So Vader really just needed a good therapist.
He needed one as soon as he got off Tatooine.

Vader's greatest pain comes from being sold to Disney... a pure death sentence.
Yoda: Price, everybody has. 😅😢😂😎
The greatest pain could never be found though Disney has been known to have extreme interest in the very thing A. Skywalker has not been able to use , so the greatest pain that was poorly reconstructed was no power between ....poor Darth 🖤
Wrong, it was letting Lucas ruin the franchise.
Vader ain’t in none of the new movies bruh
Lol mickey is the emperor
One thing I noticed is Darth Vader never laughs. Ever. He’s not an arrogant villain. He’s just a sad and angry villain.
A thoroughly broken man.

@@jestersraven408no they didn’t that’s just what the emperor told him to make him angrier and move further to the dark side

So true… You should have gotten all the likes ❤
True, true, and more true 👍 ❤❤❤
Well said...
We grow strong by overcoming adversity; stronger than we ever thought possible. More often than not, said adversity comes from the limits we put on ourselves.
No he wouldn't the loss of limbs that carry metacholioreans are gone
He got his mind back and was his self again in the end. He always was the chosen one and fulfilled his destiny.
I believe this to be true 100% and the way George wanted it to be.
He was the chosen one.
Emperor: Quit your moping It's all in your head. Walk it off.
Let's put it like this. Anakin was an expert mechanic. He could have easily fine tuned and even upgraded suit. Hell, Palpatine even offered to do it for him. But he refused. He needs the hate, the pain. From the jedi, to Palpatine, or even himself. Because as we seen many times, without the hatred, the sadness would drown him like a dark sea
Researchers think humans have secondary emotions to cover more painful emotions
When we feel intense hatred and anger, it is often a cover for hurt
So you’re probably right
Makes sense and it is plausible to an extent, although I do not agree with the outcome of your “theoretical analogy”…
very amateur
That's a badass line you dropped there.
@@bobdole7292 that’s damn near common sense bruh
Emperor: Builds suit to purposely restrain Vader.
Also Emperor: Believes Vader is held back psychologically, not physically.
Oh no, Sidious knew. He just didn't want Vader to catch on and so he used his unlimited power of sith gaslighting.
Sidious didn’t make the armor to suppress Vader. He made it to especially vulnerable to force lightning so he could control him.
The emperor also made the armor painful to drive him further into the power of the dark side. Kind of weird. The suit made him stronger through unbridled rage driving him further into the dark, but it's weak AF to lighting (always need a backup plan)
@@thedelordhimselfgokublack e.g so the Sidous could kill him if he got to powerful.
It was once said that Darth Vader was the only Sith to channel his power from the ultimate type of hate: his self-hatred. Especially after what happened to Padme. That's says a lot about the character et his immense fear of abandonment.
The last time we hear Anakin was when he asked where padme was
Literally none of this would have happened if Qui Gon trained Anakin
I mean, it's kind of implied in Canon that the reason Qui Gon died and Anakin turned to the Dark Side was sort of "fate" or the "will" of the force, so to speak
@@scoobydoo2587 Well that’s the reason behind everything that happens in Star Wars basically. Star Wars universe has always been run by the will of the force.
But I still can’t believe qui gon died with one light saber stab from Maul and Reva survived a saber stab from vader. Now that’s not the will of the force , that’s bad writing. Imo obi wan kenobi series would have been a super good series for me if reva died.
@@Gaurav_kattagyan The show has a shit ton of inconsistencies. But yeah, the plot armor of some of the characters is absolutely ridiculous, even by star wars standards where all the characters have ridiculous plot armor
@@scoobydoo2587 well it felt like a good story with lazy writing. Like the overall idea was good , obi wan still recovering from the fall of anakin skywalker when he is tasked to save anakin’s daughter and finds out anakin is alive and now has to go through a ton of PTSD and has trouble even holding a lightsaber but eventually gains control over his emotions if I say so and defeats vader proving he is still the disciplined Jedi from the clone wars and the prequels. And also the facts that he dosent make jokes now showing how his character has developed.
