To be perfectly clear, there is not a reason on this earth or in MLB that we should trade Emerson, Celesten, Montes, Farmelo, or any 2023 international signings. Ford, Evans, and Locklear should be close to untouchable, while Young, Peete, Arroyo, Smith, Williamson, and Martinez shouldn't be just thrown in to make a deal. All of these guys should be treated like Top 100 prospects.
Deals I would make involving the guys above... SS Cole Young & Emerson Hancock to the Pirates for SP Jared Jones... SP Evans, 3B Peete, SS Arroyo, SP Morales, RP Vargas, and OF Spencer Packard for RP Mason Miller and 1B/OF Brent Rooker. These two deals give us a starter, closer, and a versatile bat that can cover both corner OF spots, 1B, DH, and maybe even some 3B.
Number one for Vlad is crazy. Inflated career stats from playing at a triple A ballpark, moving him to T-Mobile isn't a good plan; and 1B isn't even close to our biggest problem. At least with Bichette you could slide him or JP to 2B. Vlad's 1B or DH only.
What about Garver plus a prospect for Vlad to DH the rest of the year?
If the Blue Jays are trading Vlad, they'd have no need for Garver since they'd be tearing it down
Vlad is a feared cleanup hitter that would guarantee more pitches to hit for Julio. Does anyone fear Bichette?
watching this after ty france saves the day against the angels🤣
We can stop the fantasy trades right now! There is no way that John Stanton will fork over money for those contracts. Even if we did trade for them the cost to resign them would be a big "NO" from Stanton.
Bichette would play third for us, and I am fine with moving all those prospects for both of those guys
Why is it so difficult to get a decent DH hitter ?
I don’t think the blue jays take that deal it would be a steal for the mariners if they pulled that off!
Knowing the Mariners they'll trade for Walker, Gurriel, and Sewald. I think they can get those guys but France would probably have to included a long with Clase, and Bliss. Talking with a friend who lives in Phoenix says team would love Bliss back
To get those 2...its gonna take Montez, Ford, Young, Hancock, and Farmelo. With this package we could also get a reliever such as Swanson. Id love to get Jansen aswell but then they have to give up Clase and prob a minor prodpect like Packard. Thats what its gonna take. Id do it but the farm will take a major hit. Keeping Emerson, celestien, Peete, and Evans still gives them a decent set of prospects
Harry ford and locklear is an overpay for vlad. Replace locklear with like France (trade salary) and some guy like clase or Hancock
Not someone this is going to help the M's right now, but there's a kid in the KBO (Kim Do Yeong, or Americanized as Do Yeong Kim) who is absolutely raking. .314/.363/.504 since the start of 2023 (564 AB, 21 HR, 28 2B, 44 SB). Plays decent 3B, but probably profiles as a 2B due to his arm strength. Oh yeah, the kid is just 20 years old. If he were putting up those kind of numbers in AA ball (the closest skill equivalent to KBO), he's probably a top 100 prospect. He's been playing at the highest KBO level since he was just 18. He's the first KBO player to ever hit 10 home runs and steal 10 bases in a month. Not even Lee Jung Hoo (Jung Hoo Lee) was ever able to come close to that. It cost Art Moron 20 mil to bring in Ohtani as a minor league FA, what would it cost to buy out this kid's contract? 5 mil? 7? That's a lot less than what a team would have to pay in slot value for a top 10 draft pick that should perform similarly
Bring back Paul Sewald in a trade with the Diamondbacks? More bullpen pitching depth!
I’d rather put Ty France at DH vs righties and Mitch Garver vs vefties
I would take either Bichette or Guerrero because they would both be upgrades. We could move Crawford to 2B and keep Bichette at SS. We need to make a push this season while we have the young good pitching.
It’s simple. I see Harry ford in a trade, I say no.
I agree
I think Mark Canha is a very underrated trade target that will not require a top 15 prospect. I think corner OF and middle IF is our biggest needs. I don't that Vladdy fits what we need for us. His defense is quite cloudy outside of 1st and I don't think France is that bad there. Another idea is trading Haniger and a prospect to the Mets for Starting Marte.
We need to stop with the "we can't acquire this guy because so and so is already playing that position for the Mariners." This offense is horrendous. Everyone is replaceable other than Julio and probably Cal. 1B, 2B, 3B, LF, RF, DH and the bench have all been terrible.
Disagree 1st and third have been decent
I personally think a big catalyst is the disappearance of Julio; if he were to start batting to his capabilities it would start allowing some of those base runners to actually make it home instead of looking at another strikeout
@@zacharyduncan6118 agreed. Isn't it concerning tho that we expect Julio to carry the entire offense?
@KevinKirby-il1li decent is still replaceable, especially when we can shift those players to other positions are aren't adding value.
The only person that needs to be replaced is julio! He needs to get moved before he gets ruined like an Ackley, kelenic or the dozens of other "prospects" to ship the bed in that franchise. Mariners need to do themselves, baseball fans and julio/julio rookie card investors a favor and trade him. That way he can join the long list of former Mariners that actually succeed when they leave.
I'd rather get C Danny Jansen and RP Yimi Garcia, maybe we could send IF Michael Arroyo, IF Luis Urias (salary offset), RP Carlos Vargas, and Seby Zavala (TOR will need a 2nd catcher). Considering Jansen and Garcia are both free agents at the end of the year and are not going ot get a qualifying offer, this allows the Blue Jays to get something back for them. Jansen like Servais is a catcher with Wisconsin roots, meaning he should fit in pretty well with our field staff. Since Cal does the bulk of catching now, it'll give Jansen time to ramp up with Garver getting the occasional start until the pitchers can get on the same page with Danny.
