You know the best compliment Mike can give is “no hot oil needed”
He probably puts hot oil on pancakes
@@patobantan420 😂 probably
"If you serve this to me at a restaurant, i wont question you" is the one

Did you know that Bruce Lee had a "Vegetarian" brother. He's Broco Lee.
Lol. This is so funny

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Good one 🤣
this is GOLD lol
I died when he said the Korean range should be called “Trader Joe Oppa” hahaha
"No hot oil required." 👀
I almost fell off my chair lol.
Certainly a Top 10 anime plot twist.
I had to pause and rewind. Never heard him say that before!!!
Mike doesn't even like food, it's just a hot oil delivery system
I thought there was a fly on my screen😂😂You got me!
Such is life.
@@png7725 omg same i tried to wipe it off and I was so confused lmao
😂😂😂
I was eating a slice of pizza and I dropped it cause of the fly. Thanks dude 😂👍🏼
You’re such a nice, down-to-earth person with actual good content. CZcams really needs people like you instead of those creating viral content full of stupidity, immaturity and expletives to gain followers and views. Thank you Mike ❤️
It's baffling how someone can be so selfless in this day and age. I appreciate the message you send out to folks and the influence you have over people. I think it's awesome that you're using your platform for good. I wish you personal and professional success and happiness. Keep those dad jokes coming!
Mikey: It is a bit oily
Also Mikey: puts hot oil*
Hot oil hits different
I was thinking the same but hot oil contains lot of spices than normal oil so i can understand 😂
LMAOO
As someone who uses his hot oil only at a reduced heat level.. This is entirely accurate, and delicious!
His dipping oil is very different than “oily” food. Oily food is hard to eat
Mike: "No Hot Oil Required"
Me: *pikachu shocked face meme*
You mean hot oil ?
@@kaleb759 you are right! thank you for the correction!
@@sandeshsaru7428 No problem mate
I laughed so hard when mikey picked the vegetables spring roll, sighing, put em back and picked the chicken one 😭😭😭😂😂
If Trader Joe’s carries frozen Vietnamese food I’m sure Trader Nguyen is the one making them
Tuyết Vy Đinh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Too funny.
Lmaooo
Trader Joe's has frozen microwavable pho, and it was the worst frozen meal I've ever had.
😅😂
Mike’s solution to everything: just dip it in hot sauce
Michelin chefs: 🤯
Judy Imohi maybe 😂. You are right but. When you mix hot oil with other substances it becomes a sauce :)
He's from Xian...they like spicy food...
My mom would be cringing at the use of hot oil on everything. Saying that it’ll overpower the delicate tastes of certain other condiments or foods.
I was dying laughing at the ‘piquant’ bit😂
I got the giggles but then couldnt stop when he went on to see how it was meant to be pronounced.... the kicker was when he said "Trader Joes went all Harvard on me" 😂
I was too lol
I'm in tears 😂
trader joe's has THE BEST indian food, the paratha is to die for as well as the channa masala, palak paneer, and chiken tikka.
That message from the small restaurant owner is really heart warming. Thank you for what you are doing for our town.
Of the things you showed, the scallion pancakes and teriyaki chicken are my picks. I’ve purchased them so many times. I use a sauté pan for the scallion pancake and the microwave for the chicken. The teriyaki chicken actually tastes great even without the sauce.
If u like veggies get one of their stir fry veggies or cauliflower brocoli veggie pack. Put veggies and chicken terriiyaki with sauce pack in a pan cover with a few tablespoons of water let it steam and cook. Really good stuff, eat it with a bit of siracha game changer.
I use a sauté pan as well. No matter where I’ve bought scallion pancakes they are always greasy I’ve even bought it in Asian grocery store.
Lesson of the day: we need Mickey's hot oil.
I would pay good money for his hot oil
@@masteromar3265 No need. It's easy as piss to make. Once you do it for the first time you'll see how simple it is.
Who's Mickey?
Jk yeah we need his hot oil
He has videos on how to make it. Super easy and awesome
He had a hot oil recipe video while back....
Mike I didn’t see the ending when I watched before, WOW you are so amazing! Actually going out and speaking up for innocent peoples whose livelihoods were destroyed. That is beyond words. So many people are so full of it and encouraging awful behavior, it makes me so happy to see someone like you doing such a generous thing.
Tell your parents that no matter how much you made them anxious back in your wanna be ninja days - you turned out great and they raised a wonderful son. You will be a great dad too. I’ve watched you for so long, I can say that with conviction, plus you already have the head start on dad jokes! 🙏🙏❤️❤️
So glad I stumbled upon this channel! You're helping so many people through these strange times.
MIKEY PLS TRY ALL OF THE TRADER JOE'S FROZEN INDIAN FOODS!! Rate the chicken Tikka Masala
YASSSS PLSSS
YASSSSS PLZZZZ
Plzzz Mikey
Aloo Chaat!!!!
The chicken tikka is amazing!
