Nice tutorial. FWIW, I think the technical term for a "revolving melodic phrase" that stays the same while the underlying chords and bass change is "ostinato". It's not quite the same as a pedal tone, as that would usually be a single sustained note. An ostinato is more like a riff, although it's usually a (catchy) background element rather than the main hook.
I realized some time ago, while analyzing other tracks and annotating elements, that I often call things “arpeggios” in electronic music that are more often perhaps better described as an ostinato. I don’t fully understand the difference though as the lines are a little more blurry in electronic music as arps tend to be repeating patterns that may also define an ostinato.

But a lot of the old classical theory terms don't work perfectly with modern loop-based music. We can make "arpeggios" that are more complex than just playing three notes in order, and "ostinatos" that aren't as rigid as they were in the classical definition. That said, I think it's fair to say that most arps are also ostinatos, but not all ostinatos are arps. But everyone understands contemporary words like loop, riff, and pattern, so I'd tend to stick with using those where possible unless you have something that completely fits into the accepted definition of arpeggio or ostinato.

I’m kind of a dummy about music, but in my attempts to learn electronic music specifically, sometimes just having a good understanding of terms can, if nothing else, help to frame better understanding of the underlying concepts. For example, if my understanding between cats and dogs is: they are pretty much the same because they are both domesticated, small, 4-legged mammals. Then, I really don’t understand them well.
