💚 People judge books by their cover, but the surprised looks on their faces when you show them that you're different than what they expected, or even better once given a chance. 💚
OK, wow, I'm REALLY glad I listened to this one. This is, to put it quite simply, a very well-written script, and an ESPECIALLY fantastic performance. I can really tell that you put your heart and soul into voicing this character, making her grief and pent-up anguish feel as _genuine_ possible. It really sounded like you were on the verge of breaking down and crying. Over the years, I've found that some ASMRtists kind of struggle to deliver truly _emotional_ scripts (particularly in the context of reverse comfort) in a believable way, so I gotta praise your acting skill!
Perhaps the only moment where you (possibly) broke character was during the line "he called me a female dog." It almost feels like you were trying to hold back laughter when reading that particular line - though perhaps this was intentional? After all, some people laugh when they've truly "lost it" - it's an odd expression of anger, or how _pathetic_ they feel in the moment.
Anyway, I can actually relate quite a bit to this werewolf - more than you might expect, in fact. I believe I told you this before, but I'm neurodivergent (on the autism spectrum) - and throughout my life (but especially during my childhood), I've had this internal struggle where I didn't really feel like I _deserved_ the title of "human." Because my brain works fundamentally differently than just about everyone else, I struggled with the feeling that I was _defective,_ or "broken" - to the point where I sometimes felt like I was sub-human and undeserving of even the most common courtesy. This also ties into my lifelong struggle with depression, and how a select few individuals have betrayed my trust - I felt like I didn't _deserve_ to be treated with respect or anything.
However, I think there's also a fundamental difference between this werewolf's struggle and my own, in that while the werewolf's struggle is both internal AND external (with people actually calling her names and stuff like that), my struggle has been almost exclusively an _internal_ one. Since my neurdivergency doesn't impact my _physical appearance_ in any meaningful way, it's not like people _know_ I'm neurodivergent unless they've spent a lot of time with me and started to pick up on patterns. So, I'm honestly not sure if people actually _feel_ that way about people like me, with my fear/feelings of being seen/treated as "sub-human." I've also realized that I've generally been _reserved_ about my neurodivergency, rarely mentioning it in public, and only revealing it to people I feel I can _trust._ I just haven't felt very _comfortable_ with it - maybe that's because my anxieties about it have led me to see revealing it publicly as a _sign of weakness?_ Like, I guess I'm worried that if total strangers _know_ about my condition, they'll be more likely to _exploit_ me or _manipulate_ me in order to get what they want. Yeah... I have pretty severe trust issues.
Phew... I know that was a LOT, but I'm really glad that I listened to this particular audio - overall, I got a LOT more out of it than I ever thought I would, or that you would have either.