You have a heart of gold Mike! 😭 We need more people like you
Food: Vegeta-
Mike: I can't see😳
In my mind I see this: Mike eating cereal: "It's ok it tastes a bit funky. It's average. I know what this needs some hot oil. Oh now its, it's not bad, pretty good." 🤣🤣
OMG: as I type this comment Mike says "No hot oil required." Did I hear that right? 😉
Great videos as usual. 🎉🌞🧡👍
Mike’s disgust at the veggie spring rolls was hilarious! Like “why are you even here??” 🤣
wow I just came home from Trader Joe's and debated if I should get the Kung Pao chicken but didn't. I wish I saw this earlier 😕
I absolutely love this channel! You have such a genuine personality and that is refreshing
Love how much you're doing for others, Mikey. As always, thanks for the fun vid!
broccoli is literally one of the best vegetables, the western version is able to absorb so much sauce in it, it just just amazing when complimented with saucy dishes
The scallion pancakes are amazing. Cook them from frozen without oil in preheated non-stick pan. I blot w paper towel too. They're great with a lightly fried egg on top. I've been addicted to them for a few years.
Mikey you are the man! Thank you for being supportive of small businesses and being so generous with your platform! I love your videos so much!
Thanks for the entertaining review! I've been contemplating some of these items and know what I should go for now.
When Mikey Chen gives his seal of approval on frozen Asian food products, you know you have to rush out and get some!
Was just thinking this! I hate most frozen Asian-inspired foods so I’m excited to see some he likes!
Can confirm, the kung pao chicken was great
Mikey: goes into the store and buys ice cream first
My mom: *You weren't supposed to do that.*
Yes. Frozen stuff last. Lol
@@akong331 exactly. Mikey has broken the #1 rule of grocery shopping.
Lmao so true
Always get the ice cream last...and then forget to go back to that aisle before checkout and just get home and go “damn it I forgot the ice cream!”....literally me every time
but what if I forget it later?
Best commentary and descriptions on the food 👌 gives a great idea on food
I love your videos!!! Love that you are helping small businesses! Keep up the awesome work!

We need shops as good here!Always a treat watching you cook! Looks delicious ❤
I can never tell if you’re gonna react good or bad 😂 eating it going “mmm mmm” and then just “this is horrible.”
I love your videos. Your personality is so inviting. Plus, I'm always curious to hear people react to and try foods. But the last few minutes where you talked about helping small businesses was just heartwarming. The inhumanity of people is becoming more and more visible and depressing, but your response to what you can do in crisis was so encouraging. Thank you.
Mikey, try baking those Korean pancakes. They come out soo crispy and delicious!!! They’re oily enough on their own, so you just need to bake them. One of my favs from TJ’s. 400 degrees for 10 mins, and then you’re in heaven! 🙏🏽😋🤤😋👌🏽
Bless you Mikey, it's a French word for spicy or a bee sting! pronounced pee-cont in French. Love the vlogs!
haha I have bad vocab
That's awesome that you're trying to support small businesses! My husband runs a small business in our town and thankfully we've been able to keep it going through this crazy year so far, but I know others haven't been as lucky. It always makes me happy when I see CZcamsrs use their platform to support and encourage small businesses so thank you!
First time watching your videos and I must say I am now a fan and subscribed. Very entertaining.
"I gotta stop kidding myself"
I feel the same way when I look at the basket, just get the cart.
Mikey: “Hi good morning.”
Me watching at night: 👁👄👁
Mikey has such a beautiful soul. Thank you Mike for everything you do. Bless you❤️
Your videos are really great. I can't help my self rewatching all of it.
Words I thought I would never hear from Mikey: "No hot oil required"
Adrian Palaylay but he says it all the time as an exclamation of how good food is. I mean I’m pretty sure he uses that phrase as a rating for food.
Right? I think hell froze over 😂😂
You've always struck me as a genuinely good guy and the last minute or so of this video confirms it.
I love watching you throw down on popular items like the Whole Foods video lol. PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE! We value your experienced opinion :D
I’ve always wanted to do this! Thanks for the vid 😊
Can’t say no to mochi, simply can’t resist because it’s so good
I just commented this as well, get ALL the mochi you can when going to Trader Joe's, it's kind of like an unspoken rule/law :)
I don’t like mochi ):
@@carriewhitee even mochi ice cream?
The orange chicken has been their #1 selling item for so many years now.
Very funny!! Enjoyed watching this 👍
It is amazing the way you use your platform to help other people and I really do appreciate that and I enjoy your videos.💕💕🥰🥰
You seriously had me cracking up at piquant and finding out the pronunciation.
Surprised that Mikey hasn't tried talking to Trader Joe's about saleing his hot oil.
Love that you are wanting to help small businesses!!! Love your channel!!!
So very glad I found this channel! Going to TJ on Wednesday, without fail.
"Sorry, all you piquant-word knowers!"