Id rather them get lane thomas and isaac paredes
That would make my Lane Thomas bobblehead that much cooler. 😂
Look I think we go get Bo Bichette for Polanco, Emerson Hancock, Cole Young. Trade for Elias Diaz from Colorado for Seby, clase, and samaad Taylor. We should get Nick Gordon from Miami for to dump Mitch Haniger contract and Tyler locklear, also some cash for Nick Gordon. I would say we would be looking pretty good after that.
I don't think that package comes close to getting it done. Thats probably 60% of what it takes imo.
**Trade Proposal**
Mariners receive Marcell Ozuna
Braves receive Mitch Garver, Emerson Hancock, and Colt Emerson
I feel like at this point, if they don't add anyone of any significance, the players and the fans are going to start losing faith. Even though a big part of our problem is underperforming batters, not bad batters, and there is a difference. Feel like this story ends tragically in the first or second round of playoffs. 🤔
The Blue jays have allot of in field depth but are not deep in the out field. Vlad is starting to hit but Bo looks not right at the plate. He has closed up his stance and he is late on fast balls. I would trade for David Schneider before those guys. lol
make it hap'n, cap'n
I think they both would be a very nice addition heck just one would be a very nice addition the issue is to getting anyone of them our owner would have to sale the team because he's to dam cheap to bring in either player he's very happy to be average because average fills his pockets and that is what is wrong with the M's we will never be a contender until we get rid of this owner
you can put Bichette at DH for goodness sakes
Bo bichette would make sense in LF also
Gotta be Harry ford if that’s the case.
Oh and Vlad won a gold glove last year.
I wouldn't take Bichette at all right now he's struggling and expensive, plus neither JP or Bo are going to want to move off SS. JP will feel it's his right as the quasi-Captain of the team to stay there and Bichette isn't going to want to move off SS right before he hits free agency. Guerrero is artificially inflating his numbers with an unsustainable BABIP (.350), which is .50 points higher than it normally has been in the past. If you adjust his numbers down, he's roughly a .250/.330/.380 hitting first baseman with no baserunning ability, and negative defensive value. Which makes him Ty France, only x3 more expensive and not best friends with JP. If we're going to upset the clubhouse, it has to be for a real difference maker. Not struggling ex-stud 1B like Guerrero Jr., Yandy, or Alonso. It needs to be someone who is HAVING success, not someone who HAD success in the past. I still think that Brent Rooker and Mitch Garver splitting time at 1B and DH would be a better solution than any of the other traditional 1Bs. It's worth reiterating that Rooker did play over 50 games in one season at college at 1B, as well as parts of one or two seasons in the minors. He's not totally unaware of how to play the position.
Batting can improve but Seattle really needs pitching in rotation and bullpen..
In rotation? How lol bullpen I agree with but starting pitching has not been the problem this year.
@@zacharyduncan6118 inconsistent
27th in offense and you think more pitching is the answer? Lol
@@BMoney77 bullpen struggles
If they want to make a WS this year they need Vladdy.
Lmao absolutely not
Literally nobody in this farm system should be untouchable. We are always so concerned about “being good in the future” when we aren’t even good enough now. Winning a World Series is worth making a huge trade. We have to stop prospect hugging.
And I don’t understand what this obsession with JP Crawford is. The guy isn’t good and should definitely be considered when it comes to replaceable players. I’m really tired of him being talked about as some untouchable player. Bo Bichette is a better player than him.
The Mariners will trade for neither player though because they’re not interested in winning. So this is all moot.
Brent brown just got fired this is it if things don’t change no more scapegoats it’s gonna be all on the players no more the coach is the problem so we will see
I’d trade garver woo rojas Moore… for these two guys
The Blue Jays would say no immediately
Mariners will get neither. They don’t like high profile players. They like the nobody’s.
Yeah right. These guys cost money
Sign bo move him or jp to second or third
Bichette makes zero sense. Just vlad I'm fine with and they eat some of his contract. But, Bliss, clase, and colt stay. Otherwise I'm out.
Harry ford bryan woo
Can't include Woo if you trade Ford. More likely include Clase and Morales.
Not even close to enough
Give me Vladdy all day UNLESS they do call Locklear up and he starts bangin. Easy no to Bichette tho unless he agrees to play 3B
Trade 1 to fix the lineup METS are fire selling so , France, Garver, Urias , Ford for Alonso, Diaz the Mets give M's cash the Mets are tearing it down., Trade number 2 is very simple the A's want a controllable young arm we want a controllable bat a straight up swap Player for player Hancock for Brent Rooker, we get a new 1st baseman Alonso is our new DH Diaz replaces Brash this year win-win for everyone involved, we stop SO at a historic rate we get pop, solidify the bullpen and keep our top prospects and FINALLY REACH THE PROMISEDLAND!!!!
Why would the Mets want France, Garver and Urias if they're tearing it down?
France, Garver Urias cost less than Alonso And they still need to field a team, We don't need any of those players the crown jewel is HARRY FORD OUR NUMBER 1PROSPECT. We get to keep Laso, Colt,Lockhear our replacements in 2 years we get to the World Series. The Mets have asked for him before Win-Win the METS would jump all over this trust me.
If ownership wasn't so fn cheap we could've addressed our offense in the offseason instead of having 2 probably lose some really good prospects..... John Stanton is a POS owner who doesn't give a f*** about this team... PERIOD