The story had great potential, also the weird part of a youngling surging somehow which is not explained enough at all. But overall a good story. Just bad execution. Reva dieing and a like a thousand minor changes in the story and direction could’ve made the show one of the best spin offs.
But then again he is the anchor to stopping Darth Sidious
Also keep in mind that Anakin was a very proficient user of Form V which specializes in speed and agility to fight your opponents. Vader had to learn how to fight again using a highly modified version of Form V, heavily influenced by other forms due to his limited body.
Correction form V specializes in heavy strikes but anakin mixed it with the footwork from another form to make it faster
I think you might be thinking of Ataru form
@@DarthFedora small errata to that, youre both kind of right and wrong. He uses form V, but form V at its base relies on heavy strings and overwhelming your opponent with physical power. Anakin studied forms 4 and 6 as well as dual wielding and reverse wielding to find what worked best for him, he actually never used any of those forms except for one time in AOTC, he ended up however, using the experience from his training to blend the two variants of form V to create a unique dueling style. He combined regular form V (shien) with its variant djem so, to create the style that made him famous for being the best duelist alive.
@@rurounijay7100 this is correct, although it is arguable if Anakin really was the greatest duelist
@@daikoncash its only confirmed that he was the best duelist of his time. Im sure during the high republic or pinnacle of the sith there were better duelists
Not only was his suit built to limit his movements, but also hurt him every single time he breathed or moved around.
Bet it's more painful than getting springlocked.
And the suit was also meant to hurt him physically, it was an instrument of torture. The pain was there to make fuel his dark side
So Palpatine basically gaslighted Vader that it was all in his mind, unbelievable
No wonder it took 24 years to break free.
@@madelinegarber7860 yup, it is a reflection of how narcissistic manipulation is in the real world too
Bro that’s actually something I’d never once even considered. That Vader all along was strong enough to kill the emperor, even tho it may have cost him his life as well. But the psychological limitations being more powerful than his physical loss is such an incredible theory, because is actually makes sense realistic and in the context of the Star Wars lore
@@JokerSlaysthegameif size doesn't matter, why should a limb?
@@JokerSlaysthegameit occured to me that if Vader could kill him with his hare hands without being moved at all, he definitely could've found the power to do it before then.
He killed every Jedi child in training prior to his battle in Mustafar. I think his mind was already all on the dark side
💯
Different times.
Exactly!!!
He did everything palpie said in order to save Padme, he was just tricked
It’s crazy, because when you say this I hate rape and killing, but it goes to show, antiheroic frustration, and reasoning of logic, twisted our own souls to be demented… 😢🔏🖤
It’s just crazy, while anakin was a Jedi, he was constantly questioning their authority, being rebellious, being untrustworthy, and paranoid..but when Sidious makes him his official apprentice, he swears allegiance, and doesn’t question a man who’s lied, cheated and conquered his way in..and anakin believes everything that monster says like it law!! I thought that was kind of ridiculous…blindly trust the dark side, but always fighting with the light side of the force, though he’s studied it since he was a boy? And, why the HELL does he think Padmè would just go along with all that?? And wth with how padme dies?!! She has nothing wrong with her, but she’s losing her “will” to live? Hunny that’s called depression, not death! 😂
There’s a beautiful line as Darth Vader is just becoming used to his new suit where he comments that he can feel where all that power was but he can’t touch it.
Where did you read that line?
His penis?
I would like to know where did you read that?
Where can I find this?
You're gonna have to tell them where it is...too lazy to spend 10 minutes looking for it themselves, only to wait 2 weeks for your reply...😂😂😂
Its weird how Sidious wanted Vader to suprass him and believed Vader's PTSD was holding him back but still sabatoged his armor. Instead of making it better than ever. The emperor just decides to mess with him even when there was still a chance for Vader to obtain his full power
It's because there's a bad habit among sith for the apprentice to kill their masters he was trying to protect himself and knew how weak he made hi he was still a valuable asset
Its EU, you can pick and choose which part you think is relevant, i think this one is pure nonsense.
