But honestly, this video kind of sucks and doesn't offer any actual information on composing dungeon synth. For a more informative video, I suggest you check out my "How to Make Forest Synth" video: • How to Make Forest Synth

Quality stuff, that. But a couple of tips...
    1) watch that reverb. It's sort of easy to slather on too much, and the results are usually pretty much mush. Go and listen to how John Carpenter handled this in the "Halloween" soundtracks...the tense, "evil clockwork" sequencer bits are actually mixed pretty dry, which is a big part of why that theme is so fear-inducing.
    2) organ. There's two classic Krautrock albums that Dungeon Synth owes a big debt to: Tangerine Dream's "Zeit" and Klaus Schulze's "Irrlicht". But when it comes to lead parts on these, you usually wind up with an organ (something like an old Farfisa VIP or Professional Duo) on lead because it cuts through the mix nicely. Given how those two works NAIL the dungeon feel, it makes sense to see why that might be.
    3) voice. The nice thing about DAWs is that you can reverse a track with absolute ease. And ominous voices work great in reverse...in fact, you can submit and add reverb BEFORE reversing it, and the backwards reverb tails are super-creepy. Plus, a little bit of screwing around with doublers and fast delays can turn A voice into LOTS of voices. Need a demonic choir? No need for actual demons! (Although I'm sure the AF of M has sanction clauses that their union members in Hell insisted on, so that more demons can get session work. Never mess with unionized demons!).
And 4) pay a lot of attention to sound design. Don't rely on thick pads so much, as they just muddle the sound. Instead, track with thinner sounds, then apply the RAW MEAT with various VSTs to mess with mix density. Remember: you can easily ADD sounds if necessary, but REMOVING sounds on already mixed tracks is a bitch! Let the track "breathe"...it pulls the ear in more easily.

I'm from Tunisia north Africa and i'm new to this this genre and as someone in the recent years start mostly listening to instrumental chill ambient music i stumbled upon an album calls "Mountain Realm - Grayshadow Ruins" and the first piece is it called "Temple Halls" reminded me of old RPG, CRPG OST music ,And it became my favorite piece of the album, probably in the whole genre to be honest to this day ,and the art cover of the album it's just 10/10 . and that led me to seek and search more of this genre like an adventurer exploring a dungeon seeking the rare and potentially legendary items hidden deep forgotten and sealed away for it to be only claimed by the worthy.

Wikipedia: "Dauði Baldrs (Old Norse for "Baldr's Death" or "The Death of Baldr") is the fifth album by the Norwegian solo act Burzum. Unlike Burzum's previous work, which was mostly black metal, this is a dark ambient album. It was recorded using a synthesizer and a normal tape recorder by Varg Vikernes while he was in prison, as he was not allowed to have any other instruments or recording equipment. It was completed in a few months due to his limited access to synthesizers, which was also the case with the following album, Hliðskjálf."
