Jeremy, I live in the North Georgia Mountains and in a small town that is the location of the first gold rush in America! We have a3 gold mines, one is still open….and a gold museum that has gold found in the mountains around here! Come here and they can teach use to pan for gold.

You need a small sluice box. You shovel in the dirt, gravel, remove the large stones and let the water take care of the rest.

Look for rocks with cracks in them. Gold will enter the cracks.

I use to pan gold in California and you have to swirl the sand around in water till the silt and sand has washed out the gold will sink into the grooves
Need to make a 2 hour video where you can search the whole lake you might hit the gold mine man
Nice little nugget Jeremy. Notice how the color is flat, not shiney. That's what you want. Pyrite is shiney and that's how you can tell the difference between the two.
If you swirl your pan, the gold will "walk" up toward the top of the pan.

Get a small sluice box Jeremy. Run it and then pan what stays in the sluice.
Jermery, I have metal detector too, you CAN extend the shaft to it. Also, you use the pans to shift the sand thru the slots but use lots of water, the gold will stay in the slots, even the gold dust. The gold dust will add up too. I totally enjoyed watching you last nite. I wish I was there to help you, for FREE, lol.

I use to see someone with a sluice box in the Clear Fork, Cedar Fork and Mohican near Bellville. Especially after major storm runoffs.
What you should look for is black sand, that is a tell tail sign for gold. Use the large ripples to get rid of the larger rocks, then use the smaller to classify. Have fun

Take the big rocks out. The more water the better. Go in a circle kinda and let the rocks fall out until you get the the last bits. Use a eye dropper to suck up the bits. Put it into a medicine bottle

It’s fun to look and exciting to think you might actually find something.
My dad had a cold mining claim and he would take his vacations and go up there and gold mine with his dad my grandfather and my brother every summer on his vacation for 20 years and God bless his soul when he passed and my mother passed we got to split his gold between the three children it is something that I will treasure for the rest of my life it was a lot of gold. And he would get Gold Fever every year when he started gold mining and I can see the Gold Fever in everybody's eyes right now LOL. I'm so happy for you guys I think you are starting a new venture in your life's right now unfortunately you'll have to get permits and go through everything to start gold mining on your property I think it's better just to do what you're doing and not tear up everything. Leave it the way it is and just get the big ones the way you're doing it you'll enjoy your life a lot better and not tear up your property. Congratulations on finding gold!!
