MEET THE ORCHESTRA | MIDSUMMER DREAMS | EMMA WILLIAMS
This week, our principal violinist Emma Willams is videoing in from Europe where she’s been researching historical acting techniques and postures in The Netherlands - exploring how these might have affected musical performance practice in the early 19th century. This is something we’ve been exploring as an orchestra during our rehearsals for the Midsummer Dreams tour.
Emma will be bringing along her violin made by a French instrument maker Bourlier à Mirecourt in the 1820s, during the lifetimes of Beethoven and Mendelssohn - perfect for our concerts!
