You hear Gary's influence everywhere...he was by far and away one of the greatest blues rock guitar players to ever pick up the instrument... period....
the clip "surrender" from Fairfield 1991, that is magic, Gary Plays with his whole body, his heart is INSIDE the guitar, no one comes even Close to Garys playing!
Along with Michael Schenker, Gary is my favorite guitar player ever. I was lucky to get to see him live twice and he was amazing! 1st time, he was backing up RUSH with his Victims of the future album. Never had heard of him. First song was Victims of the future and I was a fan for life. 2nd time I saw him at a small club in Chicago for his Wild Frontiers tour. I bet there wasn't more than 200 people there for that one. He never made it big in America, but thankfully I got to discover him!
I never got to see Gary live, but his searing tone, endless sustain, melodic phrasing, and beautiful vibrato are unmatched. I’ve seen many players who are consider the best in the world, only a handful of players can move me. No player can move me like Gary Moore, he was simply the best. RIP
Great interview great seeing Gary with Peter the smiles on pete.s face gary you where one off the best saw many times brilliant guitarist got lots of kids into playing not many left now kids this is music not what they listen to now no talent rip gaz
Haunting Celtic melodies and soulful expression of emotions combined to give rise to one of the greatest electric guitarists who ever played....my personal favourite.
this guy was too good for america, thats why he never really broke america really big. america likes to hype up non-talents like bieber and all the crap pop singers with no substance and all overproduction. if you think about it, all the best musicians come out of england anyway. well, ireland too.
+Alan Lloyd Its the same in England. Today mainstream music has gone down the dogs. There are some good musicians around but getting a record deal is much tougher than it ever was as shitty pop music is dominating the charts.
Gary Moore went solo blues around the time NWOBHM was replaced with Guns and Roses and Grunge was taking off. I only found out about him by accident when a friend brought Bill and Ted VHS over to watch with a bunch of mates and told us Gary Moore was in town. "Gary Who?" A bunch of 80 year olds were blown away when we saw him at the Guildford Civic center with only about 1000 people.
Now listen to Peter Green play the same songs. In my opinion, Peter was the better guitarist. I admire both of them and I love the blues, but Peter to me has the edge. His tone and touch is just magic.
Steve Edmonds Eric Presley Is right PGreen is brilliant at was he does, But Gmoore does play many more different styles & plays them effectively Have a listen to this by Gmoore czcams.com/video/8jFm9-N9Zmo/video.html Beasts of Burden An instrumental Piece By Gary . Lucky bastard!
My greatest regrets in life is not having seen Gary and John Wetton live!
LOL, I also saw Wetton live in a band called Asia. I don't remember anything about that concert though. Wasn't memorable for me.
Seen Gary at least 25 times he gave 100% every time. RIP Gary surely missed. 10 years next year.
You had to see him in concert. His passion and energy and honest playing was so amazing.
My number one guitarist/artist of all-time! Brilliant!
For me he is the best❤❤🎸🎸🎸RIP Gary

Een geweldige gitarist en componist ! Gary kon alles met de gitaar ! Het moet voor de bandleden een genot geweest zijn om met Gary te spelen !

Don't forget the US produced Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix. Possibly the 2 most innovating rock guitarists of all-time!

Steve Edmonds Yes was great but not even close to Gary because Gary could play so many different styles and Peter only knew one.

Robert Willam Gary Moore
Guitar voice is dominant.
Gary Moore music. Like everything you’ve ever heard and nothing you’ve ever heard. - Moore
Wind him up and send him out there. - Bonamassa
He doesn’t sound like he’s Irish and I thought that he was from Northern Ireland
