#MarioKart - Hry
In this household, we proudly stan Double Dash.
I remember the old list. I also remember when it was a collab, and I also remember using anime music for the minute long intro.
What was that song anyway?
@@ibilesfighter3.16 Blazblue: continuum shift 2 opening theme. Still slaps.
Don’t forget the hippo
Abandon rainbows, embrace monke
and all hail the Funky
Toad driving through Coconut Mall:
"Lotta space in this mall..."
The thumbnail contains Mario, Luigi, and the karts' double dash models. Is this foreshadowing his favourite Mario Kart?
EDIT: Yep, just as I predicted. :D
It’s Mario kart 8 deluxe.
@@crimsoncrusader518 it’s not
I think one of my personal favourites is Neo Bowser City. I love the aesthetic the place has, and it just being a simple race track with tricky turns makes it really fun for me personally. Plus I love how they updated the look in 8. I don't think many people like it though, but I really enjoy it.
I wish it was an actual level in a mario game
@@93ImagineBreaker Honestly it would be pretty cool idea seeing a futuristic bowser setting for a mainline Mario game. Guess the closest we got to that top my head was New Donk City (Mecha Wiggler Invasion) in Super Mario Odyssey and World Bowser in Super Mario 3D World.
Mario fans: nooooo you can't just leave rainbow road out the list!!
Maverick: hehe, dk mountain cannon go BOOM
Honestly respect your opinions my Dude! Keep up the great work, and I'm willing to bet you're gonna have a LOT of fun playing as sephiroth in smash ultimate, looking forward to another awesome countdown
Honestly most of the rainbow road tracks are overrated, even as a tradition they play it safe most of the time
@@jaydencooke1805 mario kart 7 for me is an exception, so good
Benjamin: HOW BOUT I DO, ANYWAYYYYYY...
Glad you're going back to this particular countdown .
Remembered fondly that collab with QG. Really love the Mario Kart 8 as the transition music.
Huh, I guess this is a remake. Except now you’re going solo.
I have very fond memories of being shot out of the canyon on in DK mountain for the first time
I’d had to say music park is my favorite, especially power sliding on the instruments.
why was Waluigi Pinball not even in the honourable mentions?
it is Waluigi Pinball!
the track with unique sound effects when picking up the items, unique theme, amazing music & a giant Waluigi looking over the racers
Ah, now this was a treat. It's been a while since your last countdown and you delivered this time around. Mario Kart might not be my favorite past time anymore like it was all those years ago, but it is still a part of my childhood - Scratch that, it's practically part of who I am. And it's part of my love for Mario Kart that has found some of your more recent videos about obscure kart racers all the more fascinating.
Great video bro! Coconut mall is one of my faves too!
Great video as always! It was great to see you put up a countdown again!
Yay! A new Maverick countdown to finish off the year! And thankfully, you’ve still got a knack for it. This was a great list, Ben. Thank you, and I hope you have a Happy New Year.
Loved watching this: thanks for putting so much work into these videos, they are awesome Ben
Sad that Mushroom Gorge, Piranha Plant Slide or Electrodrome didn't make the cut. But I'm glad we agree that 3DS Rainbow Road, is the best Rainbow Road.
Looking forward to this one. But no matter how different this list is from mine, I think we all agree that DK summit is the best Donkey Kong inspired track in the series! (Even though it has very little in common with DKC games)
Airship Fortress has always been my favorite track.
it is so cool to see another count down hope to see more like favorite bosses.
Man I still remember when the video with the Gamingfamily and QG came out. I guess it’s been a long time huh, Maverick? Happy New Year everyone!
I always love it when you do top tens
I seriously need to replay both Mario Kart Wii and DS, those 2 games were genuinely some of the best games I have played. I played them all the time when I was younger and spent ages trying to perfect each and every exploit, from the snaking in Mario Kart DS to the Ultra Shortcuts in Mario Kart Wii. Those 2 games were probably the most fun I've had with a video game NGL
And here I thought that you retired from the countdown business...
...but a welcome surprise that you're still making them! While I think you should stick to game reviews in the future (I mean, you crafted your own niche via the obscure kart racers and whatnot), the occasional countdown wouldn't hurt at all!
