He was, it was much too dangerous for him to do his own stunts.
You don't understand it's actually a new way of designing games, using CGI. It's such a new, labor intensive technology tho that the devs were the first to do it and could only do Kong with the time they have...then unfortunately this brand new technology didn't end up meshing well with the old technology of the game so the borders happened. Really, we should be applauding the devs. Kong is another L.A. Noir.
Kevin actually raises a good point- Maw left lil' Kong alone and only fought the Kongs his own size, but he's the evil villain you're supposed to crave vengeance against. Then your Kong goes around killing smaller creatures.
Kong lives long enough to become the villain.
I think the point is supposed to be that the would-be king Kong escaped unnoticed and might've been killed had he been found, but it's kinda hard to figure out what's supposed to be going on a lot.
Fun fact: The publisher, Gamemill Entertainment is also responsible for publishing Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, which is regarded as one of the worst games of all time.
Is that the one where you can reverse faster and faster until you break the laws of physics and win every race by virtue of being present in every atom of space at the same time?

Is their name really Gamemill Entertainment? lol I love how they didn't even care to hide their motive. They exist to just churn out games. The time, care, and creativity necessary to make a good game isn't of importance, but if you give them money (and to be fair, less than other companies), they'll technically make a product that at least *some* people will buy. I'm sure the employee morale is just through the roof over there.

It's honestly impressive that these developers somehow made the really fun concept of a King Kong video game, and made it one of the most boring and infuriating games I've seen in the past few years
I'm shocked that they managed to make "big gorilla smashes stuff" into a miserable experience.
What else are you supposed to do for a gorrila game? I haven't really seen a King Kong movie because it is just a gorilla so what other game could you make other than being in a jungle?

the movie is actually sorta cool (but old), kong actually kidnaps a chick in the movie, goes to a high ass building and holds her in his hand while the people are swarming him with helicopters. Climbing a big ass building and destroying a whole city as a big ass massive ape sounds better to me, imagine playing as kong having to fight off helicopters and destroying buildings. Maybe even from jungle to the city, sounds like a even better idea
@@datshoney yeah most Kong movies start with him in the jungle fighting dinosaurs and monsters, then he's captured by people wanting to put on the ultimate show and then he's taken to New York where he breaks out of his chains and smashes stuff rampages through the city breaking things, looks for and grabs the pretty blonde girl he's in love with and climbs a building fighting off airplanes the whole way then the planes kill him and someone says "it was beauty that killed the beast" and everyone's sad. (Spoilers for a 90 year old movie btw sorry)
You could probably make that a very interesting and fun game, but instead they did THIS.

Wow, this game is great. They recreated my favorite part of the movie. I always loved when Kong ripped a tree out of reality and then slapped an overgrown chicken.

Anyone know what happens if you win the boss fight at the start? There are a lot of games where there's a fight you're "supposed to lose" but you could theoretically win
The health bar reaches zero but the boss can't be killed 😞
It probably just has unlimited health or something, I doubt a game like this is gonna do anything clever or interesting about it.
In Unsighted if you beat the “scripted death” fight, you get an achievement and they give you an expensive sword for free. Great game, I’m glad you just made me think about it again.

Any game, when Kevin plays, become the best thing, no matter how good or bad it actually is.
But poorly made games like these and sims and bitlife will always have my heart.
I don't know if i should feel bad for developers forced to rush a game out in the most broken alpha or if I should feel outraged that these hacks even pretend to know what a video game is, let alone how to make one. Given the odd choices for things like imputs I'm leaning towards the later but have yet to work up the energy to find out either way. 😂

Actually the devs are different (Flux for TWD, IguanaBee for Kong), it's the publisher (GameMill) that's the same. It's also the publisher that set the time and budget constraints that made it basically impossible for them to create anything even remotely playable.
The difference is sort of like how Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther are both Marvel movies, but they have different writers and directors and such.

I think that the most frustrating part of this game is that there things that actually are nice, when he lands the little cracks under his feet for example, but a couple other things. Like, it's like they had 10 developers and one of them was trying 5 didn't care and the other 4 were in competition to see how much stupid shit they could squeeze into the game without someone calling them out on it.
Which by the way, to the guy who managed to hide a jpeg of a boss instead of a scene, grats, you won. It's a medal you shouldn't want, but it is yours.

honestly this year in the gaming world can be described as extremes because on one side we have games that are absolutely amazing like Lies of P, Legend of Zelda tears of the kingdom, Baulders gate 3 etc, and on the other we have games like this, the walking dead game etc.

you prompted me to look up the speedrun and I found one that takes 14 min 20 seconds and most of it is navigating out of bounds and the ending is hopping up on a rock to where the final boss can't reach and just throwing rocks at him for a full minute or so.
