I just wanted to let you know that I am not tooning in to watch what spectacular things you may be doing with your life, as much as I just tune in for a moment of your company. I think you are such a sweet and lovely soul. I think if I wasn’t living so darn far away, we could be great friends.
Do not stress your mind too heavily on trying to please the masses, because you alone are enough. Watching a day in your life is the pleasure and seeing how you react to things and describe things is fun part of your content. It’s just so nice to see a life so completely different from my own, I feel like it’s a mini mental vacation.
I agree. I think when people on CZcams get really popular they begin to think they have to show us the world and make every video outdo the last. I skip large spaces on the travel ones but am glued to every sight and sound of life at home, especially in that gardners cottage. And love how Michael explains everything. Even if we already know it.
Wholeheartedly agree!
That is why I watch Michael too, he is just such a lovely soul.
Michael, it is easy to see that you are working very hard to please us all. Slow down, smell the lovely coffee you made on the Aga, we are not as demanding as you might think. Concentrate on quality, not necessarily quantity. Your camera, editing and musical selection skills are all excellent. Thank you for this vlog, loved seeing the cottage and the greenhouse. 🙏🏻❤️
@@valeriethompson3584 Mavis is referring to the videos as a whole, nu just this one, at least that is how i read and understood the comment so please save the negativity and turn it into constructive criticism for someone who is needed of it.
As an American Quilter, the piece on your table can be used to cover the table, or act as a lap quilt, a decorative cover on the back of one of your new chairs, or hung on the wall.
Yes, in NE England, we all used to have a very thick cloth or quilts under the 'top' table cloth to protect the French polished table from hot plates, teapots etc. 👍🏼🥰
Or put a thick plastic on it...then you won't have to change your shorts so much...I would turn into Hyacinth Bucket..when I was younger...much
I was thinking a crib quilt
Michael, you are soooooooooooooo very excellent at this. You're such a charismatic angel. You bring me joy. Thank you.
Hello Michael - would love to hear about your upbringing; where born, schooling, what you majored in (since you have great talent in art/design etc), jobs you've had - not to personal but would love to hear.
Yes! You’re so talented in so many fields! Would love to hear how you became so informed about so many things!
Great suggestion!
Great idea. Let’s hear more
YES!
DOB? Passwords? Not too personal.
This has got to be one of my favorite videos you have made recently, a little slice of life in the cottage, making coffee, chatting about your tablecloth, a visit to the greenhouse in the rain, the thunder and the music. All delightful.
That "tablecloth" appears to be a twin bedspread (for single bed).
Thanks Michael. I love the beauty of all antiques seeing the patina restored back to its natural beauty is very pleasing. Wonderful video. 💕💞💕
Still loving this in Feb of 2024
I really enjoyed watchimg real life, just activities of your day lovingly caring for your charming cottage,...You seem very happy and more like your old self!.... All the best, stay relaxed, delete trolls asap and be true to yourself. Godspeed on your life's journey and thanks for sharing.
This was totally fascinating to me. It’s like reading a novel or History book. You seem happier and focused. I’m delighted for you. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Love and light from Houston Texas.
Hey, I’m watching from Houston too!
Great first daily. Looking forward to the next one. Also it's great to see you looking happy again. Watching you from the Southern Tier of the Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York USA
@@hodgepodgedesign san antonio here. hello y'all
You Petherick's all have gorgeous blue eyes....continuing into the next generation with Ernest. (Kudos to you for daily log. Just a glimpse is all we need!)
Laurie, you expressed exactly how I feel about Michael. He has such a sweet demeanor and is always entertaining just by living his life. I hope his love life blooms just because I want him to be happy. I love the Auga!
Love the music you've chosen. Watching you narrate using the AGA, making coffee, moving on to the greenhouse, is very satisfying. Your little dogs add to the coziness of your cottage, as do the leather chairs. It's so good having you back, moving forward with your gardener's cottage. Thank you!
Michael I’m so glad you are doing a “ daily” …I looove Dan “ The Gardners” … and I think cause you r sooo very clever it won’t very difficult at all👏👏🤭😊😊
Totally agree…absolutely lovely music 💕💝🙌🏽✨
Hi Michael, these daily vlogs are a treat! I was thinking all your charming footage of the cottage and the greenhouse that you should write, and illustrate a childrens book. You are so likeable and creative.
Great to have you back again doing vlogs. Please don't feel that every vlog needs to be be 20-30mins long. Short ones are just as good and will enable you to continue without burning yourself out.
Don't wear yourself out making 30 minute vlogs for the rest of the week! Short and sweet. Glad Andrew made an appearance. 😁
😘😘
This is the Michael that we all fell in love with, thank you!
