- This week we go metal detecting at a house built along an old stagecoach route. The house itself is not crazy old, built around 1910 or so, but the road goes back hundreds of years and was an original route that helped get from Philadelphia to the Atlantic. We were anticipating finding Victorian era and early 1900's coins and artifacts, but the first find of the day was so cool it took our breath away!

Grown men and women acting like kids. I love it! Makes my day watching good fun people enjoying the outdoors. Keep up the great lighthearted, and informative videos.
The thing sticking out the back of the VW is a zoomie exhaust. Always glad to see Lynn tag along, love her smile.
It's a exhaust header on the bug.🤣
Towing a little trailer with a VW bug got us in a bad accident back in 1971 - the trailer tried to follow in the wake of a passing semi and took the bug with it across 4 lanes of interstate. Nobody badly hurt, but I don't recommend it!
Wow! Some "crazy" things happened to me and they just let me know it ain't my time - yet!
Quarter hoarder joking on dog tag Doug 🤣
Love your guys sense of humor.
Great finds guy's!! Keep up the good work 👏🧡
Ziploc bags didn't come out until early 70s helping to date when the ring was hidden away
The trailer hitch on the bug is actually an exhaust pipe typically called a Stinger style from what I remember. Nice finds guys!
The vw bug was probably a Baja model
with the turned up exhaust and extended axles popular in the 60sinto the 70s.
We called them megaphones.
@@warrenhfrye5218 Baja bugs are still very popular in some areas. The Baja 1000 still runs every year down to La Paz, Mexico bcs
I was laughing so damn hard when Jason started bing boing boom'n the bugs!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another great hunt. The 14k gold ring was an incredible find and was in very good shape. A lot of coins and the buttons were cool too. Thanks for sharing!!
That was so nice of that homeowner to bring out coffee for you guys. One of the best things about metal detecting is sometimes you run into the nicest people. On a hot day they will bring a water bottle, and one lady fixed a lunch for me. I meet my best friend metal detecting. I was detecting a front yard when maybe five kids gathered around and one said "there's my dad, I have to go home" She was about six years old. I said, as him if I can detect your yard. She came back ten minutes later and told me her dad said yes. Well I went over about a half hour later and started detecting the yard. It was hot and the homeowner came out with a cold bottle of Modelo Beer. An hour later he brought another beer. I got one silver, a mercury dime. That was about ten years ago and today he is my best friend. I am uncle Harry to his three little girls. I appreciate that because I'm 77 yo and I'm not grandpa 🙂. Nicest people you will ever meet.
Looks like Pink Ice in the Gold Ring Doug dug up.
Nice
Great Find Doug !!!!!!!!
Great to see Lynn back at it.
Doug, I hope you were able to keep the gold ring. You worked for it- you deserve it!
“Pink Ice” was a popular stone in the early 90s EVERY girl had to have a ring!!! I got one for Christmas! Congratulations DTD! ♥️
I put a ring in the ground like that once. When my first boyfriend broke up with me. That was my way of putting the memories to rest. Could be a sweet heart ring.
Yes. My guess too is that someone buried the ring after a breakup.
Jane Fondoug.....what a find, dude!! Gold in a box!!
Sorry I've been missing from the comments. I was moving but I've still been watching.
Doug with the hat trick! Gold, silver & the Indian
Some teenager was heart broken and buried their break up.
You're probably right
My first thought also
That ring could be pink topaz, even pink saphires or even tourmaline
Very nice video great content thank you for sharing five stars my friends
Hello from AZ🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵
Nice ring Dig Doug!
There was a note in the box to go along with the contents...looks like the note kind of melted away...VERY nice first find!!
It's the exhaust on the VW! Great, fun day!
Oh, what a pretty ring!! Cool Doug!!
Congratulations Doug on the gold ring !
Chasing the flies off that tree was hilarious 😂
Doug killed it with Gold and Silver, way to go!!! ( ;
😄 Doug with Rich locked in the basement. Love all the fun you guys have.