Keep up the good work, Black Mage. And I really hope you're having a blast with Sephiroth in Smash!
Happy New Year Mav, I hope your projects get fulfilled and may you get what you need.
I’m pretty sure most people love DS for the missions. Which was already a thing in Arcade GP
That kazoo during the number transition.
I never actually noticed the kazoo in Waluigi Stadium's song until I was editing the video.
I never actually noticed the kazoo in Waluigi's Stadium until you pointed it out
@@BenjaMage when you stop and listen closely, its very hard NOT to notice. To me it sticks out like the sorest of thumbs.
Dude, you got some excellent taste in tracks
About the porcupines found in the Nintendo 64 version of Yoshi Valley, I believe they were supposed to be Porcupos, which are the porcupine creatures that originated as an enemy found in "Super Mario Bros. 2", and I think it's ironic that they ended up getting replaced with boring ol' Goombas in the version of the track from "Mario Kart 8", since it actually added more variety to the creatures found in the Mushroom Kingdom.
May next year be an awesome one.
And have Covid get the axe.
When you reach 100K subs, I’m going to tell everyone to celebrate this incredible achievement.
I hope 2021 goes better than 2020. Happy New Year!
P.S: I got a crick in the neck yesterday. Not related, but thought I’d mention it.
Hearing you talk about Mario Kart Wii, I remembered that I beat the expert staff ghost on Bowser’s Castle 3 because I memorized the track layout.
This was the video that introduced me to Ben. I'm very happy I found this video.
My favorite Mario Kart track is ironically, Big Blue. The fast pace of the track (especially on 200cc) is exhilarating, the incorporation of F-Zero iconography is super clever, and the GODLY remix of theme using both heavy guitars and saxophones. There was a lot of work put into this track, and this makes me forever wish that Nintendo will one day revive the F-Zero series.

If you do plan doing more countdowns, You should do Top 10 Crash Racing Games Tracks next.
Growing up as a child, we didn't have a video game console. Only a PC. So I was pretty late with getting into the Mario Kart series. Though if I did grew up with Nintendo systems, I would have a soft spot for Mario Kart 64 and maybe Super Mario Kart. And if I bought a Gamecube instead of a Playstation 2 as a late teenager, I would've really gotten into Double Dash as well. Though to be honest, Double Dash is definitely the one of those three that still holds up today in my opinion. I just wish it got a re-release on Switch, like the first three and DS one had already on the Wii U!
Oh my word, I just imagined the best racing track ever. Imagine Cloudtop Cruise, but altered to be a Sonic Riders Stage. It would be legendary!
Mario Kart DS, Double Dash, Wii, 7, and 8 (more specifically Deluxe) are the only games in the series that I've played, so I'll just share my 5 favortie Mario Kart tracks (in no particular order) with one in each game.
-Mario Kart Double Dash: Wario Colsseum
-Mario Kart DS: Waluigi Pinball
-Mario Kart Wii: Moonview Highway
-Mario Kart 7: Neo Bowser City
-Mario Kart 8: Sweet Sweet Canyon
I'm already excited
Damn, talking about it for the third time? Impressive.
Happy to see dk mountain at #1. It was my favorite as well
WELL aint this a surprise
Favorite track lists in no particular order:
1. Electrodrome (MK8)
2. Maple Treeway (Wii)
3. Baby Park (Double Dash)
4. Tick Tock Clock (DS)
5. Music Park (MK7)
6. Choco Mountain (MK64)
7. Ribbon Road (Super Circuit)
8. Toad's Factory (Wii)
9. Dolphin Shoals (MK8)
10. Rainbow Road (MK7)
A new countdown awesome.
Cloud top reminds me of the secret levels in the new super mario bros games
Also Koopa cape has great music
I want a mario kart with a story mode
Tick tock clock is number 1 my prediction.
I was wrong.
Happy new year maverick
What a great video to top off the year...... As bad as it was for the world, but hey a lot of people have made the most of it, including my home church in actually doing live streams of there church services during the summer this year.
ANYWAYS, sorry getting off topic, I loved this video, all that you chose for the count down was pretty good, and I didn't expect the number one entry to be what it is, but cool!
