Great show as always. Have you guys thought about cutting these mt Rushmore and best games of each year segments and reposting them on your feed? They would be great evergreen content for your channel and I could see myself listening to an entire playlist of them while going to sleep. Could drop one every week or so, or when you guys aren't able to record. Just a thought.😊
When I think of E3, it's the Konami 2010 conference. The greatest live dumpster fire I've ever seen. Nothing touches it. I was in awe the entire time, but not for the reasons Konami would've liked. "One mewyuhn twoops" is burned into my brain til death.
listen, like or dislike the killer bean game, you gotta respect the fact that the dude has been making killer bean stuff since like the mid aughts. he's been doing this shit since stuff like killer bean was considered HILARIOUS on places like newgrounds. love a dumb joke that went way way WAY too far.
Avowed will be good because Obsidian is making it, if anyone thinks otherwise, then I don't care. Just as Astro Bot will do very well, it's had a lot of very positive coverage, and I am looking forward to it. There will always be people trying to through shade on things that are not for them instead of just focusing on what they like, like how dare someone else have fun when I am not mentality.
By the same token, there's a lot of "how dare someone point out valid criticism?! I can't have fun unless everyone else is also a cultist for what I enjoy!" While Astrobot has little to criticize, Avowed, based on its showings, absolutely has things about it worth questioning, from stiffness in combat to clunky dialogue. People should get over others who have valid criticisms about things. If those people don't enjoy criticism, then the onus is on them to either listen or not, but it's gonna happen whether they like it or not, and if it ruins their fun, that's a them problem. Burying one's head to valid criticism is even more pervasive than pointing out things worth questioning, and so much more negative overall.
@@brinewind8732 I'm certainly not burying my head in the sand, Avowed has shown in the Showcase trailer and in the Xbox Official Podcast showing that followed the Showcase how much it's improved since the January deep dive at the Dev Direct. They have said they are just polishing it now. Anyone talking about Avowed with the older criticism I see coming from a point of ignorance or being disingenuous. I don't see an issue with clunky dialogue, that may be an issue you have with Avowed, but I don't have the problem and haven't seen others say similar to this point.
There is at least a 90% chance Astro Bot will be my GOTY 2024 Favorite Indie that I saw announced was at the Indie3 showcase, it's Sipssassin, where you have to stealthily drink the drinks of everyone in the room without them noticing, it looks like a riot
I’m so glad there’s no beef with Greg Miller, it seemed tense. I hope him and Dan are cool, I don’t think I’d be be cool with Greg if I was in Dan’s shoes to be honest haha
Starfield is good, it's not amazing, it's not horrible. It has obvious flaws, but I enjoyed my time with it. There is so much legitimately cool shit in the faction and companion quests and it's a shame the game itself gets in the way of that. I'm just gonna spoil a few since nobody cares; there's a planet with Teddy Roosevelt, Ghengis Kahn, Amanirenas, Amelia Earhart, Ada Lovelace and Wyatt Earp. There's a mystery you solve there and it's just interesting and fun. There's a hidden alien menace you have to stop that threatens the galaxy and the quest has a legit "aliens" style mechanic making them seem truly dangerous, there's an invasion of sorts and it leads to you going to their source and discovering a conspiracy, you get a ton of amazing gear out of it and feel very badass by the end. There's another quest where Farmland won't grow anything and as it unravels it becomes clear a powerful capitalist at the top might need to get taken down along with shutting down the remnants of a past military force. Just lots of really cool shit, great dialogue throughout. It's not like Skyrim, the radiant quests aren't that exciting, just wandering and trying to "find" fun doesn't really work that well, and that's on Bethesda for not setting expectations. This game never should have been 1000 planets or whatever, it should have been a curated 5-10 and solely narrative driven because that's where it shines. Do the companion and faction quests!
I forgot to add the quest where a science lab on a planet sends a distress signal and when you get there the lab is already destroyed and filled with invasive wildlife, and it looks like it has been for a long time, but you soon get transported to an alternate dimension where it's fine and everyone is alive and have to travel between dimensional rifts to find a way to stop the lab from being destroyed in your timeline or at least save some people. It's sooooo well done and this is the kinda thing none of the Starfield haters talk about.
They can't afford me, but yeah I try not to talk mid topic but sometimes I know something they don't and can't help but to chime in... Also how can we be quiet when they say the stupidest shit ever? At least let me make fun of them.
Indeed. Not unexpected though, Mike and Jeff are hardcore nintendo fans. The deeper this cycle go though, devs will prefer more serious, cinematic tones to most projects simply because of leap in visual fidelity when targeting gen 9 from the ground up.
If I had to choose, it’s easily Astrobot. Games trending more and more towards less and less interactivity ain’t what I want from my interactive entertainment. Hellblade is great to look at, Astrobot looks great to play. But to each their own

This, but also the Closest to the Messy Pin segments. A compilation of those would go hard
This is a solid recommendation. I’d revisit those segments for sure!
3:48 show start :) welcome back fellas!
Thank you!
Doing the lords work.
Good show, awesome work this week guys

No Peggle 2 guy? Insane. 😱
I'm all about pegging 2 guys
It would have been amazing if you brought the game scent for him to smash on stage lol
Wait, why is bungie on the chopping block?
Ryu from street fighter was in some asuras wrath dlc but asura was never in street fighter which is probably what mike was thinking off.
Fellas, where was Plucky Squire this SGF?

Imagine saying you are happy with what Sony is doing right now 🤦🏻
Christian should either just be another member of the podcast or just talk in the breaks. The random unexpected interjection is just weird
Gotta say as a first time listener, it is very off-putting to have a third (and fourth) disembodied voice after only introducing Grubb and Minotti!
He has been doing way too much lately and I rather not hear from him at all. I’m here for Jeff and Mike, not him.
Completely disagree. More Christian please.
I think it’s hilarious lol

HellBlade 2 over Astrobot any day of the week.. you guys can jump in the kiddie pool all you want.

Hellblade is great to look at, Astrobot looks great to play. But to each their own
Personally I prefer games which have fun gameplay, rather than interactive movies - but each to their own
Hellblade 2 is trash kid
To each their own
