- The Synergistic Setups Series is back with a true reference desktop audio setup based around Harbeth’s enigmatic and diminutive P3ESR XD speakers. The role of synergy when connecting devices in a stereo system cannot be understated, and when added to the other elements of this one, the Harbeth P3s produce a sum greater than its parts. And that’s an understatement.

Wow, having similar setup, same speakers, same stands, quite a bit upscale amp and dac compared to your setup, but those speakers really can deal with premium inputs :) Just wanted to share a word of gratitude for the tip with the sub, after watching this video I bought one against the recommendation of my dealer and I can only say I don't regret it, in fact, I would say without it my system was not complete. Thanks you for the great video and sharing your experience, can only highly recommend this setup!

Nice one. I already rock a desktop setup with the Kef LSX and ISO stands, but have been wanting to try the P3’s for a while now.. Me thinks the originals might be more forgiving of my colleagues zoom call audio though! 🤣
I’m testing in my room but nearfield they are great/amazing! Other speakers will be tested, btw hated m30.2xd maube room acoustics made it , not maybe, definitly, had audio physoc scorpioII , etc these were my favorite till 02.08! They need power, mu Fortino 6550 with audio note 2.1x signature struggle to wake them up, but it is already near field! One of the best expierences i had

Can you please explain what cables you use and how connect them
This particular system utilized some custom cabling. We would recommend some high quality speaker cables and interconnects to match the performance of whatever system you are putting together.

The p3esr is a very bright sounding speaker. I bought the pair
because literally everyone told me they were natural and easy on the
ears, but I find them to be precisely the opposite. Could it be because
I'm using a silver interconnect? Do Harbeth's just sound bad with silver
interconnects? I don't understand why everyone is raving about these
speakers.
What amp and dac did you use?

@@harisshaukat4780 What's your setup? You have a pair of p3's? How do they sound for you? My dac and my amp are far from cold harsh and analytical, so it has to be the speakers.
@@harisshaukat4780 Changed out the silver interconnect and it sounds much better. Harshness is gone, no longer overly bright or fatiguing. Don't use silver interconnects or speaker cables if you have the option. Changed out some moon audio silver dragons for standard 1ft mogami xlr's into my preamp to my amp, and it sounds very good.
Wow, I have them and I would characterize them as too warm for me. Their response curve literally drops at 10kHz
You really should talk about cables in the video as they are a significant expense for anyone looking to duplicate this system. .
I have this exact setup, but want to upgrade from the sprout. Do you think hegel h120 will be a considerable upgrade?

@Duncan Taylor Hey Duncan, can you please advise how the treble response is compared to earlier iterations, or the c7? I used to have the c7 35th and found them very rolled off on top and soggy. Do these extend flat towards 20k or do they start dropping at 8k, like the c7s. Thanks kindly