The tracks of the picks were awesome and some of them took me back..... It was cool.
Hm you like autumn? Cool! I'm more spring, yet winter during Christmas season only.
Yoshi's valley: Fun fact.... I hated this stage because, if I recall.. Got lost or the stage felt overwhelming and also hard, don't know, there was something about it that I didn't like about it.
Also I find it interesting on what the ? Are in the track, didn't know what it was there for and I think made me not like it even more as a kid, but that's pretty cool! Also the Porkipines.... Oh that's a shame.
Hm... Honestly until you said something I never noticed how frequent each game has the idea of racing while cars are in the track too.
Coconut mall, ya it's an iconic stage, I've seen memes and videos involving it, though the song being good for pecrastination..... I'm NOT one of those people so... Interesting that's a thing.
Music track... Is one of my favorite track ever too! Both in concept and to play in generally. It's awesome!
Honorable mentions: Your story on how you wished you and your sister could get into the castle then having your uncle show you Mario 64 for the first time...... My gosh that's an awesome story! I can see it now:
"I want to go into the castle. " "Well you can't here but there is a game where you can if you want to pl-" "YES PLEASE!".... And from the day you entered the castle, your world was changed forever! Lol.
Also to answer your question on if not having a rainbow road track on a top 10 Mario Karts list is legal?... Well NOT anymore! Lol.
The Clock one on number 3 looks interesting, at least in the DS version honestly, and how you described the way the track goes in DKs mountain is interesting and never thought of it that way... Pretty cool, and I agree for the cannon being cool.
Well got to go, it was an awesome list to watch today, can't wait for your future videos next year hopefully, good work bro, good work. Well got to go, see ya, and HAPPY NEW YEAR! May next year be WAY better them THIS year! God Bless!
P. S. On a side note I tried sense it's free for the switch for a limited on time till the 5th of January, I got to play Crash Nitro Karts for the switch! For the first time ever.... My impression? Hard and fun, the hard part is......... THE DRIFTING IN THIS GAME!... Trying to get the kart to go the right direction when I start the drift is hard at times because my mind is mapped to Mario Kart, so that is hard, I'm slowly getting it though so ya... But it's fun. Everyone check it out before it goes away from being free!
My favourite track is a tie between MK8's Rainbow Road (the original one) and Double Dash's Bowser's Castle.
My list is WAY different, but it's fun to see yours.
The black mage countdowns are back bois, get the popcorn!
Back? Y'all talking like he left in the first place.
Black mage isn’t a race, man. It’s a class/job.
@@TheQuarterGuy well it's kinda been a long time since i saw him made a top 10.
Not like a bad thing or anything.
Also i never thought you of all people would be the one to respond.
Hold on. Let me edit it.
@@kingbash6466 yeah i know. I'm just being cautious in case i was mistaken for racism.
Ah Cloudtop Cruise, for some reasons my friends have a hard time winning against me on this track, odd
Oh yeah. I remember you doing a collab with TheQuarterGuy on this topic, but oh boy was that a long time ago. Though I don't recall your collab with TheGamingFamily1. Speaking of a long time ago, the thing of "Something that was number one on a previous list is now number 3 on another" actually isn't new to me, when it comes to you. To be specific, I remember you doing a list of Top 10 favorite final bosses (which I'm pretty sure is among the videos that you have deleted) where Dr. Neo Cortex from Crash Warped (PS1) was number one. Then you made Top 10 Crash Bandicoot bosses (which I know for sure is among the videos that no longer exist), and Cortex made only number 3 on that list. You even used Sequelitis' head exploding animation (which is from Mega Man vs Mega Man X) to represent how some people might be surprised about how the previous number one entry got bumped down a bit. Ah, countdowns from the early-2010s, am I right? Good times.
Totally agree with you on #1.
You made my boi proud.
Well, this was an unexpected video.
Only really played DS, the original 8 on Wii U and bits of Wii and 64.
I'm more into Crash Team Racing for my mascot kart racer fix.
And Gran Turismo for racing games full-stop.