@@edburns584 not a bad habit, its the intended progression of the sith, one master and one apprentice, one to hold the power the other to crave it, when the apprentice becomes stonger than the master he can no longer hold the mantle of sith lord and it must fall to the apprentice, and the only way to know who is stronger is a fight to the death, each master makes their apprentice aware of this, it is the way of the sith, ever since darth bane destroyed the brotherhood on ruusan

love how palpatine is always basicaly telling Vader "Get over it"
He was yet another tool for Palpatine, just like Maul and Dooku, but unlike them, he refused to die and be replaced.
Why…. Tell me why there STILL isn’t a game completely dedicated to this man
Considering he still loved Padme enough to visit her tomb Vader wasn’t that far off from being Anakin
Because love is stronger than hate.
@dcmastermindfirst9418 That's not always the case, though. Once you get the green light to make interference it's bye bye to the one you loved before.
It also is said that his armor was outdated by 30 years and could have been less painful.
i have thought about it so many years on how he had been injured and became this dark shadow, when i was a little child. Only when the years had passed i have managed to learn the reason why when i was a grown up and it was still devastating for me. it is really a universal and timeless story 👑🌟🎬
Kenobi letting himself get hit must've been the ultimate psychological devastation after stewing over mustafar all those years
Such a twisted and dark story for Anakin. Vader is the GOAT to be truly strong enough to endure torture while still being the most savage ever.
I think because of the fact that he was so severely injured from the lava on Mustafar I feel like he constantly used the force in order for him to feel some sense of relief when he isn't in his bacta tank and in that process it limited his ability to grow in strength with the force.
In the Legends book “Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader” they really explain his injuries, and it’s revealed that he had to use the Force just to walk!
@@RetneysHolocron legends was never canon though.
@@khfan9437 pick sequel or legends?

The medical industry in a nutshell
They knew if they gave Vader a better suit he would of been unstoppable even overpowering the emperor himself
Yeah he even tells Yoda in ROTS that Vader will he more powerful than the both of them.
... which is why the emperor gave him a limited suit on purpose.
I think this is the part of Vader's life that has not been covered at all and that would deserve a solo movie about him slowly realizing the Emperor betrayed him
It's already told in books and a movie, especially by Disney could never achieve the level of character develpment a book can.
I knew the suit was built to make him suffer and keep him angry but I didn't know it limited his power. he was already quite the badass
The suit was built to be claustrophobic and physically painful to wear, keeping Anakin in constant pain made him strong with the dark side.
Makes sense because when you think about it, Maul became MORE powerful after losing to Obi-Wan, which means losing limbs doesn't necessarily hinder force potential. So Vader COULD still have been as powerful as he was back in episode 3, but he just didn't have the same mindset as Maul. While Maul was full of anger and hatred, Vader was full of Anger and self-doubt
Just because this guy says that, it doesn't mean he is right! 😡
"Self doubt"? Vader? what about being filled with guilt and remorse?
Those are always very driving emotions, and Vader is one of the most _Driven_ characters in all of literature!
Fear, Self doubt, these feelings cause inactivity, not activity.
@The Noisy Spectator They would've been hindrances for Vader though. He became pretty insecure in the years following Mustafar as he lost to Obi-Wan SO bad, and even later on, he still believed that he was physically weaker and not as strong in the force. He wasn't arrogant like Maul, who never doubted himself and after Savage rescued him, believed himself to be even stronger with his new commitment to the darkside
@@nikolaift4906Self pity naybe but not self doubt in his abilities.
Obi Wan was his master as Anakin and Obi Wan had already beaten him on Mustafar, yet he was confident enough to confront him again, at least 3 times. On each of those 3 occasions he has no doubt that he will beat Obi Wan.
1 He bests Obi Wan (In "Kenobi" when he burns him)
2 He destroys and buries Obi Wan. Then he drops his guard which Obi Wan takes advantage of. People with self doubt don't drop their guard.