The cottage looks so cozy. It looks like the best place to be on an ugly cold day. I just love it and I love the daily vlog idea.
Teresa from Texas ♡
I completely agree Teresa ;) you have good taste.
Teresa from Australia ♡
@@teresamonica8387 thank you so much♡
It's such fun to see someone who enjoys thunderstorms as much as I do!!! So amazing that you are able to grow a lemon tree in France!!!! 💖 from 🇨🇦 You did a beautiful job on the coal skuttle 👍
Oh my!! I was just out in the rain & lightening it’s nearly over now 😟 it’s 10 pm I just want say be blessed Michael 💖💖🇦🇺
Your happiness makes my heart smile. Love all the updates. Beautiful. 💟☮️
So glad you’re back, Michael. The coal scuttle looks great. The rain in the greenhouse was amazing!! Thank you!!! Love and hugs from sunny Arizona 💖😎💖
See? That wasn't so bad. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment! I even loved the summer storm. You mentioned you might do some artwork----YES PLEASE! Break out some watercolors and we can paint along with you!
Thank you Michael for allowing me to spend some 'time in France today, I watched you while I quilted. Love from South Australia
The textile you are using as a table cloth is beautiful!! Who cares what it was originally used for, it's so wonderful to repurpose it.
Bravo Michael. Great video. Lovely to see you back in action. Don't forget to save the coffee granules for the roses and not the bin.
Stoking the anthracite reminded me of our childhood anthracite heater. My Dad would make sure the heater was ready for us early morning, & my sister & I would get dressed for school in front of the heater. Wonderful memories 🤗
That copper is really beautiful! Such a wonderful storm! 😊 I can almost feel the smell from wet earth. Love this kind of videos, thanks 😘
I would watch/listen a hour long video of just that rainstorm. So peaceful.
Thanks for letting us in. So nice to see you back. Looking forward to tomorrow!
I love being in the cottage. It’s so cozy. So special.
Love the rainy day video of life in the cottage. The quilt does make a great table cloth. I enjoy using my old quilts in creative ways like this. I recently cut up an old tablecloth that my grandmother used on picnics and turned it into a large tote bag. I smile every time I use it and remember my beautiful grandmother.
So happy to see you back Michael, we just needed a little bit of you more often. Perfect for you to earn some money so you can do small projects on the cottage and save for mini vacations at the same time..You make so many people happy xx
I’m just always amazed how great the cottage looks! Well done
Thank you for showing us how the Aga stove works. It is so interesting! You have so much information on the history of objects and how they are used and maintained. 😊
Michael, I love being welcomed into your cottage/chateau life. You have a knack through your cinematography, dialogue and music to make viewers feel as if we are actually there with you. You heal our covid tired souls. Thank You so much. God bless you!
I love how the piano music is layered in over the still shots. I could literally feel my blood pressure going down and my body relaxing while I watched this! Oh to sit with a mug of tea and a book while that storm raged outside! Also, the varieties of tomato are astounding!!
“A little it of everything and daily life” will suit the viewers admirably. I can’t believe how interested I am in copper polishing and tomato pruning and such. I cannot believe how quickly you were able to bring that copper coal scuttle back to life! And the patina is what you Absotively want! No brand new copper for the gardener’s cottage ever! All with a Beatrix Potter 19th century patina to it. A few dents and scratches. The kitchen is looking so wonderfully cosy and nothing better than a rain storm to make it even cosier. So the copper, the Spode the Aga, and all of the period details you have made the effort to include will contribute to the wonderful ambience the completed kitchen will provide.
Everyone is actively anticipating the upstairs of the cottage, the actual stairs, seeing your parents’ renovations, wee Bertie and his antics and wonderful wee ears, your artwork … so many things can comprise the future subjects of your daily vlogs! Looking forward to tomorrow!
Keep the old/used coffee grind for the garden ... it keeps the snails away and helps with the PH level in the soils !!!
Be still my heart❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ you’re beautiful beautiful cottage kitchen is beyond amazing! I am in love with all the wood and all of your beautiful blue and white transferware is absolutely spectacular !!! I wish you would show more of the way that you have styled all those beautiful pieces! Your kitchen is darling👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍😀your stove is amazing too 👍❤️
Micheal we love to see you happy and jovial again ❤...you are a fountain of knowledge and skill .
And not owning a chateau is a blessing ..you have a wonderful home and the freedom 😊😊...no mortgage ...and lots of raw talent and a super duper fella ...🧡💛💙
This was awesome Michael! At the cottage, seeing you working on things, never gets old! You are a delight, it’s nice to see you so happy.