For anyone else confused as to why so many people seem to use Coconut Mall’s theme to study, there was a TikTok that went viral a while back of someone talking about how productive they were while listening to it.
Is it just me or I find it funny that his number two is the same as the number two on wambu's top ten Mario kart tracks
cool love you're videos
You earned a sub
Now if only we get a Mario Kart game that allows us to use all of the tracks from the previous games into the new game. Like a celeberation of Mario Kart. Along with a All Tour Mode.
A Mario Kart Ultimate of sorts?
@@BenjaMage Yes Maverick. Exactly like that. The Ultimate Mario Kart game with both new..and all of the previous tracks. Something to say. "Yeah.. were going on a huge high note. For all the Mario Kart lovers.
@@GalaxiaKnightXwould the booster pass from Mario kart 8 deluxe count?
@@galfinsp7216 I would say yes and no. Yes because sure there are plenty of courses that are from previous games in there. Yet it's also no because there are plenty of others that I know people want in the game but who knows if it'll appear. So if a 2nd booster course pass were to happen then I would say definitely. If not then I think it's like half.
Honestly in my opinion, N64 Rainbow Road is a bad Rainbow Road due to it being practically 3 times longer than the other tracks taking 6-9 minutes to complete 3 laps and no real dangers when every other Rainbow Road (including the first one) provided a much harder challenge with lack of guard rails, turns that can easily be over or undershot sending you off the course, boost panels that can send you flying, and narrow paths that are perfect for laying traps. The only good places to lay traps are on the turns only because banana peels on turns guarantee a spin out whereas on a straightaway, you can just break and cancel out the effect of the peel, but even then, the turns are fairly wide. And the only real stage hazard are 2 easily avoidable, slow moving chain chomps. I'm so glad they made it have more of a challenge in Mario Kart 8, which you expect the final course in a racing game to be the hardest course of the game.

"Is that even legal."
Of course it is...
_...as long as you include Waluigi Pinball as a substitute, which you did not._
*[police sirens]*
Benny-boy can absolutely get away with not putting Rainbow Road on a top-10 Mario Kart track list, which pleases even Rainbow Road enthusiasts such as ourselves.
Anyway, it's hard to explain, but I tend to judge Mario Kart levels by their music. If they have good music, I'll put it on my faves.
I wonder what your thoughts would be for the booster pass from Mario kart 8 deluxe would be with all the tracks they brought back and new ones they featured
Wait, The Excitebike track is randomly generated, just like the nes game??? i hardly noticed, but then again i hardly noticed the randomly generated tracks in the nes game anyways :P
Toadette first appeared in Mario Kart Wii, 2008.
Datpags will like your choice of number 1
Man, you guys had bad quality back when you made your original lists. Anyways...
10. For some reason I thought you were going to put a boo sound effect when you admitted not enjoying the game as much. Anyways, I love this track.
9. Um... what was with that chair squeak sound at 3:17? Or was it in the actual song and I just didn't notice? I doubt that's the case, and if it isn't, then what was it? It honestly bothers me hearing that weird squeaky noise every time the transition play. Anyways, for some reason I was just thinking about Mushroom City (I wasn't expecting it to be the actual entry though)
8. I love it!
7. I agree
6. Can't say I disagree, it's definitely awesome
5. Awesome!
4. Bet you guys didn't expect a beach level to be so epic! (I mean beach levels are still awesome, but you get the point) BTW thank you very much for helping me find that website! But do you know how to zoom in on it?
3. Why would I judge you for changing your opinion in the I-dont-know-how-many years it's been since you first stated this was your favorite? And yes, it's a good track. And the MK8 version is MUCH better.
2. The screen kinda freezes for a bit at 15:36. Anyways, yeah this track rocks.
1. Yeah it does feel like a weird choice, but you have your reasons. And the cannon part is definitely awesome.
Yes, that noise in the transitions is from the song itself; it's a kazoo.
Black Mage Maverick thanks
Not a bad list. My personal favorite is Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
@Phoebe LaRose Yes.