Even when beaten, he still shouts threats at Obi Wan.
3 The death star - He seeks Obi Wan out and tells the stormtroopers not to fire upon him and then fights him again.
Rebels - He takes on Ahsoka, Ezra and Kanan without a second thought. 1 Jedi, 1 ex-Jedi and 1 trainee jedi.
No self doubt.
Fun fact: Palpatine was actually TERRIFIED of Vader in that armor.
The armor caused him constant pain, and he used that pain to fuel his anger to drive him harder with the Dark Side of the force. As a precaution Palpatine tried to put him into new armor that wouldn't cause him pain, but Vader refused. He used the force to do literally everything because of that armor, and it's like a muscle. The more you train it. The stronger you get, so when you use it all the time...
So yeah. He's actually stronger in that armor, than he is without. But yes, he had WAY more potential. And his mind absolutely limited it.
So he had more potential but because he lost to obi wan and had self doubt he wasn’t able to achieve the potential ?
He is not stronger in the armor. He's lost like 4/5 of his midichlorians due to losing all of his limbs. He could never be as strong as he was meant to be.
@@theStr4yD0g He is stronger in the armor, he just has less potential.
There IS a difference.
Anakin was less concerned with actual training, he was a showboat. He knew he was "the chosen one", and had all the arrogance to go along with it. He never reached even a fraction of his TRUE potential.
Vader however went all in on mastering his power, he actually learned from his mistakes. (He was still arrogant as fuck, but it was at least deserved at this point. xD) He probably hit the limits of his potential in that armor.
@@myst1741 anakin absolutely reached, at least, a fraction of his potential. He was widely regarded as one of the top Jedi in the order.
@@jaronimo6314nah the crazy thing is that he's considered one of the strongest Jedi and THAT isn't even a quarter of his potential. Other guy isn't saying Anakin isn't strong, but rather that his potential is so incredibly busted that even pre-suit Anakin and post-suit Vader, as powerful as they were, were about as close to full potential Anakin as the north pole is to the south.
The scene where he gets chopped up and burnt was brutal for a kids film
Episode III was rated PG-13. Not a kids film by any measure.
@@richardsinclair7661 I watched it on dvd with my dad when I was like 6-7?
@@Teamneoplasmaghetsis Just because you watched it when you were 6-7 doesn't mean it was meant for kids. I watched Saw when I was 8. Does that mean it was meant for kids? Of course not.
@@richardsinclair7661did you really think kids were going to wait until they were 13 to watch the greatest movie series of all time? I bet the producers knew that
The fact that he's one of the most powerful force users while being heavily nerfed speaks for itself
Nice interpretation. The EU books (I can’t remember which) suggest that the purposeful pain of the suit and his new way of life is to feed his anger and thus make him more powerful. Ultimately the sith rule is for the apprentice to overthrow the master so keeping him weak to piss him off would also make sense. Loads to unpack in different directions. That’s why I love Star Wars 😊
I wouldn’t say Anakin changed completely. He still has his quick wit, except now his lines are cold and evil, but still cool and smart sounding.
None of this would have happened if the Jedi Order didn't emotionally abuse a young boy and treat him like a ticking bomb all his life.
Wow.!! Absolutely awesome and sooo much Depth of Anakin’s psychological analysis
Vader did recover from his psychological trauma and regain his “lost self”. It just happened about 5 min before his death.
Yeah thats how it go's unfortunately.
Imagine if they had actually explored this interesting story line in the films. 30 seconds of Vader at the end of episode 3 was a complete waste and missed opportunity.
It deserves a whole spinoff movie
He was a beautiful soul who was corrupted...I would allow for him to borrow my strength to heal and let go of hate... sometimes I think that we think our hate and anger protect us...I used to think my anger was my protection...now I realize that if I channel my frustration into questions I ask my highest spiritual aspects for guidance...I will try to wrap my anger with kindness...
It’s sad. I felt for him when he died. He had good under all of the bad.
