      Thanks man, it is definitely relaxing to watch now that it is starting to fill in. Just busy with school and just got back from Hawaii. Now I have post vacation depression. haha. Man, I wish I could live there. This next semester will be extra busy too. Going for a GIS specialist certification. Will add more work, but I need to take the opportunity. Happy New Year to you too man. Thanks for watching, and hope your tanks are doing well.

      My tank has never been an aquascape, but it is a healthy, functioning aquatic biotope. My plants are wall to wall, and the fish have to burrow through the jungle LOL.

      haha. As long as you feed them they shouldn't complain! that's why I miss my large tanks. That is the route I am going more and more. I also want to try another reef tank. Someday! I had one reef tank, but it leaked, so I had to get rid of it all.

    I don't like foreground, mid ground, background sort of aquarium layout as it is built for human to look at, your layout is fantastic, it is like a comfortable habitat for the fish to live in happily, there are plenty of hiding spaces on different levels both horizontally and vertically, as well as swimming space for them to explore, to look at fish happily inside the tank is better than looking at a so called beautiful tank while they are upset inside.

  • @DomnulSarb
    @DomnulSarb Před 6 lety +2

    How do you keep your water so crystal clear with wood in it? In my personal experience the tanins inevitably give water a yellowish tint in time.

    • @ADUAquascaping
      @ADUAquascaping  Před 6 lety +1

      DomnulSarb Manzanita wood doesn't have as many tannins. I find it keeps the water from turning yellow. Thanks for watching

    • @ADUAquascaping

      It can be harder on Buce. Just trim the roots and put at the end of the rhizomes. They will start to grow upward and in an attractive manner

      I read somewhere, that some aquascapers , use the old school method of tying their plants with cotton; they say it gives a more natural appearance.( what do you say)

  • @moriez87
    @moriez87 Před 6 lety +1

    I like to put my buce under direct light because it seems promote their coloration better but the problem is green spot algae - do you have any tips on this ? I tried to put nerite snails directly on top of the leaves but they just pass it and move along - I havent tried dosing phospate yet, I might if there is no alternatives left.

    • @ADUAquascaping
      @ADUAquascaping  Před 6 lety +1

      moriez87 dose a bit more phosphate. That evidence is still anecdotal in my opinion. You can have green spot with a lot of phosphate. There are many factors in play as to why some algae persists and others do not. The number one contributor is obviously light itself. Sometimes it takes nothing more than finding that sweet spot of light for your setup. More of a mechanical adjustment and comes with experience. Try lowering the light duration or intensity if the increase in phosphate doesn't work. Also, remove all leaves that are heavily infected

    • @moriez87
      @moriez87 Před 6 lety

      I will try to lower the light duration and removing some leaves now, thanks. love your videos please post more this year :)

    how does this led Compare to the kessil 160 and 360 in terms of intensity (par)?

    • @ADUAquascaping
      @ADUAquascaping  Před 6 lety +3

      Jack R It is closer to the 360. It also comes with 80 degree and 120 degree lenses, so you can adjust the intensity and angle depending on height and tank dimensions. As well as the standard potentiometer to adjust output. Color rendering of the Halo seems to be more accurate CRI than Kessil. Thanks for watching. Also comes with adjustable goose neck at no extra charge. Have had mine for over two years and absolutely no issues. I love mine.

    hi I have very hard water ca 100mg / l mg 33mg / l I use salt for fertilization. What do you suggest to set other parameters (k no3 po4 fe)? aquarium 112l, power 46 watts led (6 fullspectrum 40 6500k), co2 diy, substrate only gravel

    • @ADUAquascaping
      @ADUAquascaping  Před 6 lety

      FUKS check out my understanding fertilizer dosing methods video. Also, use rotolabutterfly.com dosing calculator. Dose enough fertilizer daily or several times a week. Use something similar to PPS Pro dosing method. Dosing methods are arbitrary. Toxicity theories or other nutrients hindering uptake of other nutrients, essentially countering their effectiveness- are all irrelevant when dealing with aquatic plants. You can overdose and do the EI method, but just wastes money. My point is this, just dose a comprehensive mix of fertilizers each week. Something similar to PPS Pro method should work well for your setup.