Hi Michael, I love spending time with you in the cottage. It was interesting to see you put coal in the auger and making a simple pot of coffee. Who doesn’t love a good rain especially when you can hear it hitting the roof. As usual the music is beautiful!
So much fun to be in the cottage during a summer rain storm. Cozy & relaxing.
Thanks Michael, Andrew and sweet doggies. That was very relaxing and nice to watch. Stay happy
Love this new style. Nice to see you again. Hope the weather improves
You may have put the spark back in the cottage but you seem to have your own spark back. Really enjoyed this!
What a spectacular Treat!!! You have no idea how wonderful that Storm and Music felt.
Out here in Northern California with the Sun Blood Red from the Smoke/Fires and haven't had rain in so long it can hardly remember.
So a warm thank you for sharing the Storm topped of with the wonderful choice in Music.
You and your many Gifts are such a delight!
I love this style of vlogging. We just like seeing what you’re up to. I will let the ads run to as a little support for all your efforts to keep us entertained. ❤️
Throughly enjoyed the episode Michael. It was nice just spending time with you as you puttered about the cottage. No need for “themed” vlogs to keep your viewers happy, although you are a pro at them.
Love hanging out in the cottage with you. It's so cozy ❤
I really really enjoyed this! It’s very interesting to watch a not so mundane way of doing very mundane things ( like making a cup of coffee) well done!
Love the leather chairs you chose. Perfect and they look very comfy. Sean would probably give you his seal of approval on the polish job. Enjoy the storm! ❤️ to you guys.
Ghost. Made me laugh. So witty. It’s a blast just watching you make coffee. ☕️☕️Thumbs up for your daily blog👍
Lovely to see you looking so happy, the cottage will be so cosy once you’ve got the bathroom and bedroom finished, can wait to see you settled in. Although it nice to be with family you can’t beat your own place. Xxx
I work night shift at my job,and I look forward to all your videos when I get home I can't wait to watch they make me very Happy Michael to see what you and your family are doing, keep them coming.love you all Tamara
So excited for this daily blogs now :)
I loved looking at the rain through the greenhouse windows and listening to the beautiful music. Well done!
At last, a classic, terrific Michael video. Thank you!
(Hit send prematurely). My grandmother's stove worked the same way, including stoking the fire and removing ashes. She also made coffee with a simular pot. It was strong as hell! Thank you for the memories!
Well done Michael - looking forward to the rest of the daily vlogs.
Yay! Welcome back Michael! Missed you! Cottage looks better and better...You should be PROUD! Tulsa, OK, USA
Great video, lots of interest and information. I also like to see things brought back to life, a good polish or some paint or even a DIY fix. I'm looking forward to the following videos, thank you
A most enjoyable video...anything Michael is just fun spending time with a great human being such as yourself. Nice to see your friend. The puppies are so sweet an happy you are there I'm sure. As many of us have told you, we are with you in spirit and enjoy whatever you endeavor! I just luvvvvvvv copper!
The "table cloth" is meant for a bed or to be used as a throw. The stitching would rarely be used for the top of the table. The type of needlework around the edge is called "trapunto", the darker stitches are cross stitch. Beautiful!
@@pw4075 I was thinking the same. :)
That cloth was most likely meant to be a quilt. But it makes a lovely table cloth.
So lovely to spend some time with you, Michael! Thanks for showing us how your stove works!
Thank you so much Michael, i enjoyed that very much, and i always enjoy the music, really looking forward to the next installment.x
What a lovely vlogs Michael. You look so much happier and healthier. I really enjoyed today's vlog and am looking forward to tomorrow's.
Michael, you are such a talented story teller. You could explain step by step how you take the garbage out, and I would be totally enthralled listening to you tell it. Keep your videos coming and I’m sure everybody else like me will love it!❤️🇨🇦
A nice rainy day to catch up on your cottage chores. I enjoyed watching. Thank you, Michael 😊
Hello, thank you for your video with Jan. My Angels are working through you. I really needed some comforting as I prepare for my treatments. Jan is wonderful as are you.xoxo
Great stuff.. the everyday is just what we need. The wind and rain is beautiful to watch when it's warm inside, with the cats and dogs close by... August is usually the time we get windy weather in Sydney but we had a lot last month thankfully, as it saved the blooms on our 60 year old magnolia tree... it's huge, looks beautiful and smells divine. It looks like Bertie has settled in again and given Sadie the flick! 🐶🦘
Wow, Michael! If all of your daily vlogs are like this one, we’re in for a great week!
Michael your family are real gems the cottage is stepping up nicely .
