Just bought my Sillage today. I think I'm becoming addicted to buying fragrances. It's a real habit
Never smelled Creed SMW. But the guy that use to work for Creed said Sillage was better because it's what SMW used to be. So I purchased Sillage and it's a beast. Funny everyone says it's missing the metallic feel. 1st thing my wife said when she smelled it was "it smells like wet nickles"! I ain't paying Creed prices when Armaf keeps producing better versions of their products for a fraction of the cost.

Sillage is nice! From what I've been told it's closest to the OG Silver Mountain Water. I have several Dossier clones and they have all been very good. You can't go wrong with either alternative.
If creed kept doing what they always did making some of the best , quality fragrances , they'd be fine. Once a craft business like this lets the accountants and marketing guys run the show they're in trouble. Customers pay a premium for quality but if the quality goes the prestige goes.
It’s called taking the Mercedes marketing model…..our name has such prestige that even if we release low quality stuff people still gonna buy
great comparison, if you are on a budget get the Armaf, but if you're a collector I think you need to have SMW

They don't smell the same to me. SMW is very smooth and refine. Sillage is really harsh and has a metallic and a rose smell to it. I hear people always say it smells better in the air. I gave it to my son to try and it was the same for me not good in the air and he hated it also. I would just go decant.

First time I smelled Creed SMW was some guy at work who sanitized and sterilized. He was around chemicals all day and would wear a haz-mat suit. I could still smell it from 4-6ft apart even with the suit. I asked him the name of the fragrance and I immediately went to the mall to go get mine. I didnt know the price and when they dropped the retail tag on me, my jaw dropped. I sprayed some on a strip and then on my wrist and was disappointed with the opening. All I could smell was the metals. I was begging to think I was being lied to. I went home empty handed. The next day I found the strip in my jacket and there it was. I smelled my wrist and could faintly smell it( I showered)… I went back to the mall and bought it on the spot. This is a fragrance that showed me a lot about fragrances in general. SMW can project and perform extremely and superbly well if you know how to spray it on you. It can even be overwhelming to some people around you but not in a negative way. This is definitely a fragrance where the opening is horrible for the first 45-60 mins because all you can smell is nickels, but once you get passed that.. OMG, you’re going to notice compliments from everyone(married women & my girlfriends best friends). Its become my signature scent. I just hate the retail price tag. If you must have the original from Crees, I suggest you look online in discounters fragrance stores. You’ll be saving at least half of retail.

for me personally, i get a really really really strong smell of cucumber from sillage, even over an hour later it's still a strong smell to me. Just can't get past that cucumber smell. but CDIM is great.

THE SMW today isn't what it was in 2004. That old school SMW projected with only two pumps all day.
Musky green tea is a natural scent which 2 me smells great and the Armaf smells 2 synthetic and strong to where it gives me a headache.tried to return my bottle of armaf but they won’t take liquid returns so I’m stuck with a headache bottle but will gift out next year🤷🏽♂️.dossier all the way!!

Great review. Got me a bottle of both and Armaf is just throwing out their AAA game when it comes to saving the average dude cash. Creed is really, straight up doing slick, cutting corner shit, that only benefits Creed. Like less quality and performance in their fragrances, and dropping the volume and keeping the same price.
Like why even do that slime ball shit when it costs $2 max to make a bottle. I'm familiar with cost and production, where it's very common that the design of the bottle costs more than the juice. So Creed is feeling the lump that Armaf is getting them in the throat and passing off the loss of profits to the Creed Army who will artificially think Creed is the best, only, and only because they would feel like the idiots they are if they really know, which they do, that they wasted all those extra $

I still have many 4oz and 2.5oz bottles left of SMW, Aventus, Original vetiver and Royal oud..I use armaf, parfum vintage clones on a daily basis and save my authentic creeds for special occasions. The newer bottles are garbage, reformulated and very weak..after they discontinued the 4oz and 2.5oz bottles( around late 2017 ) I stop collecting creeds..

The Musky Green Tea starts off great, but the dry down is TERRIBLE! After a few hours it literally smells like piss. I couldn’t wash it off fast enough.

Silver Mount Water (2019) was my first and favorite Creed. I saved my money to get it. I would never consider a clone. Never.
I appreciate the vision, artistry, risk, testing, and investment involved in the original, and do not understand how the fragrance community has embraced clones. They’ve created nothing, risked nothing, invested nothing, and had literally no vision except take money from people who convince themselves that you’re getting something for nothing.
Hey I understand the thinking, but it becomes a problem when the original isn’t the same quality as it use to be and has significantly went down hill.it’s not even getting something for nothing, but if I spend $400+ will I even get the same as my last bottle ?
@@thetechlibrarian mine is only a little over a year old, and it last 7-8 hours easy. I think that for a fresher type of fragrance that’s pretty good. And I get compliments every time wearing it. And if wearing fragrances is for personal confidence (in part), how can wearing a clone improve confidence?