Enjoyed the video! Love the ring Doug!! See you and Doug in a couple of days at Kadoha!!!
Rich came out of the gate strong with the '09 wheatie, but my young friend DTD (I'm 4 years older than Doug), took the day again with the Indian head, '50 Roosevelt, Military button and 14k ring. NICE! As always, good show guys.
Nice ring, I think Pink Sapphire. Happy Hunting! 🙂
Finding things like that is so cool... I wonder if they forgot about it or put it there thinking it would be buried forever. My mind always wonders... what we all know for sure is.. it meant a lot to someone at some point.. now it means a quite a bit to Doug I bet. Beautiful ring!~
I just recently got into detecting and love your channel man. nice to run into you on someone elses channel. Hi from South Africa.
the gemstone could be one of the followingStar Ruby, Rhodonite, Rubellite, Pink Tourmaline, Pink Opal, Pink Fluorite, Kunzite, Morganite, Star Garnet, and Pink Spinel.
My guess it is an October birthstone ring, and the stone for October is Tourmaline. After the dream digs you have been doing, today was more like, but still better than, my days.
I think so, too😊
I thought October was opal..
My dad hooked a U-Haul trailer to the back of his VW bug when he and my mom moved from New Orleans to Atlanta in the early '60's. 😛
Doug's ring could be "Pink Ice" (a man-made pink cubic zircon popular in the 1980s) but since the band is 14KYG it could also be pink sapphire or pink tourmaline. Nice find! Jason, was your little cuff flat button tombac?
A velvet soap dish? LOL You guys crack me up.
Busted out laughing at the Gilligan's Island reference to Doug's find!
gesss, i have a hard time getting people to grant permission to detect on their property, mainly because most people around here have no clue what metal detecting is, and here you guys are, a gang of detectorists, and to top it off, the homeowner's beings you guys coffee lmaooooooo God Bless America! haha
those stones look like pink ice my mother n law just loved pink ice and thats what that looks like very cool find God bless you and your family my friend
Oh, I never miss a show you’re a great group!!! Peace
One of your funniest running commentary videos Jason, just bouncing off your A Team. Thanks for the smiles!
Mary Ann all the way. I love Dawn Wells
Burying treasure was a part of the American mindset up until perhaps the 1970's or so. There were the old school folk who didn't trust banks and the Baby Boomers who were brought up with pirate treasure stories. As a child, I buried lots of small treasures. Once it was a jar of coins (including silver). I never attempted to retrieve it. As a kid, I figured some day I'd dig it back up. Never thought about changed ownership of land. Our children admitted they buried many of their toys. When U.S. large cents became obsolete, many became kid toys and got buried in the yard as "secret treasures." Good video.
As a geologist, not seeing the ring in person, my suggestion is that the pink stones set in the gold ring are tourmaline.
Pink Tourmaline! And I believe the chain is silver because it's not rusted.
Great finds.
I think he's right the button probably had a piece of mother of pearl inlaid. I think the life ring had a measuring tape in it to measure the fish you caught. Garter clip hmmm I thought they were suspender clips I trust Lynn on that call.
Cool ring Doug...Nice finds all around...Congrats to all you guys...👍
Nice job scrubimg any detail away grinding in grit with your thumb.
I learned about the rarity of the 1909S VDB penny 50+ years ago when I was about 5 years old. I got the old blue penny books with a few pennies in each one from my Grampa and I looked at all the numbers and studied them carefully, even memorizing some of them. So most of my life I've known about this elusive 1909S VDB penny and never imagined I would ever have one, much less, dig one out of the ground. Well, shortly after I got my detector, an AT Pro, about a year ago, I found one at a permission right here in my home town! It's not in the best condition, but if the light is right and the angle is right you can definitely see that I have found that elusive penny! My estimated value is about $400. I'll never sell it though... But I've got bragging rights!
Awesome finds guys, congrats !
