- Lalo Schifrin's score for Bruce Geller's 1973 pickpocket epic ''Harry in your Pocket''. Starring uber-cool James Coburn, Michael Sarrazin and Trish Van Devere. For reviewing purposes only.

One of the best films of the 1970's with one of the great music scores of its time. It's a shame that most people don't even know that this flick was even made.
I agree. It's a cute and bittersweet movie, with great actors - and an absolutely amazing jazzy and rich Schifrin score! I was dying to get hold of it somehow until finally the album was released (I guess ten or fifteen years ago).
Maybe I’m just an old fart but it seems like the music scores of the 60s and 70s were much better than the work of today
👍👍👍👍👍👍🙂
You might just be an old fart, but doesn't mean you're wrong :P
God, those 1970s were so great back then.
@@travelfan9701 👍
This movie has a lovely 70s vibe.
Have you seen the whole thing?
Love all Michael's films,a great actor sadly unappreciated.Miss you babe.RIP.
Just dropping by again to watch these trailers.Superb edits.Still holds up after all those years.Tremendous skills
One of my favourite films! A wonderful score by Lalo Schifrin with more than a hint of Nelson Riddle!
They could never make this film as it was made now.
a fantastic movie,,even though you should hate these guys,,you end up not wanting them to get caught :P
what a fantastic score. beautiful, mood perfect, swing, groove, masterful. I know his music well but its great to be reminded with this great combination of movie. Coburn, and locational style. thanks.
Great background music. so easy. Back to the seventies....😃
Greetings from holland.
Simply too good sir.Fantastic job in capturing the atmosphere of this movie in your edit.Sublime stuff.
thanks bud, always cool to hear from you. Eagerly awaiting yer next vid
This is one of the coolest film sequences of all time.
James Coburn is the coolest cat ever......
Bruce Gellor of Mission Impossible fame produced this ergo the splendid Brazilian music of Lalo!
a Great film! and a great memorable score!
saw this film with dad as a 12 yr old. wanted to be a pickpocket like Coburn and Sarrazin!
A true classic.
No doubt that Casey is a wealth of information.
HOT PANTS at 1:50. just like we wore!! Loved them.
Saw this film as a kid at our small town theater that in summer showed double feature matinees for the price of 2 cans of food. Saw some good films: The Brass Bottle, The Other, Legend of Hell House, Jack the Giant Killer, & Run Wild, Run Free, to name a few.Great daycare for my parents, & along w/some other kids had most of the theater to ourselves. Since burned down, which is sad: it was one of the old style theaters where a red velvet curtain opened before each movie. Those were the days.
I can't watch this too many times
Like sipping vermouth on the rocks at a swimming pool on a hot day.
again class stuff....gets better everytime..and any film with coburn in it is bloody good.genius stuff...
How the HELL did I miss this. Zero give me a shout now and again !! And how comes your suff looks so great? Amazing. I saw Lalo live. Got cheap seats near one of the 5 Double bass players. Lalo had his back to the audience conducting but was facing me and the orchestra !!!!!!!
The footage has a few establishing shots of Seattle (a Seattle bus, the downtown monorail, an iconic Seattle building in the Pioneer Square district, etc), interspersed mostly with shots on the streets of Victoria, British Columbia. These include Bastion Square, Trounce Alley, the BC Legislature Building, and other Victoria locations. The aerial "Seattle" ferry shot is actually a BC Ferry - the name "Queen of Victoria" is clearly legible on the side near the bow.
really opens up on repeated viewing, so much I missed first time I watched, tho i was a little rushed! different music styles for each mode of transport, superb! Gotta try them split screens!
More gr8 films from 1973 American Grafitti, Badlands, Papillon, the Getaway, Serpico, walking tall. electra glide in blue, emperor of the north, last detail, long goodbye, cinderella liberty, mean streets, paper moon, paper chase, Pat Garrett and billy the Kid, Seven ups, Soylent Green, thief who came to dinner and white lightning!
@scottmanduzy Yep! And, I have seen all those movies you mentioned. Some great flicks put out in the 70's and 1973 was a very good year :)
again genius editing, scene selection the score the pace...lov it ..five coburns for ye sir,or thumbs up now
MAD FLAVOR SENT ME
I first saw this movie right around the time I read Oliver Twist, so the whole technique of pickpocketing fascinated me soon after. The cynical side of me wondered how anyone could not feel something be taken from their pocket. Then one day at school, the nurse (who was both pretty and had a rep for being mischievous) lifted the wallet of a male teacher - playfully, a sly grin on her face, with several of us in class witnessing it but not saying anything at first. When he didn't notice right away, the nurse asked if he could spot her a few dollars for lunch. Reaching for his wallet and realizing it wasn't there, he exclaimed, "Wait! Where did it..." His voice trailed off when the nurse reached into her pocket and pulled out his wallet! Lol We student's erupted in laughter as she returned it with a smirk and a wink of her eye at us. Impressed, I thought to myself: "Apparently it can happen!" 😏😈
this is fantastic stuff....u make it look effortless..its bloody great...perfect score to match visuals

I wish I could do that (pickpocketings)
Go out and practice like I did! 😉
Excellent music and clip compilation George.
After the Dirty Harry/Budd 1:13 percussion, Mr. Schifrin's upbeat nod to Jerry's "The Last Run" 1:27
Apparently, when filming in Seattle, Washington the then-mayor, Wes Uhlman contributed to a cameo appearance.
@ADenny12 1973 was a gr8 year for small films with superb understated performances. Charley Varrick with Natthau. Friends of Eddie Coyle with Mitchum and Peter Boyle. Junior Bonner with McQueen.
thanks

I've gotta see this film, never saw it, and I call myself a James Coburn fan? ..Shame on me ..haha
👏👏👏
日本公開題名は黄金の指😂スリグループの話ですね~☺️
I've always wondered why people put stuff in their butt pocket?? I've never found it comfortable, convenient, or necessary. I wonder if this was pushed by pick-pockets somehow? You know, iPhones hanging half-way out of butt cheek pockets, etc..etc..
集団スリの快作映画😮日本から題名は黄金の指でしたね~🎵スパイ映画ではありません😂
Too bad it bombed at the box office.
That is cool, but I am better.
Why don't they get jobs ?
@Dddddorian
