  • The Longhorn Hitch can be tied with just our finger as a temporary host, creating a Longhorn Loop, which can be used to tie a multitude of Friction hitches, including the Longhorn Agile Hitch. It can be used in place of a Prusik Loop, and can be used to tie all the same friction hitches, and more, including the Prusik, Bachman, Klemheist, Hedden, and Autoblock. Related Videos:

Thank you John. I use your LonghornAgile combination to climb and trim palm trees. The difference I use is that I tie your friction hitch around both stands of the rope I am climbing. Additionally, I use a second longhorn friction hitch and a Spanish bowline as foot loops. Your friction hitches have proven to be very reliable and trustworthy.

Think about a book John, our electric grid is a liability which the sun may abruptly compromise at some point (I'm a PhD scientist and this is more likely than many assume over the coming decades). Your legacy deserves to be passed on, even if that occurs...
    Best.

Appreciate the comment and perspective. The only problem with writing a book is that the story is still unfolding, lol. But yes, I very much like that idea, and have considered it as something I would love to do when I retire from my career. Cheers.