Palpatine saw everyone as pawns...
well bro, once you rule the Galaxy’s and shit… you have to
Which is exactly what happened to him in ROTJ. He realized his strength and regained his power to toss Palpatine into the void and pass over into the force realm.
Yeah, may be true; But it isn't like Vader couldn't have just upgraded his armor/suite on, and of his own free will. He KNEW he COULD. But what the video does not mention is that the constant discomfort he lived on a daily basis served as a reminder of his failure to defeat Obi, and also served to keep him perpetually angry. It also served to make him hone in on the force in other ways other than saber fighting.
We Will always Love you Lord Vader
Emperor palpatine was like marijuana
He gave anakin his purpose but took away his ability to succeed
I remember when Anakin said Mace Windu before saving Palpatine from Mace's killer blow, "No, I need him!"...That says a lot about Anakins mental state towards Palpatine...
@@MetalRaydown I think that's why he wanted him to join the dark side.
'i have the high ground now'
*Enters the Emperor*
'thank you master Kenobi, I'll take it from here now'
He only realized he was stronger when his son Luke was in pain, he overcame that psychological barrier and defeated Palpatine.
There was a suit made for him to enhance his strength and his senses but to transfer to it he'd have to survive for a minute without life support. Edit after a day: Vader didn't want the suit.
Why didn’t he want
@@bobdole7292He saw a nice pin-stripe number in the sales and set his heart on that.
The Emperor DIDN'T want Darth Vader to kill him, like it was the Sith way for 1000 years.
The emperor let Vader customize his suit he just refused to do it because of the guilt and the mental pain he suffered
Yes, I remember Darth/Anakin very well. We went to different schools together.
He could have improved his suit himself since he is mechanically inclined but I believe that since he thinks he killed Padme he thinks he deserves the pain and weakness the robot parts gave him.
Imagine if Vader built himself cyborg limbs like Grievous had, he would be unstoppable...
All of this could've easily been avoided Obi-Wan tried reasoning with Anakin. Unfortunately Anakins naivety and arrogance was his own worse enemy. He let Palpatine manipulate him ..considering what he did to the Jedi especially killing those children he got a dose of Karma.
Which is why Darth Vader can become the ULTIMATE RULER of the multiverse
I really love the examination of Vader in the context of disability issues.
This lore is from the book "Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader" by James Luceno! Its a great book and it dives into Vader's psyche after Episode III
I thought the suit made him stronger in a sense because he was always in pain, always hate in his heart.
Damm!! Vader! I can really relate a lot to him I’ve felt like this as well!!
Emperor: Physically minimizes Vader's power.
Also Emperor: It's just in your head bruh
Honestly Vader’s story is one that is saddening, and although not literally relatable, is very relatable in a figurative sense, and sometimes happens in the real world.
Darth Vader’s story really is a sad one but for Luke giving him the opportunity to redeem himself at the end.
Anyone defeated in combat, missing limbs, ablaze, and presumably doomed to slide into a lava river yet still says “I hate you” instead of asking for help does not have self doubt. That’s about as much conviction a person can have. When facing life or death and somebody’s actions are antithetical to their survival, one needs not question motives or psychological/subconscious underpinnings. Given that he remained a dark lord of the force til an old man, it’s safe to say his convictions were steadfast. C’mon man.. this is surface rust level insight.
Not true actually. I've been angry and said things I don't mean. Everyone's different. "I hate you" comes from a place of pain... Especially for someone like Anakin. Just because you don't agree doesn't mean it's surface rust level insight. It may not be right but to deny that someone like Anakin who we know was constantly struggling with the dark side even before his transformation literally stems from trauma as a child. You want to tell me being taken advantage of, and losing a battle against your former friend and Master and almost losing your life doesn't have even an ounce of effect on him. Well that's the really rust level insight. My evidence for this theory if we want to go that route. Anakin was susceptible to pain and trauma, that's the whole reason he struggled with the dark side to begin with. I believe Anakin was truly good, and even as Vader he still is. But come on dude, dude went through A L O T. lol
Anakins whole life as a Jedi was self doubt. Nothing unbelievable about it
@@bryanthorburn8034 every Jedi experiences self doubt. Qui-Gon was outright insubordinate
Anakin was actually master of the long con. He played the part all the way to the end when he could fulfill his purpose.