My top ten:
10: Maka Wuhu (3DS)
9: Airship Fortress (DS)
8: Koopa Cape (Wii)
7: Rainbow Road (Wii U/NS) (I get that most people have this Rainbow Road, but those people are just idiots who haven’t played 200cc)
6: Maple Treeway (Wii)
5: Music Park (3DS)
4: Rainbow Road (Wii)
3: Rainbow Road (GCN)
2: Rainbow Road (3DS)
1: Big Blue (Wii U/NS)
Ha ha. Monke cannon go BOOM.
Koopa Troopa Beach
Choco Mountain
Wario Stadium
Yoshi Valley
Banshee Boardwalk
Ribbon Road
Airship Fortress
Tick Tock Clock
Music Park
Big Blue
64 is my fave of the series
I'm mixed on 64.
THEGAMINGFAMILY FOREVER
To be honest I like the Mk8 Rainbow road
Do mountain WAS one of my favourites. However it was ruined for me in wii due to winning being a matter of knowing an area skip or not.
Get too good in the online? Everyone selects DK mountain till you run out of coins in the lobby. Yes I know level selection is RND but 11 dk mountains 1 rainbow road... who do you thinks gonna win.
In short there's a skip by stopping wheel charging and instead of sloloming down the mountain you shoot down the track In a straight line via an unintentional cheat...
DUDE, I GUESSED NUMBER ONE SUBCONSCIOUSLY!!!! AND I WAS RIGHT!!!!!
DOUBLE DASH IS THE BEST!!! WHY WON'T THEY ADD THE DOUBLE RACER SYSTEM IN THE NEXT MARIO KART GAME?!?!??!
the track that took the number five spot? is it really that good? i don't know- THIRD PLACE!

what ever happened to the GamingFamily1 ?
EDIT: You should look at the Mario Kart Arcade games.
You know, I’d be down for a Mario Kart game that featured tracks based off games in the Yoshi, Wario, and DKC series. Imagine if we could race through a track based off Lake Orangatanga or Bramble Blast.
Also I would love to see tracks from the Mario Kart Arcade games appear outside the arcades. Like a Pac-Man Tour in Mario Kart Tour or DLC in a future Mario Kart game.
Spoilers:
Everyone: Annoyed he didn’t list Rainbow Road
Me: Annoyed he didn’t list Bowser’s Castle
0:09 I get the feeling you expected this video to take longer to make than you thought it would when you recorded this... that or you just want it to be over already(don't we all)
I intended on putting this out in January, but I finished it _way_ sooner than I thought it would.
@@BenjaMage you did had allot of free time since you were off from work for a few days
What's with the odd buzzing sound during the transitions?
You mean the kazoo from the song?
@@BenjaMage ...Huh. I swear I never heard that coming out of the old TV I played my Gamecube on. But upon listening to it online...yeah. It's there all right. My bad!

Wario Colosseum is the best Mario Kart track and I will take that opinion to the grave.
Tbh i never liked baby park in the slighest. (I know unpopular opinion) xD
I'm sad. Not even a honorable mention for my favorite Mario Kart game. No love for SNES one
Well it's cheaty, unbalanced and repetitive,in terms of gameplay and track design it's the second weakest in the series (first goes to super circuit)
@@jaydencooke1805 And yet still the one I played the most and still play to this day. Although it's easier than future titles
ouo so whats wrong with the colab? nothing he wants to try a solo
Nothing, it's just been 6 years and I wanted to do an 100% personal take on the topic (collabs take both collaborators' opinions into account and all).
Anybody who likes Baby Park and/or DK Mountain is a casual
What would you consider a track for "non-casuals" then?
@@BenjaMage The a tech heavy tracks (mushroom bridge, peach beach, and mushroom city) are traditionally propular with the time trial community. Yoshi Circuit is another smooth course
uhh DS was the best MK before 7/8
in my opinion, music park is a bastard child of a track. it’s usually listed by theme alone. as someone who time trials mk7, the layout and obstacles of the track are completely garbage. races can pretty much be determined in the last ten seconds because of the shroomless shortcut at the end. 3/10
can i just say screw the remade verson of baby park its a bad track to of been remade especaly for bike users (like myself) and is just too frantic and also too hard to control things through the dumb u turns
Am I the only one that thinks dk mountain is overrated I do like it but it isn’t a masterpiece