I can't even tell how much I love this channel...thank you Michael!!
What a gorgeous old window, absolutely beautiful. Just saying I love the green paint, I love green.
This vlog was so much fun to watch. Love the coal cleaning scuttle, came out really nice. Loved the rain storm, and so happy to see your smiling face. The cottage is coming along nicely too. 😀 the long tomatoes look like San Marzano’s and are great for Italian dishes, beautiful plants in the greenhouse. Stay happy Michael. Love and hugs from Northern California 😀💐🐶
❤ dearest Michael thank you so much for the entertaining video. And I love the way your blue eyes shine when you stand in front of the Spode dishes.
You will hit your stride with these daily vlogs and fund the perfect formula. I love the b roll. You and Billy have a wonderful eye!!
Just enjoyed this video very much. Everything you film seems so interesting because of your lovely personality. It is like spending time with a dear friend. I think that is one of the reasons you are so popular. Keep up the fantastic footage. Every time I hear that music, that seems to suit you so well, I know I am going to be entertained and enlightened.😊❤️
Michael those English leather chairs are perfect. You have an amazing eye for design! I loved watching your Bialetti; my son works for Starbucks and gets a pound of free coffee a week - so my freezer is full of it. If you want, I'll send you some through Stephanie. And wow is France ever green and lush this summer - as your Greek viewer noted - I'm in Colorado and western US is also on fire this summer - so enjoy your blessed rain and thunder.
Your home is beautiful, your life is so full and interesting and YOU are just lovely. Thank you for sharing it all with us. FYI I love seeing the children's toys sprinkled about.
Oh I Just Love Watching Everything You are All Doing. I am in Lockdown in Geelong, Victoria. Australia. I am a Nurse in Aged Care. You are my only Outlet at the moment. Enjoying Your Channel to the Max. Love You 😘 Working and Looking after the Frail, Elderly in Aged Care is a Challenging Job. But I wouldn’t Give it up Ever! Only when I can Retire. LOL. Keep up The Great Work. You all Make Me Smile Everyday. Luv Shaz 😘xxx
Never made a comment on u tube before. This is fun to communicate with you. I love what you are doing keep up the great work. Also don’t throw away your coffee grounds. They keep the rabbits away from your bulbs. 😉
We were forecast storms today here in Vienne, sadly they never materialised. I love a good storm and absolutely love being in a greenhouse when it rains. Bon soiree Michael.
Michael you need to know you are so loved by your viewers! Nice to see you smiling again. The cottage feels so cozy and you want me want an AGA.💕
Thank you for the daily vlogs Michael. It’s a pleasure to spend (virtual) time with you!
This was so relaxing. The cottage is so cozy, it’s like visiting a friend in the woods for tea.
that rain is so lovely, we haven't had any measurable rain in over 4 months here in Victoria, British Columbia. High forest fire risk and drought conditions.
I live on VI as well. Around Vernon, major fires and evacuation, we need your rain Michael. Love your little cottage.
Stay safe! I hope you get rain soon. If you like I can send you some from Louisiana :)
hi Susan.. i'm actually reading a book at the moment about a birdalship arriving in Victoria.. it's a book by Jody Hedlund.. The bride ships.. there's 2 books,. i have almost fiished the first one. Don't know if the second one is also about Victoria. I guess i'll find out today. Anyway i saw Victoria when i read the comments so just wanted to tell you. Have a great sunday and kisses from Holland xxx Juliette
Your copper coal shuttle have come up lovely. The cucumber plants are looking good in the greenhouse. Thanks for sharing 👍 🥰
Michael we also use our antiques!

Yes Michael, daily vlogs is a good call - would love to hear more about things inspiring you for the next part of the cottage refurbishment!
That rain reminds me that fall is around the corner. Thank you, Michael for volg. So good to see you and your little dogs.
Your smile makes me smile. Just love watching you!!
I loved seeing the rain and the thunder, it hardly ever rains here in Southern California so I thoroughly enjoyed this vlog! I really miss the rain.
Very enjoyable spending time in your life; I like the everyday chores and scenes. Looking out the window during the storm was wonderful; I love the sound of rain on the roof. That greenhouse is a magical place. ❤
Loved the rain on the greenhouse. I love a good storm too. Thanks for sharing.
Michael, you did a marvelous job on polishing the fuel bucket. 👏👏👏
Thank you for a lovely vlog. I LOVE a good thunderstorm. France seems to have had more than it's fair share this year. I'd be tucked up in one of those lovely chairs with a good book and cup of tea. Darjeeling, my fav. It's so delightful to see you back in your creative mode! Looking forward to the next one! Hugs from Washington State, USA