He most likely had Palpatine's demise in the back of his mind from the moment he learned of Padme's death.
that’s why he became so angry and aggressive and who can blame him. Also he was constantly fuelled by the pain from his suit
Bro really said "its all mental" 💀
Our thoughts go out to darth Vader at this difficult time 😂
Sounds like the story of all of us who’ve failed . If we ever overcome these psychological limitations we will be so powerful and successful
This is thebpart that made me fear vader as a kid. The fact the suit didnt do anything extra for him besides breathing. .. which was also very difficult... vaders only TRUE enemy was himself.
Here at Mustafar Darth Vader's body was physically infused with Mustafar/flame of Mustafar just as his light saber was bled/infused making him (Darth Vader) and the light saber /crystal, one in creation with the physically infused Mustafar and 1 in the created darkside.
Vadar was weakened and couldn't even move much and obi wan still had a tough time
In the end he did overpower the emperor. Palpatine didn’t sense Vader’s change of heart when he saw Luke dying in front of him. I wish I’d been alive to see the reaction to that in theaters.
If you think about it Darth Vaders story from beginning to end was very sad. Rip Vader
If the Vader we saw in Kenobi and at the end of Rogue One is Vader with self doubt then I'd hate to see a confident Vader. 🤣
I never understood why he did not make huge upgrades to his new armor. I mean when it gets damaged he reapairs it bu himself whit the force while he is on the tank, plus he is skilled in engeneering.
So Darth Vader is essentially Robocop with superpowers
"Anakin, i have the higher ground!"
-Obiwan
Even though Vader was limited he was still able to return to the light and turn against the emperor.
George lucas said that anakin lost 70% of his potential when he got burnt and palpatine was still aftaid to let vader reach his potential
Vader often tinkered with his suit to make it better and better suit his needs. Tinkering with anything, including his suit, brought him a small sense of joy. He would often spend his little spare time working on his tie fighter, upgrading it and building it to his liking. No matter how much he changed psychologically, there was always some part of that small boy left in him. Palpatine offered to fully upgrade his suit, but he denied it because there was a 50% chance he wouldn’t survive the procedure. He also ironically gained strength from the limitations of the suit. The suit was a torture device in itself, feeding his anger and pain. This allowed him to exert more power in the force than he otherwise would.
I knew it was a deep deep trauma there when I watched the kenobi series and Vader was loving on Mustafar. I felt terrible watching that.
I think Anakin would have gone through the stages of grief and accepted that he caused his new life in the suit.
however he became bitter and took it out on others with no regard for compassion from that point. Kind of "I've done it now so might as well go all the way" type mentality..
There was a time when emperor palpatine offered Vader a more comfortable bodysuit but Vader refused it claiming that his suit which constantly left him in pain enhanced his Darth force powers
One of my all time favourite villains. Him and Sephiroth.
Imagine being in psychological and physical pain for years and there's nothing you can do
As someoje who is, it sucks
Wow bro it's like ur vader xdd
Palpatine realised that Vader was still a major threat to him, so weakened his powers and limitations to keep him in check.
Probably a smart move considering how unstable Vader is
Knowing Vader was nerfed is horrifying...his true power and potential is unreal...imagine
Ultimate potential reduced drastically yet still the most powerful being in the universe. Vader will always be my favorite
Get a Death Star built, twice, but can’t get a new suit put in the Imperial budget…
The less human you become, the less you care.

Grievous was basically foreshadowing for vader.
Actually all three Sith apprentices from the prequels are foreshadowing of Vader. Maul with his anger and lust for more power, Dooku with his intelligence and Saber combat skills, and Grevious with his mechanical body combine with the INTENSE POWER and ability to overwhelm his opponents.
@@NickMemphis136 I've never thought about it like that before, that's awesome
