I believe in punishment fitting the crime. They did some unspeakable, things to a supe child. It wasn't just on a child but a child that was potentially the most powerful creature in the world. The most horrible part of the lobotomy scene is: they weren't making shit up. That's it. That was the procedure. Conscious and aware patient talking and all. They made scrambled eggs out of peoples brains with a spike until they couldn't put a coherent sentence together.
Lobotomies are one of those medical procedures that I think are so bizarre and obviously harmful that I find it very hard to believe anyone ever thought "this will help". Pretty horrifying to hear how popular it once was as a sort of cure-all for all sorts of (sometimes wrongly diagnosed) mental health issues. According to wikipedia the procedure continued as late as the 1980s in France but was abandoned in most other places in the 70s.
Mason Quinn, I think your reaction regarding Homelander torturing everyone is exactly what the show wanted us to feel. They were terrible people who got what was coming to them, but the thing is that Homelander still shouldn't have done what he did. It's the parallel storyline with Starlight vs. Firecracker, Colin and Frenchie, and Hughie and A-Train. Firecracker got what she deserved, too, but at the cost of Annie's whole image. Colin could have killed Frenchie and would have been well in his rights to do so, but he's a good person with morals and couldn't. And A-Train is on his redemption arc, but that doesn’t mean he deserves forgiveness, especially not from Hughie. But what Hughie said to Butcher is the whole point: it wasn’t about what A-Train (or Firecracker, or Frenchie, or the scientists) deserved -- it was about what Hughie needed for himself. And Homelander lacks the introspection to do that.
I think it's good that Hughie has moved on. Like he said, he doesn't want to have that hate within him for his whole life. He doesn't have to forgive him, but in doing so he becomes a stronger person
If you haven't been told yet and/or haven't seen yet, they actually made and uploaded a full version of Up Where We Belong by Firecracker and The Deep onto CZcams, it's great 😂😂
She was standing at the door longer than we saw, so she had time to see Hughie with the V and he left it in his outer jacket placed on the chair. She is only a cosmetics seller for Vought like Mary Kay agents in real life so wouldn't have access to the level of the Seven. Everyone knows compound V since the scandal so she knows roughly what it can do.
Btw, as a woman terrified of having my reproductive rights taken away, the sensitivity you showed toward Annie's abortion meant a lot to me. I don’t know if you guys are familiar with this easter egg from the beginning of the show which is that Hughie in the comics is actually modeled after Simon Pegg. And Pegg-Hughie from the comics took compound V. So, it’s really an interesting twist that Hughie’s dad in the show is the one who took the V instead of Hughie himself.
the show has super-heros for attraction. but talks about tough subjects. Abortion, DNR, process a bad childhood, the mental state of being a murder, find out the murder that kill your family it's your boyfriend... love it. 4x05 is even better
people say that colin and frenchie’s storyline was pointless bc their relationship went nowhere, but it wasn’t about their relationship. it was about frenchie trying to pretend his past doesn’t exist. he has always felt immense guilt for what he has done but never handled it in the right way, colin was a pipe dream and an escape, much like drugs are to him

Homelander went back home to kill off what remained of his humanity. He's smiling as he leaves as I'm sure he thinks he's succeeded. I'm not so sure. Of course, not before he provides us with another season and a half of chaos and destruction.
I Brought a Fudgie The whale 😂, as soon I heard that I fell out Laughing because it sounds so innocent, but you know it’s about to go down. 😆. Good reaction Fellas. I can’t stand Ashley.
Not much sympathy for the two doctors and Barbara, but Homelander even said that there were new faces. I don't think they knew about the experiments on him, but he killed them anyway. In the seen with Howie and his mom, he took his coat off and set it on the chair, that may be how she got it or she had her own. Look at who she works for.
Homelander's killing of the researchers may have been par for the course in The Boys, in terms of gore and graphic content. But the context here is so brilliantly done, We've seen people burned alive, weird sexual stuff, people being crushed, lasered etc. All in past seasons. But in this scene I've never felt more unsettled from anything in the boys so far. Its more than just a gory dramatic tension scene. The pure torture, physical and psychological, mirrors Homelanders upbringing, as he goes on this personal revenge quest. These people weren't good, but Homelander is beyond evil. He is completely unhinged, and I can't wait to see what happens when he finally snaps
I'm not *super* squeamish, but I literally had to block the screen during the Sage/Deep scene. 👀 Even during the rewatch here when most of it is pixelated, 😝
I am convinced they’re doing Venom with Butcher. In the Diabolical series, only certain episodes were canon and one of them was the one with cancer-V. I’m betting that they are giving the cancer in Butcher super powers from V and now his Venom is Becca. That’s what saved his life agains lt Ezekiel and that’s what keeps moving under his skin.
I had a feeling it would be something like this, just not as specific. I'm eager to find out what it is exactly, there's something about it in the next episode.
The Oak needs to watch more TV haha. I thought of lobotomy straight away due to Sage acting so dumbed down when she's the smartest person in the world and I've seen the "ice pick" lobotomy on TV a lot, Criminal Minds and Ratched immediately spring to mind.
My roommate & I actually looked at each other in episode 3 and we were like “is that…for a lobotomy?” And then when episode 4 came rolling around we were both still shocked we got it right. I couldn’t watch the scene at all, I had to cover my eyes it’s the only time I’ve had to do that (thus far…)
I don’t have Amazon Prime so I’m only familiar with the show and it’s characters thru reaction videos like this and short clips of the show. Question: does Vought International have a back up plan for Homelander? You would think they would have a being with similar powers and strength as Homelander that was raised in a LOVING home environment like Superman; someone that could take on a psycho like Homelander?
No, in the comics (which the show has directly stated it will not be going off) they do have a clone of him but his clone is actually an even more psycho version of homelander, vought in the comics and even in the show isn't really trying to take over the world, it's simply a company trying to make money (which makes them even more insidious) until homelander takes over
I think temp v created a monster in butcher and the actual compound v is what is giving butcher powers, now the monster is feeding off the compound v in butcher.
I saw a theory and hope its not a spoiler but since butcher is hallucinating Becca, probably because of Temp V, then Hughie could be hallucinating his mom and it was him who gave the V to his dad… could be interesting if true
Hey fellas ever ponder to think how much strength it would take a man ie Butcher to literally pull to shreds a being made of elastic!!! Like try just even ripping an elastic dog chew toy. Theres definitely something going on in that scene, but are we entirely sure Butcher is actually the cause?? Plus he was covered in some slimy goo too. Like what the heck was that from? Love this show & love yall reacting to it. Ur facial reactions make me laugh so much & is greater appreciated!❤💞❤️
Sadly, that is exactly how such ‘brain surgery’ was performed, largely separating the frontal lobe from the rest of the brain. Worse yet: the ‘spike’ or ‘drill’ method was actually an improved version where they wouldn’t have to open the brain anymore. It was done until the early 1950’s, when it was discredited and slowly went away. Yes, it’s nuts; quite literally…
Y'all are not paying close attention Homelander and Sage are not working for Vought. They are working to take over, they dont want to answer to humans.
Every hero story has a time when their on the back foot in a moment of despair. The Boys are there right now, things aren't going well for them now, and their enemy is making gains. We will see how they get out of this quagmire and get back on top.
That is precisely how they used to do lobotomies. They don't really do lobotomies anymore so it is hard to say how they would do them now if they had to.

