I'm glad to hear you confirm what depression can do. In the past six months, while trying to find help, I keep being told that the things I have, bipolars, severe anxiety and insomnia, ptst, ocd, are not real illnesses. I keep having my heart broken being told I'm fine, when I have doctor's who are telling me you are not fine, you need special care in certain circumstances, it's people like you who give me hope, it's hard enough dealing with what I'm dealing with, but to have the world around me look at me and say but you look fine, it's breaking my heart each time I hear it. I cry out for help because I don't want to be a statistic, but it's amazing how many people just throw you and what your telling them away. It's been a hard 30 years, an even harder 6 months now that as an adult I'm trying to find help on my own and feel like I need someone to hold my hand, I just have to keep hoping I'll get it.
Jill Seufert my love, you have a beautiful and strong soul you have courage and I am SURE you are going to get out of this make you life and others life a better place. Remember nothing is impossible and you are here for a reason just try and try to be happy until you feel like happiness is your comfort zone. I believe in you and I know you will make it out and be so fulfilled that everyone will envy you and your personality. Take care. And I love you sis.

What a lovely, giving soul the hairdresser has! She's a shining light in our dark world.
I bet her parents are so proud. They raised a decent , loving person.
I’m dealing with this with my 12year old daughter right now. She told me to just shave it. I refused and now I’m working to comb out the Matt’s and save her long hair.
As a kid that's hair is about to this extreme and my own depression is getting awful this is some advice that I really hope u take bc I've been wishing for someone to do this for years. If u get her a therapist please dont ever make her feel like it's a chore bringing her there, dont talk about gas money or how ur tired of driving there bc ir will make her not want to go any more and feel even more like a burden. If she has a breakdown and screams at u please dont yell back, usually its from holding in emotions for days and something as simple as spilling a drink will trigger it. And finally please give them their space but when they leave their room or want to be around family again be kind and act as nothing happened. Also if they are staying in their room for days find something they like (fav chips, ect) and give it to them, it shows u love then and think about them and want her to know shes not alons

Yep depression can do this. I would go days without brushing my hair brushing my teeth and bathing its rough. No one ever talks about this side of depression
I go thru the exact same thing but have a couple of good weeks inbetween.
Is it depression or lazyness
This is depression. You don't even care about your hygiene anymore, it's not important. It takes a lot of energy, which you don't even have sometimes. Depression is different depending on the person. People experiment different kind of symptoms and feelings. Please don't say they're being lazy, you're not in their body. I've been depressed for over 12 years, I'm a student, about to graduate and become a teacher, so I don't think I'm lazy :)
Very true. U get so overwhelmed and have no energy to function. And this shows how bad u really feel, because no way would u do that if u felt better. I almost never went a day in my whole life without a shower until i got very sick with a tumor and I am also very depressed. It is a terrible feeling and a horrible way to live. God bless all of us
@@MisterKzzt Unfortunately, that can happen. The same way you stop feeding yourself. Those are basics needs, but your brain is clearly not in the mood to do that. Sometimes you simply forget, it feels unimportant. It's very sad.

But this woman. Chose to fix her hair. What a kind lady. BE MY FRIEND PLEASE
You don't really realize what you're doing to yourself until much later. I never gave it any thought until it was over. I had destroyed myself slowly over time. Too afraid to ask anyone for help. Help that I desperately needed. I needed someone. I let my hair grow and become messy. I darkened my curtains and blocked out the light. I spent less time around friends. I punched my head in frustration until I had large bumps. I screamed on the inside because I was too afraid to shout out loudly because I didn't think anyone would understand and help me. Depression is an awful thing that I wish we didn't have to suffer, but i suppose to be rid of it would mean to get rid of some of the more positive emotions we also can feel when life isn't total hell. I hope everyone who is currently drowning in the darkness finds their way and finds the light once again.

This is so true...
I'm a doctor, I specialised in paediatrics. Going through these comments, the main issue here is the fact that most of these kids are seen by counsellors. Not a psychiatrist specialized in child or adolescent care. If the counselor is trained at picking up signs of depression in adults and is now seeing adolescents, they are not trained enough. No offense.
Children are not miniature adults and adolescents are not all attention seekers.
There are kids who fake an illness, to not do school work or house chores but even that is a sign of an underlying conflict. It's not depression but they do deserve to be heard and loved.
Adolescents and young adults suffering from depression should understand one thing.
It IS A DISEASE. There might have been a trigger, a few stressors, but now it's a disease, just like heart disease or diabetes. It won't "go away".
People keep asking for the cause.
Cause was relevant only in the beginning. Now it's a disease and it needs treatment.
Treatment isn't "seeing a counsellor" if it's severe enough to cause distress and suicidal thoughts.
It needs to be treated with medicines.
There are safe and effective medicines. This isn't 80s. We don't lock people up or give horrible drugs to keep you "dull and zombified".
You actually get cured, or at least reduce the problems to an extent where you can enjoy the little things in life again.
If your child has depression, go see a doctor.
Get a proper diagnosis.
Make sure if medicines needed or not.
If it's manageable with counseling, the doctor will guide you to a psychologist or the specific type of counseling needed.
Please do not hesitate.
Protect your child's mind NOW just like the way you protected his/her head from a fall when they were kids.
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!

Some heroes don't wear capes. They put a salon cape on the ones they rescue.

