But whether you are slapping a turbo on your NA car or upgrading your factory one, there are some things you need to know beforehand. The basics if you will… we’re going to cover nomenclature, identifying your goals, some tools to help you select the proper size of a turbo, and some quick tips to help extend the life of your turbo.

What turbo to get?
Stick to good brands like Garret ball bearings can't go wrong there and don't jump on ebay BS.
And always hear that you should always use a dump valve is this correct?,Alot people don't have them because like the sound the turbo's make when stalling but is that good or bad for a turbo?
1989 Dodge 5.9 cummins, 12v [no computer] (wiring fire, everything burnt up)... 2 wires, Starter & Pump... 200,000 miles. not really well kept... I want to add some power, it has gotten sluggish lately, seems to have lost power... Including a turbo - inter cooler - fuel pen - what are the first and most cost effective things to do...

That civic blew a coolant line, turbo did not explode. Also, while looking for a max 450hp turbo it doesnt really narrow down the options. it suggested big T4 turbos which would have TERRIBLE lag issues around that HP level, I mean terrible.

I am building a front wheel drive 2010 mini S R56 with an N14 engine. My end goal is a streetable at night and daily in high traffic car with 500hp. The stock hp is 175ish. It's Turbocharged and has all the bolt ons, a built bottom end with cylinder support and forged internals, and methanol. All I need now is a bigger turbo, head with bigger intake/exhaust valves, and figure out what to do with my transmission. Can you suggest a clutch and flywheel kit for me, and do I need to do anything with the rest of the trans like the gears and all? Thanks guys

You can, with enough money anything is possible! Lots of custom fabrication, and probably an entire engine build would be necessary to do it safely. That's not cheap!

I have a k24 I’m planning to run a cx racing t3/t4 as a dd, running 10-14lbs of boost (300-400 Hp) I know I have to upgrade my injectors and fuel pump. Are 1000cc’s and a walbro 450 overkill ?
Nah from my understanding more fueling gives room to grow ya its overkill for your power goal right now imo and your prob going to want even bigger injectors if you wanted to run e85 and more boost but more is better to a point in this case just makes it harder to tune out cuz its finer adjustment when your using a fire hose to water the lawn use a good FPR and it should have awesome injector duty cycles and no prob that I can think of but I would always talk to the guy you plan on tuning it see what he likes to do for someone like you usually ends up saving money in the long run also buy good injectors if you can help it (disclaimer in not a tuner. . . Or even really that smart so always make decisions for yourself based on reasonable level of knowledge for what you intend to do)
MegaRomans01 I appreciate the feedback. I have the cash to get it done but I’m doing a ton of research before spending anything. I’m in no rush to do this. My mechanic (who also tunes vehicles) suggested this setup. E85 sounds good but after doing research, it doesn’t sound like something that I need. From my understanding, you go through twice the amount of fuel than regular gas although the price is cheaper. And I live in a area in Florida where there’s only one gas station locally that sells E85... hurricane season will be a bitch when their out of gas...
The burn for pump gas is 14 something to 1 for proper combustion where as e85 is I think 8 to 1 ( can't remember could be wrong) leading to extra fuel usage, but pump gas should make that power np imo. I think those motors have a balance shaft setup that runs the oil pump and anouther version just has a pump I would switch that to just the pump setup lose some rotational mass gain some hp( balance shaft only help with smoother idle) its cheap and you get a new oil pump, maybe head studs, some springs and retainers, make sure you got proper boost gapping in the rings I like running a good fluid dampener on the crank and let her fly should last awhile. . . If everything going together proper anyways lol ohh ya and make sure you got good venting out of the motor suggest making extra ports in the valve cover to run to a catch can setup

Are you planning on going E85 because if you are I hear that for a 2.0 liter 2200 CC ID injectors and a 450 walbro should be great but if you're just doing a 93 tune the Thousand CC and the walbro 450 should be just fine good luck on your build I could use some help on some things just talkin out issues if I could help you let me know
