• DCS GAZELL / February ...
===================================
That's fun, that's the way it should be, and the Gazelle behaves like a Formula One car in the air.
There are many different opinions about the flight model, and we may argue about how realistic it is, or not.
But the main question is how can I fly this thing in DCS. And have fun with it. - Hry
Another excellent video and easy to follow your instructions. Many thanks for this great tutorial.
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, the video is still actual and we all waiting for the new Gazelle flight model. But the KIOWA comes first, so it will take 1 or two years more. 🥲
Thank you, very nice.
Many thanks for this.
A buddy at the Black Shark Den pointed me to this tutorial, thank you for the help, worked great for me.
Thanks.
thanks
What about rudder (I know in helicopters it controlls the tail rotor's blade pitch), do you change curvature and saturation of this axis too? Any changes in collective axis? You fly perfectly well, I've never seen more experienced DCS Gazelle pilot. I bought the module a week ago and today I had my first succesful landing on the Dubai Hotel's helipad on Persian Gulf map :) .
Great video informative, explained, demonstrated extremely well. I have followed your suggestions my Joystick has been set to 40 % Saturation Y axis and it has improved my flying, and more importantly my landings by over 50 percent. I subscribed to your channel. you should have far more views, but It'll happen as you continue to put out Outstanding tutorials . By far the Best tutorial on the Gazzelle on CZcams . period ! thanks again.
Many thanks for your feedback. Unfortunate CZcams's algorithms prefer sensation over information so it is hard to get over the 1000 subscriber border. But we working on it.
Good video. Thanks! Look forward to trying this out tonight.
Thank you!
Thank you for a very informative video!! When you said the aircraft decides where we go next and how you were fooling yourself into thinking you were in control is so spot on for this plane. I made some adjustments to my controls too, and it helped out quite a bit. I dampened the Y axis both pitch and roll, and then set a curve in it of about 22 or so? It actually helped. I will try your suggested set up and let you know how it goes! ~Rob
Thanks for this! I'm fine with the Huey but this was like a bucking bronco. I'll have to give this a try.
I have and use the VKB Gunfighter 2, MCG Pro Grip stick. It is desk mounted without any extension (.. yet !).
I don't have any curves but on the Roll Axis I have adjusted the "Y" Saturation to 75%.
Everything else feels good and appears realistic after watching an Actual Real Life British Squadron in Training in a CZcams Video Series called "FLYING SOLDIERS".

As can be seen in the aforementioned videos {especially Episode 3 starting around 9:05 minutes}, the actual stick movement in the real cockpit is minimal. I estimate a total deflection front to back or left right of "maybe" 3 inches, and I think that is being generous. Chances are its full range of motion is 2 inches at the very most (i.e. 1 inch in any direction from center/neutral position).
Most of my flight is controlled with Trim and then very slight inputs of the cyclic stick (unless I'm hotdogging ~!).
I should say that I also use the Warthog Throttle with the throttle handle's Axis Reversed so that rather than pushing the throttle forward to increase thrust (as you would in any conventional airplane), my throttle starts in Full Forward position and I Pull it back (like lifting a collective) towards me for Collective. I've seen others do it in Jet Mode and it makes no sense to me and limits Realism and Immersion !
I also have the CH Pro Flight Rudder Pedals (very inexpensive) with a slight curve (10 or 15 ? I can't remember which) and a Center Detente DEADZONE of 3 which seems to work beautifully with the Gazelle and the Huey.
If anyone has any questions or wants any help with the Gazelle, please PM me in ED Forums where I am "SnowTiger".
We can connect on any server and get you sorted out and having fun in minimal time.
Great to hear about your on and all the other different experiences.
For my technical understanding, there is no apparent reason for so much diversity. All the different controls are working with the same technological principles. But most importantly, for everyone able to fly other helicopter modules in DCS is there a way to challenge the Gazelle as well.
An easy 'Thumb Up' for you... I am learning about this a/c and this is great tutorial - many thanks - impressive. As a Warthog owner, I am wondering if your recommendations will work with my HOTAS system and what physical controllers you are using?
I personally use helicopter controls from oe-xam-simulators.blogspot.com/, but there are many others out there.
2 Polychop Mitarbeiter haben das gedisliked.
Vielen Dank :)
Wer hilft hat recht : ) War sicher nur ein Bug beim liken ; )
