Also for digital photographers(ie. me) 1. Expose for the background or the sky and get some triggers and a flash or two and shoot away because if the sky is exposed for and then you light the subject with your own light, they'll both be lit and your sky won't be blown out. 2.Depending on the angle of the shot, I put a reflector on the ground or let someone hold it below the model's waist and i expose for the sky(background) and the sun will reflect off of the reflector onto the model and it will expose her accordingly.
„You can’t control the Sun, you only can control yourself“ deepest realisation of today and so true for so many things if you switch out the sun with whatever noun you want.

Film definitely handles highlights better, it’s like recording music to tape instead of digital. Just adds that warmth and handles the clipping well. I think we all do the f1.4 all the time at the start too, what’s the point of a fast lens unless you’re using it all the time lol. Then you realise it’s silly
i totally agree with the aperture tip!! I just figured that out about a month or so ago that a higher Fstop will give me a sharper image and will handle balancing the light better. I also loved shooting at the lowest fstop possible. i finally got outta that mindset

Looking for some help. I usually shoot on a Canon 90D. Recently got a Nikon N70. I've never shot on film. I'll be shooting a lot outside. Lakes, hiking trails, waterfalls, etc. I bought the Kodak Gold 200 film. I've read it's best to keep settings the same for a whole role of film. Anyone have suggestions for settings? I'll be documenting dates my boyfriend and I go on so it will be some portraits and some landscape photos.

Question, you mentioned you dont like portra 160, and ive heard other people say this too. But everyone praises portra 400 and 800, why is it that 160 is so unpopular? Ive actually never shot with any portra films since they are so expensive but very much like the look of them!
160 is nice too but it really gives a different color tone
Personally I love 160's colour tone much more than 400 or 800

First of all DNG presets only work for Lightroom mobile and Adobe's new Cloud Based Lightroom (Which are incompatible with CC presets)
But the fact that you just said you bought the $50 pack and the only $50 on his site are *VIDEO* luts then what you are attempting to due is apply a LUT to a photo. LUT's are not for photos. LUT's can't be used in lightroom. LUT's are for color grading *VIDEO* footage in Adobe Premier Pro/Davinci Resolve and any video editing software that natively uses .Cube files. You really need to read what you are buying, its extremely clear in the description of the pack.
Edit: Like holy fuck there is even a video of the pack showing what it is, you can't even claim ignorance when its in your face.