This video is one of the most amusing you did later. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Also, trivia: I think "piquant" is an acquired French word. As you found out, it means spicy.
Hot tip for when you come back to Italy: in Italian the same word would be "piccante". It sounds like a term you would be glad to know when choosing food.
Yep! picante in spanish means spicy
In the Netherlands we say “Pikant”
Also, it's pronounced "pee- kaunt"
I was about to say “I know the word piccante” but it make sense since it’s also a hispanic word. From what I can tell, we use the Spanish version most
Omg I kept thinking I was going crazy and he was just trying to say "picante". Latin languages for ya 😂
"i gotta stop kidding with myself; i'm gonna need a cart" HHAHAHAHAHAAHAH TRUEEEEEEEEE
You crack me up so much. Keep it going!
Thank you Mikey, I'll try your recommendations, looking forward
Mikey you have an even bigger heart than an appetite!!! You got me tearing up at the message from the small business. I love you for that alone!!!
I fell TFO so hard when he went for the goddamn spring rolls.. man, like "Vegetable... *Meh* Chicken!" ROFLMAO
Mikey did another great video. Class act all the way!
love these type of videos
This food review was so helpful. I always feel overwhelmed by the frozen food selection at Trader Joe’s. You made it a little easier. Also, thank you for all you do to support small businesses! You have a big heart❤️
I love the dumplings sitting on the chair behind him
Started watching you today first time you rock!!!!
Love this! Nice pink rice maker... nice touch :)
To be fair, once he spied the broccoli, that dishes days were numbered😒
Yup, with the broccolis it was never going to make it to the must try list lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣 yup
Best comment yet 🤣🤣
I love broccoli
He had me fooled at first 😂
You should use an air fryer for most of their fried items- like the mandarin orange chicken.
Always lovely to watch your video Mikey :) hope your family is keeping safe and healthy too ❣❣❣
Thank you for helping small businesses!! Very sweet 🌸
Mike, TJ’s sells a Korean Short Rib (Galbi) in the frozen section! Would love your opinion on it!
Their galbi is good...
Got 2 packages in the freezer right now, lol! One of my favorites. Pricey but worth it.
I love their galbi too!
What is "Short Rob", cos I've heard of 'Short ribs', is that what you meant?
I've been working for TJ's well over a decade. They've always done well by me, but never so more than now. Wage increases, increased discount for purchases, paid days off for symptoms, etcetera. They're not just providing quality products. It's an employer that has your back through thick and thin. I'm glad you appreciate the frozen options. Perhaps you might survey other sections? We regularly have new and exciting offers in most departments.
Awesome review! I’m going to try more traders joes stuff that you did! Thx🙂
Mikey...you are awesome dude :)
Thank you!
Piquant is a fancy way of saying spicy/zippy/vinegary. I'm used to hearing it for like mildly hot/sour European food. Same root as the Spanish "Picante" - although most things I've heard described as piquant are mostly pickled and a tiny bit spicy - like pepperoncini.
It sounds like the german word pikant
In romanian picant means mildly spicy
It's more likely as in French, same word "piquant"
Picante was borrowed directly from the french word piquant but came to mean spicy hot in spanish. The spelling was changed to preserve the pronunciation and the e was added to make it a proper spanish adjective. Piquant derives from the same root as pike (ie something sharp).
I am from Brazil and yeah, picante means spicy/hot. (We don’t speak spanish, we speak portuguese)
Yay I’m early good day Mikey Nd everyone here how is everyone doin today
Be careful of wearing masks. You're breathing in your own bacterial particles, which will make you more sick.
Thank u
Really enjoyed your video Mikey You really give great insight into fast food and frozen gems! Stay safe.. ❤️ From the UK 🇬🇧
Thanks for supporting small business u have a big heart! Keep up gj
“Trader Mings” Any relative of Trader Joe’s is a good friend of mine 🤣
Mikey just likes hot oil. Anything else is just a condiment at this point.
Ps wtf do I keep watching this glorious man at night. I have to take food breaks inbetween videos!!!
Bless mikey... I love your videos of small businesses.
This is great! Especially since Mikey has been to all the countries and tasted all the foods these dishes come from, so I 100% trust his assessment.
Your reviews are so true to me. I believe you. I love Trader Joe's, but haven't been able to go in almost 2 years now. (I'm sick, I have MS, can't walk anymore 🙍🏽) so thank you for also taking us to the store 😀. Thank you! I wish I could try that Pad Thai! 😋
Love watching Mike dip everything in the ramen soup in his Japan 7-Eleven episode
I truly appreciate your rice cooking method, that’s the only way I cook it now and it always comes out perfect. I never have to measure anything and it’s perfect.
Well done Mike , awesome how you were able to help them 🥰🥰🥰😘
I never been inside a Traders Joe yet. After watching Mike's videos I think I am missing out. So much delicious food.
Man, u should start bottling up those Chef Mikey's Hot Oil and sell it next to the foods in Trader's Joe
