ffs it doesn't need saving stop exaggerating and putting far more weight on the back of devs that already have enough pressure as it is, there has always been bad games it just people have found you can monetize outrage so it gets way more attention then it did in the past.

@@TakaChan569 I’m just saying the model needs a reboot. Many AAA games have ballooned budgets around $500M, stacked with micro transactions, the new cod is 300G’s. Gaming needs management styles and competition.

Funfact: Sha Chi in Mandarin means 'Killing Aura' which is commonly used in East Asians martial arts fictions, it's used to depict the killing intents of the characters towards their enemies.
Technically it's Qi not Chi. Qi is a different pronunciation but since foreigners can't pronounce it and often mistake Q as a K sound like in queen, often it's just replaced with Chi in english localization, it's close enough.

When I was watching the IGN Live demonstration, the game I was thinking about most - especially seeing the back and forth of offense and defense - was, in fact, Sifu. I thought, “that kinda doesn’t make sense because this isn’t hand-to-hand but that’s the vibe I’m getting most…”
So it’s kinda wild that they did reference Sifu as inspiration. I KNEW IT!!

This doesn’t seem like a soulslike to me at all. Not all hack n slash games that involved dodging and partying = soulslike. Plus the combat in this looks so dynamic and fluid, instantly stood out to be out of other slashers, I think you’d be doin yourself a disservice to skip this one (if it ends up actually bein good)

The very first phantom blade game was made using RPGMaker
I kinda wish they had tried to bring some of that mobile game animated aesthetic to the main game.

Phantom Blade Zero and the Perceiver look great, I have zero interest on Wukong however, Wuchang Fallen Feathers also looks decent.
Edit: it does not look like Stellar Blade that doesn't really have expresion but like Wo Long look at the flow of combat maybe some Rise of the Ronin and some Ninja Gaiden but slower, also if developer said like DMC maybe they are playing this incorrectly however I do not see style meter or rate system therefore yeah the same problem that Stellar Blade has with enemies waiting for their turn to attack.
Also the open world can be fixed with linear sections such as pagodas, mazes, Dungeons, calendars of scripted events such as eclipses, winters, hollow days, astrological allignation etc and martial arts festivals also.

@@user-qy4gp8cd8t There's no news but there's no real evidence that they've given up, and the developer has always had this understated style that is still something to look forward to. By the way, they make games for teenage girls, and it's a miracle that Perceptor exists.
I agree about it not quite being DMC/Nier Automata. Those games push style beyond ground combat and have extremely intricate combos and canceling mechanics. I would say its something more like Jedi Fallen Order / Stellar Blade. The combat is more grounded but leaves room for style and fast paced action with different ways to defend against and punish the enemy. I very much prefer this style over DMC/Nier since the highest level of skill you can achieve is more reachable than crazy juggling tech.
When it was mentioned that the game PBZ is suppose to bring out the look and feel of PS1/PS2 Era action games, i was already thinking this was more akin to Tenshu and Onimusha, rather than Souls. The gameplay footage even looks like it has the same janky early ps era controls which has its own charm, sorta laughed at 2:58. I'm pretty excited for this game.

My opinions on the exfoliation on the game is making interesting and unique for the player to enjoy the world. Also having gameplay for how to switch things up. If this game has new game plus add in some exclusive boss fights and animes to spice things are.

In my book its still a souls like, since it has high risk high reward combat with dodges, parries and critical strikes.
The few changes to the formula doesn't change the fact, that is is indeed a souls like.

I missed these Ninja Gaiden style games. Not Soulslike games that we kept getting too much of. I like StellarBlade for being bit of both. We aint getting KH4 this year after 2 years ago from trailer.

Its an hack n slash baby , not all hack n slash play the same some have air combos some don't. Some provide more of an challenge than others.
Experts opinions frankly doesn't matter when its a demo, they have no idea how the game will open up like with stellar blade it seems like a sould like but once everything unlocks its clearly far from that its just an hack n slash . . .