Tourmaline, Topaz, pink ice, and sapphire is the most common pink stones. I want it 😊
Depending on the age it is probably Pink Safire which is very rare now a days and some people don’t even realize it exists.
On the vw bug that thing sticking out the back is a Empi exhaust pipe.
Nice hunt Guys Congrats to ALL. 👊
hello Friends , great finds ✌️ , thank You for sharing this great video 👏 My Best regards from Monterrey México....saludos amigos

Doug and I both 1950. I got a real looking notice from what looked like your web site stating I won a metal detector. I think it was bs. Someone using your logo to try and get me to click on a link. Just letting you know
General Service button indeed. Looks just like the buttons on my dress greens from 1987.
Amazing episode fellas 😁 me and my sons enjoy your adventures and the awesome history you all save!
Great video guys. cool looking relics and congrats to Doug finding the buried jewelers box with the gold ring and finding the IHP'S. Jason congrats finding the IHP, Volkswagen car,

Nice 14kt ring Doug. I think those pink stones are pink saphire rare and valuable🤯? He has more experience that's why he finds more valuable thing when metal detecting .
lmao , love the boing boing bugs
Awesome video guys!
Good finds! I wonder what the person was thinking who buried the ring on the chain! The stones look like pink tourmaline!👍👍😘😘
A love affair that didn't work out perhaps.
Stones in Doug’s ring could be amethyst? Well done. Great hunt. HH
Wow awesome 14K gold ring Doug. Great find Rich on the 1909 wheat penny. Nice silver dime Doug. Beautiful Indian head penny Doug & Jason. Love the general service button Doug.
Congrats on the finds, guys. Always love finding Indians!
Doug boat was on a roll.
Doug's ring was beautiful, I know his wife will be happy he went detecting that day!
The 1909 Lincoln cent was to commemorate 100 years since Lincoln's birth. It is the first American coin displaying a known individual.
18:27 may be a part of a hand held fan, popular in the 1920s. There would have been a shaft sticking out with folding fan blades, when you depress the pump type leaver, it spins the shaft. It has a coil clock-work type spring inside.
That ring looks like Pink Diamonds. Get them checked. If they are you hit the Jackpot.
Military button, flat buttons, some Silver and some IHP's, not to mention that buried treasure ring. This was a cool hunt guys.
No, Jason, the wheels were not meant to be pointing that way,, , but,, LMBO
Nicely done guys enjoyed it, will catch you on the next one. 🇺🇸
Great seeing you all again. Cool finds, especially Dog Tag Dougs beautiful ring ❤ Say, where's Paul? Haven't seen him in a while.
Hey Doug, great finds. But that ring outshined them all, congrats.😃
She will look great in that hat!!!!!
Your 1859 Indian rang low because they were 88% copper and 12% nickel. Great find, they don't usually hold up well.
BACK IN 1959 WHEN MY DAD WAS TRANSFERRED FROM BEUFORT AIRSTATION TO KANEOHE NAVAL BASE HAWAII, HIM, MY MOM. MY BROTHER, A DOG AND A CAT TRAVELLED IN A VW BUG TOWING A SMALL TRAILER TO CALIFORNIA THEN TAKING A SHIP TO HONOLULU
Hello Quarter Hoarder,Dog tag Doug,Rich and Lynn
That’s exhaust on that moded vw bug not a hitch 👍
They were called stingers, like a megaphone on the "bag of snakes" headers.
Definitely an exhaust pipe on that VW bug
Awesome finds gentleman. Carl
Pink stone is Pink Tourmaline a common birthstone for the month of October
the split rear window bugs (real ones) where offered from 1939 until 1952 :)
Nice mixture of goodies… Doug had a great day I’d say
That 1859 indian penny was nice! Doug found the. Urged treasure! Looks like tourmaline stones which is the October birthstones. Very nice!
Tourmaline stones could be what is on the gold ring...I feel the gold ring is very unlikely to have fake stones...
