Shes trained in opera singing i believe which is also why shes very good at bringing the emotions and her voice is so gentke and smooth even as it progresses... i love her voice. Her voice is haunting. This song is so relatable to many for many different reasons. Loss of a loved one by death or just the death of a relationship. When she sings, "But though you're still with me, I've been alone all the long" implies a relationship where one person is still holding on while the other is half way out the door.
Knowing the story behind the song makes it really hit home.

It seems like Amy Lee wrote it for me. 20 years later, I still love my X like the first time I saw her and felt like I was struck by lightning. This song still makes me cry over my failed marriage to the woman who will always be the love of my life.
@NathanBrownMusic Not sure if anyone told you or not, but this song was part of the Fallen album. This particular song she reflects on the loss of her two younger siblings, one of which died to cancer after a really long, drawn out battle.
