Great lesson of a great track in a style I never considered before. On little fact you got wrong, Gloria Jones did the original version in the mid 60's, but it can be argued that Soft Cell did what many would view as the definitive version.

Hi Robin, the original arrangement of this tune, written by Ed Cobb, was first recorded by Gloria Jones in 1965. Soft Cell covered it.

The Eb7 you refer to is a Eb9
yes 1/3/5/7/9
He doesn't add the 5 or the 9. He only hits the e/a, d and g strings in this. so its only an Eb7
