  • The comparison between the SEBO D4 Series Full Size Canister Series.
We are comparing the 90641AM (white) and the 90640AM (Onyx). These models are almost nearly identical, however we will list how the Onyx model comes with a few additional accessories and warranty options.
Both the D4 models will clean all pile carpeting, and all hard flooring. They both come with an electric carpeting power head with 4 height settings for all pile / height of carpeting. Any time you have an electric power head, you get the deepest clean on your carpeted surfaces- all the way down to the base of your carpeting and we always recommend power heads if you have any carpeting or area rugs- especially if you have any allergy or asthma sufferers in your home. These models also come with a separate hard flooring attachment that will dust and vacuum your hard flooring simultaneously. What a time saver!
These models have a 40 foot cord. Yes, you read that right- 40 feet that retracts into the body of your canister. These full size canisters are almost impossible to tip over while cleaning (yes we tried!), and with the integrated tool storage these models have everything you need stored on the body, to ride around with you as you are cleaning. Paired with SEBO's extra large capacity bags that you can seal closed before you change, these machines are a total home cleaning dream.
The Onyx model does come with a few additional items, it comes with SEBO's Value Pack. This value pack contains a 9 foot extension hose, a 24" flexible crevice tool, a tool adaptor, a handheld upholstery attachment for carpeted stairs, upholstered surfaces or pet hair on furniture in the cars, and an upgraded parquet hard flooring attachment. The SEBO Onyx collection is only available to be sold by an authorized SEBO dealer in good standing (such as us!), please contact us for pricing, shipping, and sale details.

This comparison is very badly done the main differences is the black onyx edition gets a better warranty and more tools but there were no price comparison differences and mention if it was physically different in any way motor or performance or features the onyx edition is only mainly recommended if you purchase it through a dealer though. But an honesty if I was to purchase a vacuum cleaner above $400 I would not buy it from an online distributor and I would try to get it through a specialty dealer they sometimes throw in their own warranties and combinations of tools and whatnot!

I am in the market for a vacuum cleaner and interested in this model. One question - can these do spot cleaning for carpets or couches etc?

I checked your website. The 90640AM is not available. Why is that?

D4 does not have a one touch cord rewind. Because of a 40’ cord the cord button can be released to stop the cord to keep it from whipping you legs or damaging furniture.

Why review what appear to be two identical vacuum cleaners? Rather disconcerting the machines were not demonstrated in action. Puzzled in the UK. EDITED: I have now discovred/read the full description beneath the video play button. An altogether strange video review.
