Join us in celebrating Sasquatch Chronicles’ 500th episode. We’ll be welcoming Les Stroud to the show, and he sits down to talk about his journey as Survivorman and what lead him there, what he’s up to now, and of course, Sasquatch. Les will share with us some never before heard experiences, his opinion on what the creature is, and will give us some firsthand insight into some of the most memorable moments from Survivorman: Bigfoot.
Les Stroud is a Canadian survival expert, filmmaker and musician best known for his hit television series “Survivorman,” where he uses his skills and knowledge to survive completely alone in the wilderness for up to 10 days with limited or no ready access to water, food, and supplies. He is the “only producer in the history of television to produce an internationally broadcast series entirely written, videotaped and hosted alone.”
Les began his rich career as an outdoorsman in 1990 as a guide for Black Feather Wilderness Adventures leading canoe excursions into the Northern Ontario wilds. The time he spent there would lead him down the path to creating his first documentary, Snowshoes and Solitude, which was named “Best Documentary” at the Muskoka Film Festival and Best Film at the Waterwalker Film Festival. Stroud would go on to produce a collection of “specials” for The Discovery Channel Canada which laid the groundwork for “Survivorman” as a full-scale series, spanning 7 seasons and inspiring a long list of subsequent “survival”-themed television programs.
His interest in the “Sasquatch Phenomenon” (as he likes to refer to it) began at a young age and continued to grow as he spent more time in the outdoors, especially in remote locations which offer few, if any, concrete explanations for some of his more mysterious experiences.
Stroud dedicated an entire season of Survivorman to the mystery surrounding Bigfoot. He started the journey from a skeptic’s perspective - equally questioning and open-minded - in the pursuit of bringing legitimacy to the discussion of whether or not Sasquatch exists. He remains actively interested in the subject, subsequently conducting a handful of interviews expanding on his beliefs and divulging details from some of the unexplained encounters he’s had while out in the wilderness.

My sister and her friends saw one of these things and I saw three creatures on a sandbar on the Texas side of the Sabine River from the Louisiana side. They could have been bears but they certainly didn`t look like bears. The big one was on two legs. What`s strange is there`s a lot more evidence of Sasquatch than the big black cats people see in my region but I`ve seen three of those at very close range.

And you must also still believe in santa claus too. This is a total racket and I want in. Getting money for something that does not exist is the biggest racket going.
How do I get in on this money making game? I mean it, I just checked the prices for a bigfoot costume and they go for under $200 at Walmart.
      1. bigfoot never in history has killed or attacked anyone, and deer, bears, cougars, snakes have.
      2. bigfoot doesn't leave any poop, amazing
      3. bigfoot never dies and leaves bones to be found or scattered by other animals
      4. bigfoot is never seen on trail cam or clear video, always far away, not facing the camera, grainy footage that is about 10 seconds or less
      5. bigfoot never been hit by a car
      6. bigfoot doesn't migrate
      7. bigfoot is a primate, but primates are social animals who live in groups, not always seen solo like bigfoot
      8. Scientists know what lives 7 miles beneath the ocean, the dust mite that leaves dusty poop on your fan, but somehow they nor hunters can ever find a 9 foot tall, 1400lbs animal
      9. The guy who made the most famous bigfoot video admitted it was a hoax
      10. Not one hunter has shot a bigfoot, and it would be easy to shoot one and just say it attacked you and you defended yourself.
      11. bigfoot does not reproduce a family. Consider that animals are hunted to control their populations, and since this is not hunted there should be thousands of them. We never see baby bigfoots, they are always fully grown up.
One guy said "you can't find any bigfoot bones because it buries their own, they are very intelligent." Another guy said "you can't get bigfoot on a trail cam because the battery system for the camera emits a high pitch sound that bigfoot can hear and that warns him about the dangers of a camera." And another guy said "you never see them hit by cars or shot because when it does happen, the US government comes out of nowhere and tells everyone to just forget about what you have saw...these things are special and protected by the US government..." LOLOLOLLLLL!!!!!
You have to be a professonal excuse maker or super naive to believe in this, amazing how people will believe in those views, but not think about bigfoot never dying and leaving bones or pooping like everything else on earth. Amazing how it can exists without ever reproducing any offspring..

      @larrypero5233 Před 2 lety

@@mr.e6033 So what does that say about you when a "dunce" is able to ask you 10 questions, and you can't answer one? I mean the questions are extremely basic and yet you rather do name calling instead of educating others.
See, if you were really about bigfoot you would at least explain why he never dies, never defecates, never travels in packs like other primates, never faces the camera up close, never attacks or kills others, never leaves behind fur, never burned up in forrest fires, always seen fully grown, alone, far away, shaky camera, grainy footage, and short clips.
A man of your stature is expected to do way more than name calling or going by testimonials. A man of your stature is expected to answer anything basic. Now it is understood that nobody has all the answers, but gee wiz, you mean you can't explain why this creature hasn't been trapped and captured, or never dies?
Man, take your santa claus, easter bunny believing ass somewhere.

We have so many other humans still living in the wild forests for Indonesia, the Amazon, Philippines etc which has had no encounters with modern man…an island in the Indian Ocean is off limits to the public for example… Sasquatch had the entire country up to the Artic as their home..then the gold rush arrived and settlers came in…in less than 200 years we have almost pushed another species to extinction due to our encroachment. If you were told that there existed an a feather velociraptor over 12 feet tall you would laugh..but in New Zealand, the giant Moa existed and we killed them all to extinction. So many species lost to so called “intelligent “ modern man. Sasquatch is intelligent enough to avoid us. The great blue whales has a language and very intelligent..yet we killed so many only a handful are left.

Fantastic show, we have all had strange experiences, but our ego won't let most of us to accept them , I find upon reflection on some my own bizarre things they line up with other people's.

I love les' response for the people that say "I've been hunting for years, I've never seen anything!" I'm going to use that against my father in law. He says "I grew up in the Arkansas Ozark, never seen it, it's not real."

My uncle is a logger and he was like that but eventually he saw them. They were being terrorized for days before they finally called some natives who told them do not shoot them first of all because they haven't harmed anyone and if you instigate you're going to regret it. The last part stuck with me because it made me realise even if you manage to kill one youre probably only seeing the lookouts, the more athletic hunter types aren't going to be too happy about it.

Your talk with Wes on ep 500 was a great discussion . u shud have him as a guest on your podcast, sasquatch is a fascinating subject to speculate over. but even when u guys were talking about film and advancements in tech, that was cool shit to listen too as well. Some people are just on that similar wave length

les's episodes on bigfoot were the best on the subject . no one has come close to doing what he did . the truth about what happened or didn't happen is what made it great . l wish he could make more .

You are right there is nothing more frustrating when a interviewer interrupts the show with horrible ,and boring questions 😴, I usually will switch channels to find something else . I love the fact that you let the encounter be told! Then you might ask a question after it is told. Thank you!

I strongly believe that humans can sense when other "apes" are around. They are not like animals and your instincts fire a different signal. It's like being chased by a stranger in the dark with an added alien sensation to it. Apes scare me way more than any other creatures about.

I love the "Call them a liar" comments because I have been saying that to others as well! Are some people making up their stories? Maybe. With all the encounters out there can everyone be either a liar, delusional or mistaken? I dont think so. A percent has to be true and I think its a large percent.

I agree, you are an excellent interviewer. I get so impatient with interviewers who interview themselves. It's just such an ego thing you have the gift of restraint, and as you say it maintains a rhythm and a pace to the storyline. You don't butt in and add your commentary obtrusively
