The House is acknowledged as a zoo by the rest of Congress. The theory is that people elect their best to serve, but reality is that people elect those like themselves (just like happens in hiring).

What's even more amazing is the extent that people will go to in order to defend their Party's own childish behaviors. It is incredibly harmful for the democracy of this country for a man with the political power of Rep. Schiff or Sen. Romney to accuse their political opponents who are private citizens of being terrorists on the grounds of a disagreement (Romney has called Tulsi Gabbard a "Putin-puppet"). You won't see a censure of Romney though. Not saying Schiff should not have been censured, but until we start holding childish behavior accountable, our democracy is going to implode in on itself to such an extent, we'd truthfully be better off without it.
