There were countless bait balls and schools of stripers around them. Instead of using lures and soft plastics i decided to catch stripers with live bait
Looked like a great day at the DWC. Good job getting that striper. I loved seeing the schools on your graph. I was looking into fishing like that last year, and still need to try it.
You can but I was drifting with the wind above the strike zone. The strike zone for stripers out there is 15-25’ of water and I drop my bluegills down to about 10’ you have to be out towards the backside of Washington lake and the last shipping docks
Damn that fish ate your bait with knife & fork to avoid those hooks 😂. I thought for sure you was gonna limit after seeing the size of that school on the graph. I bet a keitech would have slayed’em.
Big Shticks I know! Smart ass fish lol we did well with arigs 3 weeks ago but it was all about using live bait on this day so I didn’t bring any swimbaits with me 😢
I just got a cheap yak and started fishing with it. Let me know if you'd like someone to go out with, I'm a Texas bass guy relocated to Sac and could sure use some help with local knowledge. :-)
I feel ya! The barge canal access in West Sacramento is a great place to kayak and there are plenty of bass. I fish there often so if you see me then I’m more than willing to share what I know. Thanks for watching
Gonna try this next week hopefully I get some keepers
GL! You should be able to get some. There were schools of them towards the last shipping dock but that’s a long ways away from the launch
@@FishingWithAlexSI got skunked💀
@@stoptalkin901 no way! I usually always find them. Did you target bass? They are biting on top water right now
@AlexSaeteurn916 no I was just going for stipers I'm probably going out there again later today and fish for a mix or bass and stipers

😆 thanks man! you have to. Tons of stripers in there right now
Wait so do you just wait for them to pass by and eat the gill?

@AlexSaeteurn916 okay thanks for the info I'll definitely try it
Can I bring my boat in there ? Or to lake Washington ?
Unless you know someone from the boat launch club there then no. There is one very very far route from arrowhead if you want to go there
better way is lift it in there right? it’s 14” myb It could be less heavy only with trolling motor
@@luisalonzo4708 14ft is kinda big. You can try but good luck bringing it back up to the car. I run out of gas going back up with just my kayak
What is the name of the kayak and does it come with rod holders?
You probably know by now since it’s a been over a year but it’s a 2019 hobie pro angler 12. Does not come with anything besides the pedal drive
Nice day out. Good job
Fishing Addict thanks
Damn, bro. That’s what’s up! 🤙🏼 been a little bit, since I last fished the delta for Striper. 😅🤦🏻♂️
Garcia_Familia_Adventures thanks brotha!
One of the few things y’all still can do there, fish! Stay safe my friend 👊🏽
Compass Angler thank you! 👊
I'm going to have to get out there too. Nice video
Thanks man. Bait balls and schoolies are everywhere. GL
Looks like you had a good day

Your videos are getting better and better, felt like i was watching something on netflix 😂 Nice catch! Keep it up!
Thanks cuzzo! I haven’t been fishing at all. 5 long months 😂
Same here. Havent fish for almost a year. I need to start fishing soon. I need a setup like your's haha
@@eye8pho29 you’re asking for a little too much 😂
@@FishingWithAlexS lol that baller setup haha

I love DWC. Nice catched. I wonder how the the first fish took your bluegirl without hooking. lol

The first bite, that fish ate your bluegill with a fork. 🤣🤣🤣
Damn this comment got me 💀 🤣
Using minnows to catch largemouth bass is such a rush...fish on!!!
Oh yea! That too

@@FishingWithAlexS Thank you so much. I was just wondering about your line setup, keep up the content 🙏 tight lines
Nice stuff! How deep did you drop the blue gills?
Thank you! I dropped them 20’ and fished around 35’ deep
Nice catch
Thanks man!
Sweet video! Are you dragging your weight on bottom while drifting?
Thank you! I drifted between 35-40 ft and dropped the bait down just 20ft
Top de mais amigo tmj forte abraço 👏🤝👍
was this yesterday ?
LOCC CODEE Saturday morning so it was actually 7/25/20. I finished editing the video at 1am 7/26 😆 messed up on the date
The problem is I can't seem to catch bluegill 😂🤣
MooMoo Outdoors I know! You can only catch big fish 😂
@@FishingWithAlexS oh I wish this was true
Nice video! Your yak still has salt all over it!?!? 🤦🏻♂️
🤣 yea but I rinsed everything else. Only the inside itself is salty

Something’s better than nothing.
