Cringe subreddits are so annoying, they inevitably devolve into posting tweets of people you disagree with and trying to insist they’re cringe or just posting furry porn
Honestly the furry stuff is hilarious because depending on the post, the guy who posted it might in the comments like “uhhhh yeah I just found the furries in diapers randomly I would never Google it never ever I’m not cringe”
Everybody's a gangsta until a child (13 years old) decides to tell you to die in the most gruesome way possible for making something embarassing and ending the sentence with "LMFAO".
I think bronies stopped being punching bags when bronies generally stopped even reacting to the haters. Also the fan base shrunk down and people moved on to other stuff
I feel like Bronies and Furries kind of merged into one entity at a certain point. Like as if MLP was a gateway drug to being a Furry. Same thing happens with most fandoms that revolve around anthro characters/properties.
Bronies still exist, it’s just they’re not as prominent/trending as they used to be back in the early 2010s. After all, like all trends, mainstream attention moved on to newer trends that replaced the older ones, thus taking the backlash/hate with them. Also, I think nowadays both Furries and Bronies already expect themselves to be the low-hanging bunching bags for people online, which may help explain the symbiosis between the two communities.
That last bit about “cringe compilations still existing, just not being called cringe” is something that I’ve been believing this time whole time. When people say “cringe culture is dead” they’re just wrong. Its really just redefined. If I see a self-insert x sans drawing made by a 10 y/o, then I wouldn’t give af as much as someone in 2016 did. But I recently saw a video of some guy with huge decals on the back of his car of loli pantyshots, and I can’t think of a word better than cringe to describe that whole experience.
"Are bronies still around?" I mean, bronies became their own small niche once the show's popularity dwindled. They became as "normalized" as furries, but I suppose they're considered a "subculture" of furries, as much as bronies refuse to accept that.

