    Using black as an albedo colour on metal is bad practice, you shouldn't be teaching this. Most everything else you did was fine but the albedo of the main layer should've been some kind of multiply of a grey colour to keep the original base colour underneath but darken it.
    Also, painting directly on the empty paint layer directly is poor practice, you should instead be doing all of that painting on a paint layer mask that can be turned off without turning off the entire anchor, and also means you're able to layer on your masks and control them better. You're essentially painting greyscale so why not just do this in a mask?
