To be fair, everything zoro did against kaido in the anime, he does in the Manga as well. People like to ignore it, but you do clearly see zoro deflect kaido attacks multiple times before then slashing him. Even see the little Klang, klang sound effects.
Also while promethus going under water is odd, we do know devil fruit powers work underwater, just the holder themselves are unable to move. So just like how nami was able to stretch luffy neck while he was drowning during the Arlong saga, big mom homies should still be able to move even though Big mom herself can't right? I mean she did make a homie out of water before also didn't she?

I think they are their own organisms after she makes them and aren’t still considered Devil fruit powers. If that were the case, everyone in Whole Cake Island would die when big mom is killed.

For example the latest episode the whole point of it was to showcase Luffy coating his attacks with conqueror's haki they didn't show that at all and show random colours and flashes
Third of all we know all of Zoro's attacks are supposed to be green confirmed by Oda not different colours the list goes on