I never found cringe funny honestly. Unless if it's children, I only ever felt second hand embarrassment. Mostly due to the fact that my own embarrassments weren't recorded and willingly shared throughout social media. It's alright to be cringe, it just doesn't feel right to put it online in my opinion.
they aren't really laughing at it, they're trying to feel validated after burying their passions to be "normal". seeing people that are confident enough to be themselves makes them jealous.
The video being reacted to has so little self-awareness about being the stereotypical cringe redditor whinging because they're told they can't be assholes that it's swung back to being funny. As Pyro said: cringe is still around. It's gotten larger than ever. It's just softer. More specifically, it's nowhere near as hateful or meanspirited, so for those who looked at cringe solely to feel better about themselves, drag people down or, most importantly, have a free ticket to hate on people who weren't like them, it's now worse for it. They're just left to seethe now that they can't use it as an excuse to be an asshole.
The video seems to have been made by the kind of person who complains about how dark humor isn't allowed anymore when in reality they're just mad they can't say the N word without consequences.
@@n48_art Yes, but I was just pointing it out as an example of a piece of media that literally has white people throwing around the N word like it's nothing... for a reason. In short, context matters, but I agree this dude is lame AF. I mean he's on reddit so it's to be expected but still.
@@toxiccorgi2108 100%. I’m “old” (early 30’s), I’ve always loved dark/edgy humour, as in actual jokes and not “I wanna scream the N word 20 times in a row and call that comedy”, and it’s just a really unimaginative way of trying to be a dick
I can tell ya what happened to the Bronies. The show ended, there wasn’t any new material to make off of. Then when TNG came out, it didn’t strike the same chord people loved FiM for. They liked it but didn’t love it, so now they sit quietly on their forums and cons and keep to themselves enjoying what once was.
Bro there wasnt even a furry mod, the old mods were seeing how reddit was tryna get rid of em so one of them posed as a furry to start a furry war to get some cringe out of it
one thing I don't really understand is when people say you could bully kids in 2016 and nothing would happen, but even modern day commentary channels still do that, and no one really cares, so Idk
I was on cringetopia for years up until around the time the pandemic started. The posts were funny, and it felt like the majority of the user base was just there to laugh as well but not witch hunt anyone. Although, I ended up leaving because it became a very politically extreme subreddit. It became a place where members of the LGBT community and other "libruls" could be mocked and hated with very little retribution, it wasn't harmless fun anymore. It was quarantined shortly after I left and then they started promoting their website, then it went private, then eventually got banned. I don't really remember leaving because it became a furry subreddit, it was more the malicious hatred than anything else. Maybe that was after I left? I don't know, but I miss the good days of that sub.
I'm a furry and I can say we have not been normalized at all ☠️ I go to school everyday and get harassed nonstop for being a furry.. People bark at me meow at me and growl at- also have told me to kms, and I feel it's possibly because they're so uninformed of what furries actually are- I wish I could say it's getting better and I'm okay but I'd unfortunately be lying.. If anything I'm hanging in there
Weebs are definitely normalized. Before the 2010s, watching anime was like saying you're a 30yr old fat, sweaty virgin, and now everyone and their dog watches anime. I remember when Weeaboo was derogatory. Furries, not so much. Its getting there tho, but considering Pyro is on the forefront, there'll be so many people who won't want to make it normalized just to make fun of him.
ive been on the hunt for bronies in tf2, they're almost nearing extinction but once every 30-50 or so games i can see one. One of them was on dustbowl accusing our sweaty sniper of cheating, the other was on thundermountain and a spy main
finding out that Pyro also used to be a Nostalgia Critic diehard fanboy made me remember parts of my youth. Parts I wanted buried, but at least I cringe less knowing even he suffered a Doug Walker period.
I remember trying to defend furries on cringetopia would get your message deleted. Kund led me too the conclusion that "furries" that took over weren't actually furries.
Nostalgia Critic actually did evolve his content, several times over the past decade. Doug Walker even started a new series with a more relaxed format called Untitled Review Show in the past year, and it’s doing fairly well.
I disagreed with a lot of the stuff posted on there. I was mostly on it to laugh at people making fools of themselves, not harass kids enjoying media I didn't.
Pyro should do a stream about CorvusCalvaria. He's a notorious troll and "dramafur" who was hired to mod the cringetopia subreddit. He was also involved in creating and spreading a false scandal where a teacher gave out furry-themed crosswords to her students
Is he like an actual furry or just a troll? I've heard some stories of furries going out of their way to do everything in their power to hurt other furry communities even if it leaves a horrible image of the 'fandom' as a whole
I think in general the internet has realised that there is a much bigger goldmine of content if the punchline of the cringe is someone doing something embarrassing, rather than the punchline being the person themselves. Not only is it simply more content, but it is also far less offending compared to sitting on a throne and belittling others for existing. The drawback of the content being shallow is honestly a good thing as well, so that there aren't as many people who would go down a rabbit hope just for making fun of people. This makes the feedback loop of constant cringe from specific people much rarer, and hopefully it means avoiding someone's life bring negatively and drastically changed by being put on a spotlight in a circus.
I got into furry stuff when I was 15, I can confirm at least 60% of the "furries" are actually exclusively bronies that just assimilated into the wider community
I was gonna say, I went into this expecting it to be about r/incel or some place where genuinely horrible/insufferable people congregated. As far as I'm concerned this was just as terrible as any other shitty subreddit. Shows that whoever made this vid really doesn't know how terrible the internet can be even on the clear-net.
I think any sane and rational person would agree that fetishising about rapists and murderers is worse than some kid recording themselves dancing to their favourite song.
im glad its gone, they were so many posts that were tame as, and everyone was just like "wOw SoOo CriNgE" like stuff that was obvously satire but people couldnt even realise that
Bronies are still around, we just aren't expanding our culture as religiously as we used to. You could go fucking anywhere on the internet and you'd find bronies trying to get you to watch the show. It was the funniest thing ever, as a brony, seeing your culture just invading every space, and since we have all been bullied into oblivion, getting yelled at by every forum didn't bother us, it was the fucking best. A lot of people don't understand how tightly knit the brony community was; if you were someone worth knowing, everyone knew you. It was kinda magical, and I'm sad that nothing will ever be just like that ever again. Oh, and one of the best things was showing people brony music, which, for some reason, my little pony attracted very very talented musicians, so you'd show someone a song, and they'd be like "wow that sounds awesome" and you'd be like "haha a brony made that haha". It was cringe to do that, but it was fun for us. AMA
I still don't understand bronies and never have. Why MLP? the animation and everything is like average too? I like some kids stuff like children's books I guess, but it's obviously in a different category.
@@kx7500 it's because it's not low effort, emotionless and no-story sensory content that most kid shows are. It has a pretty well thought out fantasy universe, and it's characters have real personality that can resonate with someone who hasn't developed socially like others have(kids and most fans). As well as the delightful color pallette and very goofy cartoony sound design, which is why a lot of people with autism like it, it stimulates the senses. The stories are told well and none of the writing is lazy. Yeah it's predictable and easy to watch, as in not a lot of thought goes into understanding the story, so little kids can understand what's happening, but it isn't overly explainy. It's definitely not for everyone, and it's more for people who do have underdeveloped social skills, like children, and that's why it's community is so "cringe", because most of us have less than typical social skills.
I always liked how some posts could be seen on both Cringetopia AND Chadtopia because of recent days some things you'd see as the norm are suprisingly bashed by people who would say thier mother's funeral is too cring, it bassicly became a joke sub with the recent posts and reactions, sure sometimes there were things you really bit your teeth over in embarassment but soo many posts you just went "Good for them!"

@@toxiccorgi2108 I mean I get ya, but Blazing Saddles is still hilarious.
@@warbossgegguz679 True but it was nuanced, well written and witty which a lot of these edgy commentary channels are not.

@@toxiccorgi2108 100%. I’m “old” (early 30’s), I’ve always loved dark/edgy humour, as in actual jokes and not “I wanna scream the N word 20 times in a row and call that comedy”, and it’s just a really unimaginative way of trying to be a dick
3:10 "I couldn't turn on a camera and dance like that" instead you do much worse

Everybody mourn for the countless CZcamsrs who can't milk cringetopia for content anymore
That bit with csgo surf map brought so many memories, 2016-17 were golden years for youtube commentary.

Pyro whats the music at the end of your videos I haven't been able to find it
Nostalgia Critic actually did evolve his content, several times over the past decade.
Pyro would know the exact reference to some kid beating up an empty metal barrel in Basingstoke but not Nileseyy Nile's disappearing meme.
This makes the feedback loop of constant cringe from specific people much rarer, and hopefully it means avoiding someone's life bring negatively and drastically changed by being put on a spotlight in a circus.
nooooo what am I gonna do without r/Pyrocynical? 😭
I got into furry stuff when I was 15, I can confirm at least 60% of the "furries" are actually exclusively bronies that just assimilated into the wider community

So sad to hear your subreddit was deleted
I don't even like MLP, but I gotta admire this dedication to fuck with stiffs.
@Tenebrae the bible is unironically a snoozefest. Fuck that.
