Yeah keen to see how you’ve got that set up. I have a 500gallon QT in my fish room, so was thinking I could run one that heats both the pond and the QT 👌🏻 Would save me a fortune on electric bill when I need to ramp the QT up.

Yer you can do that, you just just have separate zones. KitsuKoi have got a few ponds and a radiator running off one boiler I think.

I am actually building a pond very similar to yours 6m x 2m x 1.4m deep. Saw in this video you mentioned if you had a chance you'd do the pond with 2 bottom drains to cope for 40/50k l/h for the shower. Can i know what is your suggestion for me?
    1. Single bottom drain running pond @ 20k l/h, with a few jets to help "sweep" the pond, and and shower running at 40k l/h, or
    2. Run 2 bottom drain, Pond to RDF to Bio to Shower back to pond @ 40/50k l/h? and if its 2 bottom drain, how should i place the 2 bottom drains, skimmer and return for a good flow?
    What'd be your suggestion?

Hi frank, are all your koi female? Or a mix?

Why do you take the shower from the drum and not the bio side?

I pull from both the drum and the bio 50:50, this gives the water more contact time in the bio chamber 👍

Never had a sick koi in all my 30 years of koi keeping. Never EVER a sick koi either because my koi live in ICE Cold running water for about 6 months every year. Water temperature extremely cold at only 2 or 3 Celsius for months in Canada. I don't heat pond unless air temperature drops below -15 Celsius, just to keep ice from taking over. If you heat your koi ponds to extremely warn temperatures like above 5 Celsius your only making the parisites reproduce and that makes koi sick, and that's why you have to treat your fish every year. Sick koi don't grow fast and my koi grow extremely fast in summer as they are not bothered by parisites in my pond
