  • Learn how to fix a squeaky tensioner pulley in your car. The serpentine belt in your car powers the accessories such as air conditioning, power steering, the alternator, and water pump.
    Tensioner pulley wear will cause your pulley to squeak. A worn out pulley bearing or a worn spring in the tension pulley can also cause squeaking or a chirp. I will show you step by step how to remove the serpentine belt, replace the pulley, and tensioner and put the belt back on.

    I changed by belt tensioner from the bottom of the truck without having to take it all apart like what your doing. Just remove the skid plate and everything is accessible from there.

      Probably dumb question, would this method work on a 2001 tundra V8

      Pete your comment saved me so much time, it was night and day difference going from underneath after taking the skid plate off.

    Definitely faster from the bottom! Thank you for your Video it is here that I saw the comment of doing it from the bottom and thats what I did.

    it's much easier to remove the skid plate and do this from the bottom. only takes about 30 minutes that way.

      That’s what I was thinking too. I’m working on one right now. I don’t see why you have to spend 30 minutes to unscrew the fan and housing

    Great job, To ad to your work, use an extension to your socket and get some WD 40 or PBR Blaster for rusted bolts and stubborn fan housing removal. Again great job.

    Sergei my Toyota Sequoia 2004 pump belt come off. So I checked under the hood the propeller is wiggling. Can you show us how to fix it? Thanks

  • @ko6128

    My tensioner has no play like yours did. In that case is it ok to just replace the pulley and not the entire belt tensioner?

  • @KeepatIT69
    @KeepatIT69 Před 2 lety +2

    I just fixed mine by simply cleaning the pulley bearings with WD40 and regreasing the bearings in the pulley. Cost was about 50¢
    Let's see how long that lasts.

    Thanks very much for making this video. Would be nice if you put the year of the Tundra in the title. Think you said it is a 2015.

    Big fail putting China parts on a Toyota. Dayco makes the OEM parts for Toyota for anyone watching.

    I figured it out.....the Tundra will be able to route belt in 2-ways....Very unusual...but at the alternator, p/s pump and tensioner area, the belt will route two different ways. One routing way it will squeal, the correct diagram way NO squeal. Critical to route per diagram.

    I just found a Koyo bearing made in Japan, pressed it out on a vice and reused the pulley. The China made bearings are absolute garbage as well as the grease they use.