What a lovely girl helping this young vulnerable teen and make her feel good again about herself is heart warming.
She is an angel.
Imagine if everyone on this planet had the compassion that this hairdresser has!
The world would be a better place and no one would have to worry about running into cruel people. If only it was like that in real life........ 😔
That's what John Lennon was trying to say but sadly, the people who call for peace are usually ones with agendas and not genuine love for humanity and thus, our society today.
There will be lesser and lesser of such good people that even a simple task as picking up a banana peel and putting it in the trash can will be received with such applause like it was an extraordinary thing to do.
God will come to stay here
Bless this lovely lady she is a true angel
k Dickens lol
Momp
I got my cry for the night 😭 what an amazing human being this hair stylist is! Makes my heart warm and fuzzy and I pray for the young teen as well as the hairstylist! Here's to brighter more joyful days ahead for u ladies!♡
Kindness is alive. So much more than apathy. This made my day.
Thank you.
That woman is an angel.
I suffer from chronic depression. The worst thing about it is when people use it to move ahead of you instead of helping you.
It becomes worse when they actually know something about you and depression. They start to irritate you, bit by bit, to the extend of making you go berserk. ..and aha, when you do THAT, everything that you've strived for will fall apart.
Steve Thorn I go through the same thing, stay strong though Steve! We love you.
Steve Thorn That's a demon you need deliverance
Very true!! That's truly relatable.
I know I remember back in 6th grade one of my friends made up this story about how she talked me through it and she ended up getting so much praise and she only did that to get attention and that’s what I realy don’t understand about people these days and how the think so obliviously
The hair stylist is so soft hearted and kind person...our world need kindness....... Love from uk.
Once my hair was at this point and my 21 year old older sister took like 6 hours to untangle my hair in a bathtub and some conditioner! I was not depressed it was just quarantine and I had not brushed my hair in months and and had a bun in my hair for months!!!! My sister is very kind and I love her with all my heart!
Awww stylist has an amazing heart 💖God bless her.
She’s so kind!
And I cry when I get home from the hair dresser when the style is just remotely different from how I expected...
Ravioli Ravioli, give me a reason to live that's totally normal

Mine is different than I expected, it was better! But then the next day it is back to a weird state. Man, those hair dressers are magical
I have fought depression and understand what she was feeling, but it's great that you did this for her ,you are a wonderful person to have helped her ,may you always shine as as the Angel you are
She's NOT The Only One! I Get Like This Also When I'm Severely Depressed! It Is A Horrible Illness Depression And Anxiety!!!

Romie M. agreed
I'm Deformed Exactly Right..
Alice Sebastain right
GALAXY GAMING: The best helpers are those who don't brag about it. So I like to think a lot of people are inspired by this video--and are helping...without reporting back to us here.
God bless you. You may have saved her life and changed her family and friends life. It's like a ripple in a pond.
God isn’t real
Biased bet you feel special for that. 🙄

Thank you for this programme.
What a lovely young lady, the empathy she felt for her client was remarkable, and I’m sure she helped with her self esteem 👏
Depression sucks at any age...I'm 59, and know first hand what depression is like...giving up on friends, family, and my business...what a wonderful thing she did for that girl..we all need something or someone in our life
Type 99 Why? Are u going to tell me u care or life gets better, or don't give up...
Type 99 I've heard all of the words of wisdom...some of us are just wired differently...some of us are just biding our time...
My Opinion yeah. The thing is sometimes life doesn't get as good as you want it to. It might get better and it might not, that's the gamble of life. Good luck my friend and i hope ur situation improves
sgt.pepper lonelyhearts Recently I heard someone say "have no expectations"💝The more you expect, the more disappointed you are if it doesn't happen💝💝💝
My Opinion hello
My Name is Sarah. Im from germany. But if you need someone to talk i would take time for you. Greetings
From the back of that photo looks like the hairstylist
Cari Walker yeah! I was confused at first lol
Yea!
This whole thing is fake
None of it adds up
Cari Walker ya right..i thought the same 😁
Been there, done that! It is hard to pull yourself out of that deep of a depression! It's great to see people who care enough to help! Not everyone does.
I'm so touched by her empathy and care for this poor, depressed girl.
🥲❤️ Bravo!! 👏👏👏✨️✨️ We need more people like this in the world ❤️
Please everyone just remember: Noone can tell you that you're 'not sad enough' to get a little attention.
Whenever you feel the need to talk about something, do it.
Louder for the people in the back!! This comment section is filled with "this is what REAL depression looks like" etc etc, but no hun. Just because someone has it worse than you doesn't make your problems and the way you feel invalid.
True
I have tried to tell people and ask to talk to them but then they say I want attention..
What? I CAN .... "Youre just Not SAD enough to get attention....sorry.....put a little more effort into it....a little more gusto". SEE?....I just did. Thank You.
THIS!!!!!! People need to sit down and stop gaslighting people with depression. I'm in my 30s and people have done this to me since my teens, is why I couldn't admit I had depression for so long & was ashamed. Remember you are loved & supported!
When I was an ICU nurse, I had an elderly lady that had been neglected by family and her hair was matted like a football helmet. She also told me to shave it. It took me over 4 hours to comb the knots out. I then washed it and gave her a trim. She felt like a new woman.
Bad Ash Did you do it after your shift? Or was the ICU empty except her? How did you possibly find 4 hours to come one woman's hair in an Intensive Care Unit? Let alone cut it for her.. Didn't you have other patients/rounds to make? I'm not trying to be rude, but that's really remarkable that you even found the time to do that.. ICU patients are very fragile and require 24/7 monitoring and care, not to mention how understaffed and busy most hospitals are in general.. Bless your heart for being so devoted to your patients.
Princess Sparkle Pixie since the patients in ICU are high acuity, the normal assignment is 2 patients. It was a night shift and my other patient was decently stable. Also helpful when you have good coworkers :)
That's sweet!
Bad Ash more like Great Ash
That one friend that genuinely enjoys Rick Astley i hope YOU rot in hell
I love this woman. I love her for feeling emotional and putting all the effort to do that for her.
