Fed bid.
It all depends on the situation. Best believe if you got felony convictions you not getting a federal job after they do that background check. I got priors and always have to answer for that when my background check come back. My skill set, education and they way I conduct my business verbally allows me to overcome the initial red flag of a prior felony conviction but federal government jobs are automatically off limits. Get the degree or certification and it will open the door. It's what you do with that opportunity once you step through it.
