  • In this video we spend time out in the field with a John Deere S770 combine equipped with a 28ft Shelbourne Reynolds CVS28 stripper header . The video talks about the class 7 combines specifications and how the Shelbourne Reynolds stripper head works. Viewers will also be able to ride along in the combine cab to see operators perspective. Watch for John Deere 8370R tractors with Brent 1082 Grain Carts hauling grain as well as John Deere 8295R tractors and 1795 planters seeding double crop soybeans behind the combine.

    I see nothing but advantages for farmers use this head for small grain, especially if it gives no mechanical issues. I bet their double crop soybeans are going to be good, as they now have a great bed to plant in weeks earlier than in the past. If this farmer has been using this header since 2008 that should prove to everyone that it's an asset to have. Most farmers I've ever known, if something didn't work they quickly got rid of it.

      As for wanting the scene to be longer. You can always go back and re-watch it. Also, you can slow you're youtube player down as much as you want. Just click the gear looking icon at the right hand bottom of the screen. I usually watch video's at + 1.75 unless it's something like this that I haven't seen before.

    When they harvest soybeans in the fall won’t they just get a ton of extra straw out the back of the combine? Will they have to go slower while combining? Will it be even more beneficial to have that extra straw? Over all it does look like a very nice machine though. Great video!

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  Před 5 lety +1

      No. The straw decays over the summer. What is left gets chopped up by the combine and helps hold the soil over the winter.

    Why don't most wheat farmers use this head and why not put in a 2nd crop of wheat instead of soy beans, field nutrition/burnout ? I enjoyed this great BTP episode. 🚜👍

    • @jacobsteitz4433
      @jacobsteitz4433 Před 5 lety +2

      Mark Stengel it is bad on the soil. Wheat and soybeans use different nutrients from the soil to grow well. If you don’t rotate crops then your using up all the nutrients that one crop needs until eventually those resources are exhausted.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  Před 5 lety +1

      The only thing that changed between a 600 and 700 is the technology on the inside. On the outside all that is different is the 6000 gps receiver and a camera port above the Deere logo on the back. On the inside a 700 is fully automated to adjust to changing crop conditions and it has the same chair and display screen as an 8R tractor.
