      @@DaBinChe oh yeah!! I have about 2k on mine and had just adjusted the clutch like I did on my c70 and ct90 when I was a kid. After I adjusted it I searched it to see if the 1/8 was still the same. Found your video. Gonna subscribe as well. Thanks again man. Every 2k of my miles have been a blast by the way!

    What is the regular adjustment intervals mileage wise on this according to the shop manual? Just curious. Thanks

    Did yours ever stick trying to shift into 2nd gear? And if so did this adjustment help?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  Před 2 lety +2

      nope, but you should check the adjustment

      @@haydencrider8345 i did, it worked for about 15 miles, adjusted it again and still the same. havent rode it for a few months. But when making the adjustment, breaking loose that locking bolt, if you go too far, you can make a bigger adjustment than whats in the video and im not sure if thats good or bad, so id say just be mindful of how far you loosen it up

      I have check and yes it does have to do with the nut. Loosen the nut and keep it away from the cover. When moving the part of the screw driver you must feel a click before reaching the end. That is where the adjustment is.

    Do this be done when the engine is hot or cold? Or does it matter?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  Před 2 lety

      I usually do it when cold or warm.

    I bought a service manual. It doesn't tell you much about adjustments. Maybe I don't have the proper one. Is the bike supposed to be in neutral or in gear for this adjustment. I loosen mine earlier today and turned it clockwise about a full turn and never felt any resistance. Got worried and put it back where it was. My bike has almost a 1000 miles on it now. I have not adjusted anything so far. Everything has been fine with it. EE

      Should be in service manual maintenance section

    • @luvbgrass
      @luvbgrass Před 2 lety

      @@DaBinChe You would think it would be. That's why I bought the manual. Tells you the bolt size and torque. Useless as far as how to adjust anything. I wouldn't recommend this manual.

      @@luvbgrass You're right it is not in there. Thank environmentalist for that. A few years ago to reduce environmental impact Honda shortened/condensed the service manual down about half of what it used to be. This change was done by force from regulations which from pressure from environmentalist. A domino effect.

    • @luvbgrass
      @luvbgrass Před 2 lety +1

      I guess the environmental impact was the extra pages they need for the service manual. Some tree hugger saved a tree, lol. I hope he gets a trail bike and buys a manual. 😂. Anyone reading this, the service manual is not very good for the price they are. Thanks for the reply. EE

      @@luvbgrass I was looking thru all my Honda sevice manuals and can see a huge change from a few years ago in thickness. For example my 2019 Monkey125 compared to the 2021 Trail125, basically the same stuff more or less. Monkeys service manual is easily twice as thick as the Trail service manual.

    I've been debating on getting a new shift lever and cutting off the heel portion to make it solely an up/down like a typical moto.
    Opinions?
    Was this clutch adjustment info printed or provided anywhere from Honda?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  Před 3 lety +1

      The info is from he SuperCub service manual. Best to get another shifter instead of cutting up the original, it's expensive.

    • @NitwitMN
      @NitwitMN Před 3 lety +1

      I am thinking the very same thing about making the shift lever a tow only operation. I can't effectively bend my ankle to operate the heel part of the shifter. I looked at the shift lever on the monkey and I think it would make a fine substitute for the heel toe setup as originally configured.

      @@DaBinChe whats expensive? why not cut off the original one?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  Před 3 lety +2

      @@jayroth6110 just double check the OE shifter is $27, so not so expensive. It is the SuperCub one that is expensive $138

      I was thinking regular toe shift would be easier as well. Would be a great video to see that in action.
