    Hey there. Great content enjoying watching the older videos currently. Im lucky enough to be starting a apprenticeship with DAF and they let you buy a whole toolbox at a lower price paying it off monthly on scheme from your wages. Keep the good work

    I'd definitely agree on the tools when you start out, the main tools that get used hard are worth getting quality stuff, otherwise if the the cheaper less used tools do the job it's money in your pocket instead of snap on man's. That said I can see why it's easy to get drawn in to the snap on scheme, bit of a pilgrimage from the workshop when the van turns up!

    • @freightlanetv
      @freightlanetv  Před 2 lety

      Yeah definitely if I buy cheap say pry bars etc don’t be moaning if they break while your trying to leaver a tyre on 😂 yeah I agree can turns up see lots of shiny stuff haha but like I say in the video there are some really good Snapon/Mac dealers that can be really helpful and do a good deal.

    been through a few snapon air guns never the same after being repaired needed a short term replacement and got a aircat gun would recommend this make to apprentices very strong even upping it to 3/4 sockets and very affordable.

    100% agree i always suggest apprentices buy halford to start with ,if they use a socket enough and it breaks then replace it with snap on ,,No point them spending £200 pound on sockets and only use the 13 and 17mm ..Once they are qualified and know they want to stay in the trade ,get a decent wage then buy the snap on ...Oddly the 1st thing the buy is an airgun then start breaking bolts with it ..Theres an 8 mm bolt get the 1/2 inch gun on it ,,oh look it sheared ,wasn't my fault lol

    • @freightlanetv
      @freightlanetv  Před 2 lety +1

      Halfords tools I find are very good especially like starter sets etc, and I 100% agree mate, if you break your cheaper sockets then buy more expensive stronger ones! Yeah I’ve never understood that, if I started again now first thing I’d buy is a Halfords large set with loads of sockets and spanner’s in.

      Yep, never lend anything out. People don't value anything given to them, only when they've earnt it and shelled out. My younger brother rang me to borrow all my tools while I was away for 2 weeks once, came back and he'd left the box outside! Wouldn't admit to how long for but even the screwdriver bits in cases were rusty. Spent a whole day in front of the buffer to sort it all out, never ever again.