In the seen with Howie and his mom, he took his coat off and set it on the chair, that may be how she got it or she had her own. Look at who she works for.
They're still there to experiment on supes though
Well she did say that day he dropped it
I totally neglected to realize that Homelander locked that lady in the bad room.
1. The perks of being a wallflower
2. The lovely bones
3. The help
Just some sugetions, adore your reactions 🇧🇷
The lovely Bones is a great movie
I don't know how anyone else feels, but this is easily one of the best episodes in the series for me.
You guys are in for a wild ride in the next episode.
Fun fact: that is how orbital lobotomies were actually performed
The deep is so funny man 😂 got to be my favourite character
Antony Starr is BRILLIANT! Check him out in Banshee. One of my favorite shows of all time.
The scenes with Neegan are all in Butcher’s mind. They planted that in the first episode when they asked Butcher who was he talking to.
I'm sorry for commenting again but the oak just got it at 51mins. Hueys mom saw the Vail and injected it, she saw it on the news
I'm not *super* squeamish, but I literally had to block the screen during the Sage/Deep scene. 👀 Even during the rewatch here when most of it is pixelated, 😝
I just closed my eyes. Thankfully they didn't spring it on me.
This episode was so unsettling! The oven scene was so hard to watch
20:12 Starlight beats her face bloody
20:19 Starlight's fist is clean
😅
Another great reaction from one of the best reaction channel on YT
That was their plan with homelander's son, Ryan. Hid him from homelander and had him raised by his mother. That has not gone... great
@@garretthenderson5738 Thanks! 👍🏼
No, in the comics (which the show has directly stated it will not be going off) they do have a clone of him but his clone is actually an even more psycho version of homelander, vought in the comics and even in the show isn't really trying to take over the world, it's simply a company trying to make money (which makes them even more insidious) until homelander takes over
@@39Hundredif worse came to worse, the Russians also *had* Soldier Boy, who, let's not forget, is not dead, but in the custody of Grace
Shit goes bad, real bad in episode 5. But i didn't think they can top episode 4 which was a masterpiece. Well they tied it.
The ep5 will be so much wtf on another lvl
I’m hoping we get a bit more on that specific Starlight story. It seemed kinda light for such a deep issue.
I'm wondering if the parasite or whatever is inside Butcher got the compound V instead of him.
Best episode of season 4 so far
Every hero story has a time when their on the back foot in a moment of despair. The Boys are there right now, things aren't going well for them now, and their enemy is making gains.
We will see how they get out of this quagmire and get back on top.
YES ! YOURE REACTIONS ARE MOST WANTED 🤩😎
Welp. Looks like we're gonna watch Man on Fire.
Wait so Dave can say fuck but not the show? 😂😂
Missed it.
You think the cancer got the compound V?
Ohh that makes a lot of sense. The rabbit in the next episode had a temp V drip and then it had a monster burst out of it.
New character unlocked......

I guessed she was doing self lobotomy just because I was listening tto Joe Rogan talk about how messed they were, the day I watched this episode 😅
You guys need to react on episode five right now
That is precisely how they used to do lobotomies. They don't really do lobotomies anymore so it is hard to say how they would do them now if they had to.
What's Simon Pegg's power going to be? 🤩
Aren't they sort of hereditary? Like along the same bloodlines? Maybe that's only natural born ...
😭😭😭😭😭
Keep watching
I saw a theory that asked the question, “What if Hughie’s mom is a hallucination” and that makes that whole storyline make more sense to me.
Did you not watch episode 5?? His dad saw and spoke to her 😂
Nah the only hallucination is Jeffery Dean Morgan
@@アキコ2003😂
@@pitchking5496and Becca
@@msteward2070 of course. I just didn’t mention her cause that was evident in episode one
odd how the phone line was dead when the lab personnel were calling for help yet they are able to phone Barbara.
homerlander soo crazy jesus
Loving how much this episode made yall cringe 😂😂 one of my favorites of the season so far ❤ love y’all’s reactions
